Secrets of the Demoncloud Zone

"What? You even know about this? You've been near the Demoncloud Zone all along?" The woman looked at him in shock and suspicion.

Evan Yang nodded. "That's right."

After sizing Evan up, the woman asked, "Do you know who ruined things today?"

Evan knew she must already realize he knew who caused the trouble—after all, he could see them, so naturally he could see the other side. Still, he answered honestly, "I'm really sorry about today. I just wanted to leave, but I didn't expect that place to be so strange."

"It was really you?" the woman exclaimed. "Yes, it was me. Sorry, I honestly didn't know it would turn out like that today. I dragged you into it." Evan said awkwardly.

Seeing Evan was genuinely apologetic, the woman sighed, "Forget it, forget it. I guess we just had bad luck."

"Can you tell me how to get to the Demoncloud Zone?" Evan asked curiously.

"Why do you want to go to the Demoncloud Zone?" the woman asked, equally curious.

"I want to leave the Devil Realm and go to the Immortal Realm," Evan replied.

"Are you crazy? Do you know what kind of place that is? You think you can get to the Immortal Realm through there? Keep dreaming!" The woman glared.

Evan said helplessly, "I have no choice. I must leave the Devil Realm, and that's the only way out."

"You're heading straight for death," the woman said.

"No matter what, I have to go," Evan said.

The woman looked at Evan and asked, "Are you sure?"

"Yeah." Evan nodded.

"Alright, but you have to help me with something," the woman said.

"What is it?" Evan asked suspiciously.

"You should have figured it out—we want to go to the Demoncloud Zone too, but we're not leaving; we're just looking for something. If you come with us and even help us find that thing, I'll tell you how to get close to the deepest part of the Demoncloud Zone," she told Evan.

Evan hadn't expected her to want to use him. Seeing him hesitate, she smiled and said, "You can think it over and let me know when you've decided. Anyway, there's still a month before we go."

Seeing her smile, Evan realized this was his only option if he wanted to leave, so he said, "Alright, fine. But what exactly are you looking for?"

"That's not urgent. I'll tell you when the time comes. But your current disguise is way too obvious. Let me teach you something." The woman looked at Evan.

Evan looked at her suspiciously. She said, "Here, take this stone and hide it somewhere inconspicuous. When you use your power, channel your Immortal Essence through the stone."

"Why?" Evan asked, still suspicious.

"Just try it and you'll see," she replied.

Evan thought for a moment, then gave it a try. He found that the energy coming out turned into black mist, which wrapped around him. "That's demonic qi. It will keep others from recognizing you. This way, even if people outside see you, they won't think you're from the Immortal Realm," the woman explained.

Evan marveled at the stone in his hand and smiled. "Thank you so much."

"Alright, by the way, I still don't know your name," the woman asked.

"I'm Evan Yang," he replied.

Hearing his name, the woman looked at Evan suspiciously. "Are you Evan Yang from the Heaven-Battling Clans, the Yang family?"

"How do you know that?" Evan was shocked, as if something had startled him. If a Yang Clan member knew, that was possible, but even people from the Immortal Realm might not know he was from the Heaven-Battling Clans. And in the Devil Realm, it was even less likely.

"Heh, that's a secret. You'll find out later. It's not convenient for me to tell you now," the woman said.

"You really can't tell me?" Evan suddenly felt the woman before him was quite mysterious, giving him an indescribable feeling.

"I can't." She shook her head.

"Then what's your name?" Evan asked curiously.

"I'm Clara Snow," she replied with a smile.

"Alright, thank you, Miss Clara. I'll leave the Demoncloud Zone matter to you," Evan said.

"No problem. To think I'd meet someone from the Heaven-Battling Clans of the Immortal Realm here—it's a miracle," Clara Snow said with a cheerful laugh.

Her smile made Evan feel as if she could see right through him.
