Tonight I Will Let You Know the Truth

12/19/2025

Princess Olivia Gu hung her head, silent.

"Are you going or not?" Evelyn Hu asked, her face dark and stormy.

Princess Olivia jolted, then stood up and said, "Fine! I'll go back! Mom, don’t freak out! Don’t do anything crazy!"

"Go quickly!" Evelyn Hu ordered.

So Princess Olivia didn’t even step inside the Zhu Family’s gate and turned right back.

After Olivia left, Evelyn Hu’s face twisted into a dark and vicious expression as she turned and went inside.

Instead of going to the Zhu Family, Olivia wandered the streets like a lost soul.

Eventually, she found herself at Colin Gu’s grave.

She squatted there for ages, murmuring, "I can’t tell what’s real and what’s fake anymore... Brother, maybe I should just join you. Can you tell me what to do?"

With that, she slowly removed a sharp hairpin from her hair and suddenly stabbed it toward her neck.

Suddenly, her hand went numb, and the hairpin slipped to the ground.

She turned her head and saw Azure Phoenix.

"What are you doing here?" Princess Olivia Gu stood up and asked.

"I've been following you," Azure Phoenix replied.

"Following me... Do you know about the poisoning too?" Princess Olivia Gu asked.

"I know," Azure Phoenix said. "Just like my big brother, I've always known! In fact, we even know... when you returned for the third day, Dowager Lady Blue Moon gave you the poison."

"Really?" Princess Olivia Gu laughed at herself, "Do you all see me as some kind of clown? Is it funny?"

"Funny?" Azure Phoenix took a deep breath and said, "Do you think my brother just married you for fun, brought you home just to watch you make a fool of yourself?"

Princess Olivia Gu bit her lip and stayed silent.

"Sister-in-law, do you want to know the truth?" Azure Phoenix asked.

"What truth?"

"Do you really want to know whether Colin Gu was heartless first, or whether our Zhu family was unjust first? Whether Colin Gu was truly evil, or if our Zhu family was the ones who wronged him? Do you want to know the truth?"

"...What do you mean?"

"If you want to know, tonight, I'll let you know!" Azure Phoenix said.

...

That afternoon, Princess Olivia Gu's body was dumped at the doorstep of Dowager Lady Blue Moon, Evelyn Hu.

Evelyn Hu dashed out like a madwoman, her trembling hands reaching to check Princess Olivia Gu's breath.

She wasn't breathing anymore.

She was dead!

"...She actually poisoned the wine during the toast!" The one who delivered the body was Jason Zhuo.

"After she was caught, she took her own life! But she can't be buried in our Zhu family's ancestral grounds. Returning her body to you is the last bit of kindness I can offer. You'd better bury her yourself!"

Evelyn Hu stared blankly at Princess Olivia Gu's corpse, shaking her head over and over, muttering, "How could this happen? How could you be so useless? So useless..."

"Before she died, she begged us to spare you," Jason Zhuo added. "Mother-in-law, take care of yourself!"

With that, Jason Zhuo gave Princess Olivia Gu one last cold, indifferent look, then turned and left.

According to custom, the deceased would remain in the house for three days before burial.

After Jason Zhuo left, Evelyn Hu brought Princess Olivia Gu back inside, sitting there in a daze, staring at her face, unmoving.

In the middle of the night, the door latch suddenly rattled.

At the same time, the door slammed open with a bang.

A gust of cold wind swept in, chilling to the bone.

Evelyn Hu turned to look and immediately screamed in terror.

There, in the doorway, stood a ghost!

The ghost had wild hair and blood dripping from its mouth.

Its face was unmistakable—it was Reginald Gu, the late Emperor of Blue Moon, father of Colin Gu and Princess Olivia Gu!
