"Oh!" David Yu responded from outside the door and walked in. The first thing he saw was the vengeful ghost of Leon Chang, his hair disheveled, staring at him with ghastly pale eyes. Instantly, David's legs gave out, and he screamed, "Mom—" as he spun around to flee.
Shawn Young sneered and nodded at Leon Chang's ghost. Leon understood, and in a flash, transformed into a streak of red light—"Whoosh—"—and shot straight at David Yu's back as he tried to escape.
David Yu's whole body trembled, his eyes instantly glazed over, and he froze in place, mouth still agape, face twisted in terror. A foul smell of urine wafted from his pants. Shawn Young stepped forward, waved his right hand in front of David's face, and said, "Alright! Leon Chang, have you possessed him?"
"David Yu's" eyes returned to normal, his limbs moved again, and he shook his neck. First, he looked down at his pants, then said gloomily, "Damn! This guy pissed himself from fear! How embarrassing—"
Hearing Leon Chang's voice coming from David Yu, Shawn Young knew the possession was complete. He nodded and said, "Good, it's done! Now that you've possessed him, we can split up and get moving!"
"Brother, what's the plan?" "David Yu" asked.
"Go gamble! I'll get you into the Golden Mountain Casino. Then, use your spirit-leaving-the-body trick to win as much as you can—until their boss Goldtooth and Nika show up!" Shawn Young told "David Yu."
"Got it!" "David Yu" nodded.
"Alright! Let's go!" Shawn Young waved at "David Yu," leading him out of the shabby room.
Rainie Bai, who'd been waiting outside, had no idea what had just happened inside. When she saw Shawn Young come out with "David Yu," she hurried over and asked, "Shawn, how did your talk with that ghost go?"
Shawn just smiled, but before he could answer, "David Yu" flashed her a creepy grin and said, "Hello there, beautiful lady!"
Rainie Bai immediately noticed that "David Yu's" voice sounded completely different, with a weird, sinister vibe to it. Startled, she hid in Shawn Young's arms, pointed at "David Yu," and stammered, "Y-you're not Boss Yu, are you?!"
"Heh—heh—I'm Leon Chang! And also David Yu! Heh heh—" "David Yu" let out a creepy laugh.
Rainie Bai instantly understood what was going on. Her face went pale with fright—which was no surprise, since anyone seeing a real 'ghost possession' would be terrified, especially someone as innocent as Rainie.
"Uh—alright! Leon Chang, she's my woman, don't go scaring her for no reason!" Shawn Young warned "David Yu."
Rainie Bai blushed and snuggled into Shawn Young's arms, hugging his strong waist tightly—as if that was the only way she could feel safe.
"Sigh—Brother, I hope when you find my daughter, you'll treat her this well too. That would make me a happy man!" "David Yu" shook his head and sighed.
"Oh, don't worry! If I promised you something, I'll get it done! Time's precious—let's move!" Shawn Young replied.
With that, the three of them headed out to the street. In no time, they were on their way to the Golden Mountain Casino, and ten minutes later, they arrived at its entrance.
Suddenly, "David Yu" staggered backward, covering his head and shielding his eyes, refusing to look at the casino entrance. Shawn Young quickly asked, "Uh—what's wrong with you?"
"That—that Pixiu statue above the door is eating up my evil energy! It's been blessed and has the power to ward off ghosts. With that thing there, I can't even step inside the casino!" "David Yu" hid around the corner and whispered to Shawn Young.
"Oh! I see. No problem, I'll block it!" Shawn Young said, channeling his qi and raising his right hand toward the Pixiu statue above the Golden Mountain Casino entrance—"Whoosh—"—he shot out a burst of invisible white light, forming a barrier that enveloped the statue.
Note: Pixiu is a mythical beast in Chinese culture, believed to guard homes and attract wealth. It famously has no anus, so 'money goes in but never comes out'—making it a favorite feng shui statue for casinos and businesses. When blessed with cinnabar, it gains extra power to ward off evil and attract fortune.
After setting up the barrier, Shawn Young pulled out his phone and called Longhair to come help. Then he told "David Yu": "I've got a guy inside the Golden Mountain Casino—he'll keep in touch with me. You go in as David Yu; most people there know you, so go wild! If anything comes up, he'll let me know right away!"
While talking, Shawn Young asked Rainie Bai, "Xiaoying, how much cash do you have on you?"
"A million!" Rainie Bai replied.
"Great, give him five hundred thousand as a bankroll and let him go gamble!" Shawn Young told her.
"Okay—" Rainie Bai cheerfully pulled out five hundred thousand from her waist pouch and handed it to "David Yu," then asked, "What about the other five hundred thousand?"
"That other five hundred thousand is for your father, so he can try his luck!" Shawn Young laughed.
"Huh? My father? Where is he?" Rainie Bai asked Shawn Young in surprise.
"Look—" Shawn Young pointed to the corner up ahead. Rainie Bai looked and saw her father, Simon Bai, squatting by the street with his shoe-shining kit beside him, clearly waiting for customers.
"Ah! That's really my dad! I'm going over—" Rainie Bai said excitedly, lifting her foot to run toward him.
"Don't rush—your dad might not want to see you right now! Uh—just follow my plan for now. Trust me, he'll come around!" Shawn Young said, holding her back.
"What plan?" Rainie Bai asked curiously.
"Heh—don't worry! You'll find out soon enough!" Shawn Young replied, grinning mischievously at her.
