"Luna Chu, from now on you should call me sister-in-law. Don’t think I don’t know who’s older between you and Evan. If you don’t believe me, just wait until Evan brings our father to the Imperial Capital—you’ll see for yourself." Selena said with a playful smile.
"Oh, so now you dare talk back to me? Just wait till tonight—let’s see how I deal with both of you! If you want to get into the bridal chamber, you’ll have to get past me first." Luna Chu grinned mischievously.
Selena and Claire Ouyang knew Luna Chu’s temper all too well. This girl always did whatever came to mind and never cared about the consequences.
Evan Chu left Frostbane Sect alone with an hour left before dawn. For this wedding, he didn’t bring any ceremonial escort—it was all very quiet and low-key.
By his calculations, the three flower palanquins should already be waiting a hundred miles outside the gates of each sect. Evan Chu flickered and teleported away—his first stop was Freewind Palace. Freewind Palace was the farthest from Frostbane Sect, so if he went there last, it would look like he was favoring the other brides. Since he was marrying all three at once, he had to be fair.
Evan Chu teleported several times in rapid succession, and in less than half a stick of incense, he arrived at Freewind Palace. The sky was still dark, but the palace was brightly lit.
"Wait here for me. After I bring Rina Dreamer out, you two leave by yourselves and find a quiet place to destroy the palanquin. Don’t leave any traces." Evan Chu instructed his sect members.
Then Evan Chu walked straight into Freewind Palace, heading toward the main hall. The palanquin and Evan’s arrival at the gate were quickly reported to the Palace Lord.
"Palace Lord, Evan Chu’s wedding party has arrived. He’s heading toward the main hall right now!" a sect member quickly reported to the Freewind Palace Lord.
"He’s here? So fast? Why didn’t I hear any wedding music? How many people are in his procession?" the Freewind Palace Lord asked, her tone a mix of surprise and a hint of indignation.
"Including Evan Chu, there are only three people—the other two are just palanquin bearers, waiting outside the sect right now," the sect member replied honestly.
The Freewind Palace Lord was stunned by the answer, then muttered, "What is Evan Chu up to, bringing only three people for the wedding? Is he looking down on Freewind Palace, or does he have some other plan? I’ll go to the main hall and see for myself. Rina, unless I give permission, you are not allowed to leave with him!"
When she reached the main hall, the Freewind Palace Lord saw Evan Chu smiling at her. "Palace Lord, it’s good to see you. I’m sure your sect members have explained my situation. Once I take Rina Dreamer away, you’ll understand everything. Don’t worry—Frostbane Sect would never let Freewind Palace lose face. May I take Rina with me now, Palace Lord?"
The Freewind Palace Lord was about to question Evan Chu’s intentions, but he’d already boxed her in with his words. Evan wasn’t just anyone; he was the sect master. Refusing him would be disrespectful, but agreeing made the whole wedding look embarrassingly shabby.
Just as she was feeling stuck, Evan Chu continued, "The real grand palanquin is waiting a thousand miles away. Freewind Palace is the first place I came for the wedding, Palace Lord—you should know how sincere I am. After all, today I’m marrying three women!"
The Freewind Palace Lord thought for a moment, then said, "You’d better not disappoint me, or you’ll regret it. I’ve never seen a wedding like this before. Come on, I’ll take you to Rina’s room."
Evan Chu followed the Freewind Palace Lord to Rina Dreamer’s room. Rina was already dressed as a bride, her red veil covering her face. Evan couldn’t see her features, but he knew today she’d be showing her true self.
"Rina, let’s go. I’ll explain everything on the way. For now, you’ll have to bear with me a little," Evan Chu said gently.
He picked Rina Dreamer up and headed for the door, then turned to the Freewind Palace Lord and said, "Palace Lord, you should set out too. Once you reach the place I mentioned, everything will be ready."
With that, Evan Chu vanished in a flash, leaving the Freewind Palace Lord in disbelief at his speed.
Evan Chu made full use of his teleportation, staying silent along the way. Soon, he arrived before the massive flower palanquin carried by Heaven Ape and the Grand Elder, placed Rina Dreamer inside, and said, "Rina, wait here for your other two sisters. I’ve always treated everyone fairly—hope you understand."
Rina Dreamer didn’t speak, just nodded. Evan Chu quickly left, teleporting toward Bloodfiend Hall.
Just like before, Evan Chu’s palanquin hovered a hundred miles from Bloodfiend Hall, waiting in midair until he arrived, then proceeded together to the sect.
Evan Chu entered Bloodfiend Hall just as he had Freewind Palace, but the Bloodfiend Hall Master wasn’t nearly as patient. When he heard the wedding procession had only three people, he flew into a rage.
Seeing Evan Chu arrive, the Bloodfiend Hall Master snapped, "Evan Chu, I agreed to let you marry Lynne, but you show up with just three people? Are you looking down on Bloodfiend Hall? We may not match Freewind Palace or Sacred Sword Sect, but we’re still ranked fourth in the Azure Tide Ruins. If this is all the sincerity you have, then the marriage is off!"
"Heh, Hall Master, there’s no need to get angry. I’m marrying three women today, so I’d never let Bloodfiend Hall lose face. It’s the same for Freewind Palace and Heavenly Fragrance Pavilion—just three people. But a full procession is waiting quietly a thousand miles away. You don’t believe me?" Evan Chu explained.
"Is that true? I’ve never seen a wedding like yours. Lynne may not be my own daughter, but I treat her as one. She’s important to me, so let me make this clear—if you ever betray her, Bloodfiend Hall and Frostbane Sect will fight to the bitter end to get justice for her!" the Bloodfiend Hall Master warned.
"That will never happen. Rest assured, Hall Master. I’m the master of Frostbane Sect—my word counts. May I take Lynne with me now?" Evan Chu asked respectfully.
"Fine, fine. Take her away, then. Just remember to keep your promise!" the Bloodfiend Hall Master said, unable to hide his resignation.
Evan Chu then carried Lynne Nie out of her room and told the Bloodfiend Hall Master to set out as well, so they could meet at the rendezvous point a thousand miles away.
Unlike Rina Dreamer, Lynne Nie wasn’t quiet on the journey—she kept talking to Evan Chu, as if she wanted to pour out all her longing at once.
Lynne Nie was amazed by Evan Chu’s teleportation speed. She couldn’t see exactly how fast he moved, but the rushing wind told her it was at least twice as fast as her own flight.
Soon, Evan Chu placed Lynne Nie inside the big palanquin. "Lynne, chat with Rina for a while. I’ll go fetch Selena Yale next—she’ll be the last, and I hope you’re both satisfied with that!"
With that, Evan Chu teleported away, leaving the two women talking inside the giant palanquin. Both were amazed by his arrangements—maybe this was the first time such an unconventional wedding had ever happened in the Azure Tide Ruins...
