The white-bearded Convergence Realm cultivator looked at Nick Ning in delight. He hadn't expected Nick Ning to be so eager to help, and quickly cupped his fists, saying, "Thank you, fellow Daoist, for your assistance. My name is Paul Chuan, from the Chaotic Realm Domain of the Five Elements Universe. May I ask how I should address you?"
The Chaotic Realm Domain of the Five Elements Universe—where was that? The Chaotic Realm? He had visited both the inner and outer regions of the Chaotic Realm before.
Before Nick Ning could respond, an angry voice rang out, "Last time you managed to escape, and now you, a mere Third Step cultivator, dare to cause trouble in my Prime Essence World? How arrogant."
With the angry shout, Nick Ning saw the protective array of the Prime Essence World open, and more than a dozen figures rushed out.
Behind these figures was an army of tens of millions, led by Sam Su of Sky Array Valley and Chief Winston Gong of the Silver Dragon Clan. They had already charged into the attack formation. Once the order was given, Sam Su could activate the killing formation and surround the three Convergence Realm cultivators.
Nick Ning was certain that if he hadn't returned, the Prime Essence World would likely have been completely annihilated.
An army of tens of millions could surround a single Convergence Realm cultivator, but with three arriving at once, no matter how strong the protective and killing arrays of the Prime Essence World were, it would be like striking a stone with an egg.
"Heh, you brought reinforcements today..." The young man in the lead stood fearlessly on the Prime Essence World's Void Plaza, clearly believing that Paul Chuan and the others could not break through the plaza's defenses against him in a short time.
Paul Chuan's expression darkened, his voice icy as he said, "Zane Sever, even if you are a realm lord, you cannot simply seize others' possessions or slaughter the innocent. You have no shame—how are you any different from a beast? I swore never to attack cultivators of the Five Elements Universe without cause, but you have left me no choice..."
The young man called Zane Sever seemed to pay no attention to Paul Chuan's words. Instead, his gaze fell on Nick Ning, and he asked in surprise, "Are you surnamed Ning? Are you a descendant of that idiot Nick Ning?"
Nick Ning stared coldly at Zane Sever. "Did you choose that name because you want to sever Ning himself? If I'm not mistaken, you're the bastard left behind by that wretched Susan Shaw. You probably don't even know who your father is, so I guess you had no choice but to take your mother's surname."
"So you really are the cursed spawn left behind by Nick Ning. Councilor Philip Wang, activate the killing formation with your men..." As Zane Sever spoke, he flung out several array flags.
But something was off. Normally, when his array flags were thrown, Sam Su would immediately trigger the trapping and killing formation, sweeping up the tens of millions of troops to lock these few people down. Walter Wang should have acted, too. So why was there no movement at all?
"Councilor Wang, Protector Su, you..." Zane Sever stared in disbelief at Walter Wang and Sam Su. At this moment, not only did Sam Su refrain from activating the trapping and killing formation, but he rushed out and bowed deeply to Nick Ning. The Riverlock Sacred Sect's master, Walter Wang, also respectfully saluted Nick Ning.
"Sam Su pays his respects to the Dao Lord." Sam Su held Nick Ning in the highest regard. In fact, if the Prime Essence World's army hadn't needed Sam Su's expertise, he would have been eliminated long ago.
Sam Su was certain that this was Nick Ning, but Walter Wang was less sure. He wasn't as familiar with Nick Ning as Sam Su was, so he could only bow and salute, "Is this Dao Lord Ning in person? Walter Wang of the Riverlock Sacred Sect pays his respects to the Dao Lord."
"So you're Nick Ning?" Zane Sever finally realized that the person before him was indeed Nick Ning.
Nick Ning looked at Zane Sever with mockery. "That's right, I'm Nick Ning. I'm standing right here today—try and sever me if you dare."
Zane Sever let out a series of shrill screeches, throwing down dozens of array flags and roaring, "Prime Essence Grand Court cultivator army, kill for me..."
His words were abruptly cut off, as if his throat had been grabbed like a rooster, unable to continue.
The dozens of array flags he threw out vanished into the void like mud sinking into the sea—there was no reaction at all. The Prime Essence World’s army, usually so responsive to command, didn’t stir in the slightest.
