A few days later.
Ian Song and his group quietly approached the city where the mutant death spirit resided.
Last time, there were still some death spirits visible around the city, but now, not a single one could be seen. It was likely that the mutant death spirit had consumed them to recover from its previous exertions.
Over the past few days, Ian had divided the refined crimson energy into over a thousand portions, each wrapped in a thin layer of chaos divine power and injected into a thousand Upper Heavenly God–level death spirits.
Meanwhile, the three—Redmoon God-King, Silverwing God-King, and Snowsun God-King—had taken control of these death spirits.
"Send the death spirits in!"
Ian said in a deep voice.
With a wave of their hands, the three released a thousand death spirits, directing them to float up toward the city.
"Roar!"
With an excited low roar, the mutant death spirit’s blood-red body appeared in midair, instantly swelling to hundreds of times its size. It opened its mouth and swallowed one of the Upper Heavenly God–level death spirits whole.
"That was easier than I expected!"
Ian was a bit surprised, then immediately stripped away the layer of chaos divine power wrapping the crimson energy.
Instantly.
In that moment, a huge burst of crimson power exploded inside the mutant death spirit, making its body swell by another hundredfold.
"Roar, roar, roar!"
The mutant death spirit let out a thunderous roar, its voice full of pain and rage.
But not long after, its body suddenly exploded apart.
"It worked!"
Redmoon God-King was overjoyed. The three immediately rushed forward and collected the mutant death spirit’s soul power after its death.
They suspected that its soul power contained Origin Source Power.
Several hours later.
Inside the formation.
Each of the three God-Kings who had collected part of the mutant death spirit’s soul power was busy refining it, hoping to extract the Origin Source Power hidden within.
Unfortunately, to their disappointment, although they could sense the Origin Source Power in the mutant death spirit’s soul, it had completely fused with the soul itself. Worse, it was saturated with that strange crimson energy, which was highly compatible and couldn’t be separated. As a result, every drop of Origin Source Power they extracted was contaminated with that eerie crimson energy.
So, although they managed to extract Origin Source Power, it was unusable.
"Let me give it a try!"
Ian said to Redmoon God-King.
"Alright!"
Redmoon God-King handed Ian the three drops of Origin Source Power she had extracted.
Ian fed the Origin Source Power into his chaos vortex. Soon, he stripped away the crimson energy, but he also discovered that the Origin Source Power had a deadly attraction to his chaos vortex. If he hadn’t controlled himself, the vortex would have devoured the Origin Source Power completely.
"It worked!"
Ian returned the three drops of Origin Source Power to Redmoon God-King.
"This one's for you!"
Redmoon God-King handed Ian a drop, but he refused—after all, a single drop of Origin Source Power was a huge help to her.
Next, he helped Silverwing God-King and Snowsun God-King purify their Origin Source Power as well.
They each offered Ian a drop of Origin Source Power in thanks, but he refused again. So instead, they simply handed over all the storage God-rings they’d collected—compared to Origin Source Power, those rings meant nothing.
This universe was incredibly dangerous. Every bit of extra power meant a higher chance of survival, so after obtaining Origin Source Power, the three dove straight into cultivation.
"I didn’t expect you’d really pull it off!"
Mira Skylar finally found a chance to say to Ian.
"Regretting you didn’t take my bet, huh? Otherwise, you’d be my maid by now!" Ian said with a teasing grin.
"Hmph, never met anyone as shameless as you!"
Mira Skylar snorted.
A month later, the three had finished the initial refinement of their Origin Source Power. Silverwing God-King, who’d only been at early lower God-King before, immediately advanced a sub-realm to mid-stage.
Redmoon God-King didn’t quite reach mid lower God-King, but she was much closer. With a bit more Origin Source Power, she’d likely break through soon.
As for Snowsun God-King, his strength reached peak mid lower God-King, just a step away from late-stage.
So—
Everyone set out again.
Several months flashed by, and soon, three months had passed.
Ian and his group returned to the rendezvous point as agreed.
But the first to arrive wasn’t them—it was the squad led by Tu Yu.