Nick Ning stared at Zane Sever with mockery. The Grand Court of the Prime Essence World was founded by him, and its protective array was his handiwork. How dare Zane Sever try to use the Prime Essence array in front of its creator?
"Eternal Dao Lord! Eternal Dao Lord!" Suddenly, endless voices erupted in chorus.
Zane Sever’s face turned deathly pale. He knew the crowd wasn’t cheering for him, but for Nick Ning.
"Nick Ning, if you dare kill me, my mother will hunt you down across heaven and earth, scour your soul and burn your spirit." As Zane Sever spoke, he raised a jade talisman and activated it.
In the next moment, a pale-faced woman appeared before Nick Ning. It was Susan Shaw, the Saintess of the Infinity Sanctuary. She stared at Nick Ning, "So it’s you, Nick Ning. You actually survived the Genesis Universe."
"So it really is you, you vile woman. My greatest regret is that when I destroyed that rotten tree of the Infinity Sanctuary, I didn’t kill you as well." Nick Ning looked at Susan Shaw as if she were already dead.
"Nick Ning, if you dare kill my son today, I will turn the Prime Essence World into ruins and then erase every planet you’ve ever touched..." Susan Shaw’s voice was like a nail, sharp enough to tear through eardrums.
Nick Ning sneered, "You probably won’t get the chance."
With that, Nick Ning raised his hand and tore open the void, sending a Dao resonance imprint stretching out from the rift.
Everyone stared at Nick Ning in stunned silence. What kind of cultivation was this? Even Paul Chuan and the other two were dumbfounded. They had seen Creation Realm powerhouses before—even Byron True himself—but none could casually tear open the void of the Five Elements Universe like Nick Ning, and then...
Before they could even process what came next, Nick Ning had already withdrawn his Dao resonance imprint. In his grasp was a woman dressed in green.
With a flick of his hand, Nick Ning hurled the green-clad woman onto the void plaza outside the Prime Essence World.
"Nick Ning, you..." The woman in green stared at him in terror. She had always thought she was about to stand at the pinnacle of this universe, but faced with Nick Ning, she realized just how insignificant she truly was.

Nick Ning’s mocking gaze fell upon the woman in green. "Who would have thought that the Saintess of Infinity Sanctuary has now become a whore for anyone, reeking of filth and corruption. Still serving those False Walkers in the Bodhi Grand World of the Western Universe. Heh, with your character, you think you can step into the Third Step? Dream on..."
Susan Shaw trembled all over. Only now did she realize how pitiful her past vows had been.
She had long decided that once she reached the Third Step, she would turn the entire Bodhi Grand World to rubble, burying all those who had been with her in its ruins. She believed she could do it, having already fused the Infinity Dao and the Lotus Dao with the Western Bodhi Dao. Once she completely merged these Daos and stepped into the Third Step, she would be the first.
Now, all of it seemed laughable. Nick Ning, from across the endless void, had snatched her up with a single Dao resonance imprint. She had dreamed of being the strongest in this universe, but it was utterly ridiculous.
"Mother..." Zane Sever stared in shock at his mother, whom Nick Ning had just tossed in front of him. The protective image she had given him had already dissipated completely.
Nick Ning sighed, "What puzzles me is how someone as ruthless as Cynthia Xing didn’t kill you."
Susan Shaw shuddered. Would Cynthia Xing really spare her? Cynthia Xing had once stripped her bare and thrown her to a disciple under Kirk Bodhi, just to trade for a divine technique. Otherwise, how could she have ended up as a woman used by anyone...
She didn’t even beg for mercy; she knew Nick Ning’s ways too well—he would never let her go. Her only hope was to avoid reincarnation. If she did, she feared she would spend eternity in a brothel.
Suddenly, Nick Ning summoned a ball of flame, tossing Zane Sever into it. Then he grabbed Susan Shaw and threw her in as well. Their miserable screams echoed as Nick Ning silently gazed toward where Jasper City on Jiangzhou Star once stood:
"My brothers and friends, rest in peace. Today, I have avenged you!"
(That's all for today, friends. Good night!)
