Slaying the Extinction Heaven Demon General

1/19/2026

Evan Chu didn’t dare take the changes on the black-clothed man’s longsword lightly. This guy’s strength was at least Fourth-Layer Saint Martial Realm, and he was clearly familiar with Evan’s attack techniques—making him a real pain to deal with.

He immediately covered himself with earth-and-stone defenses, not daring to use Earthsplitter recklessly—it burned through Chaos Dragon Force far too quickly. For the moment, Evan really couldn’t find a good way to handle this guy.

The black-clothed man’s attack came in a flash, catching Evan off guard. Evan hurriedly unleashed Tyrant Cleave—he knew it wouldn’t wound the opponent, but it should barely be enough to block this strike.

As soon as they unleashed their martial techniques, the surrounding space trembled nonstop. “Boom!”—with a deafening crash, Evan’s attack collided head-on with the black-clothed man’s strike. The massive energy impact made the air hiss and squeal, and both fighters were blasted dozens of meters away by the backlash.

Evan didn’t manage to injure his opponent with that sword, but the black-clothed man’s sword-qi tore through Evan’s earth-and-stone defenses, ripping a huge hole in his clothes. Still, Evan’s body defense was just as tough as his earth defenses, so he escaped unharmed.

But from that exchange, Evan realized this was the strongest opponent he’d ever faced. The man’s power far outstripped his own, and his demonic qi even had a corrosive effect—Evan’s flesh burned with searing pain.

“Qing Shuang, you’re really disappointing. I’ve only used sixty percent of my strength, and you’re already this pathetic. Looks like I overestimated you.” The black-clothed man sneered.

“Heavenbane Demon General, cut the crap. I also used sixty percent of my power, and you let me down too. Saint Martial Realm powerhouse? Ancient demon? What a damn joke!” Evan fired back without missing a beat.

“Big talk won’t save you! Today I’ll make sure you die with no grave to bury you—take another sword!” The black-clothed man swung again, and this time his demonic qi was even thicker.

Thunder and wind roared all around, space shaking violently. Most terrifying of all, when this sword strike landed, it actually ripped open a black hole in the void.

Tonight was supposed to be his wedding night, and yet this damned dark organization had come to ruin everything. If he’d had just another day or two to absorb Serena Dream’s Gold Yin energy or Dream Serena’s Demon Yin, he could have broken through to Ninth Layer Divine Martial Realm—his attack power would be on a whole other level.

And Earthsplitter could be used three or even four times then. But Heavenbane struck so suddenly, Evan never got the chance. The thought made him furious.

Heavenbane Demon General wasn’t faring much better. Evan’s Frostbane Sword was razor-sharp, and the force of Earthsplitter tore several gaping wounds in his body. Black blood poured out, and through the hole in his chest, his heart could be seen still beating.

Heavenbane was also desperately healing. Whoever recovered first would win. He didn’t fear Stellar Power—even ten more attacks wouldn’t faze him. But he never expected Evan, who hadn’t reached Saint Martial Realm, could unleash such terrifying strength. It was unbelievable.

While Evan and Heavenbane focused on healing, Frostbane Sect’s disciples fought fiercely, swords flashing as they cut down the dark organization’s forces. But even the weakest enemy was at Eighth Layer Divine Martial Realm, making every fight a brutal struggle.

Of the Nine Great Sects’ masters, only Evan faced Heavenbane directly; the rest were entangled by powerful black-clothed enemies. Some of those foes were even above Third Layer Saint Martial Realm—the situation was dire.

In the bridal chamber, Selena Yale and the other three brides couldn’t sit still. The roars and sounds of battle outside made them anxious and desperate, but tradition kept them under their red veils, unable to leave the room.

"Sister Selena, what should we do? Evan hasn’t come in to lift our veils yet. Are we just supposed to sit here and wait to die?" Lynne Nie blurted out, unable to hold back.

"Let’s wait a little longer. If he still doesn’t come, we’ll lift the veils ourselves. It’s a bit unlucky, but there’s no other choice. Evan will understand." Selena Yale said.

"I think we should just stay in here and wait for him. If anyone barges in, we’ll work together to kill them. It’s bad luck to get blood on our wedding night, though." Dream Serena said.

"You’re Dream Serena, right? Evan told me about you—you’ve known him the longest and understand him best. Since you say so, we’ll listen to you. I just hope Evan can resolve this crisis soon." Selena Yale said.

"Sister Selena, this attack by the dark organization must have been planned for a long time. You’re a Saint Martial Realm expert—you could go out and kill those enemies. The rest of us can hold down the fort here." Serena Dream said.

"I want to go out, but things are different now. We’re all sisters, so I won’t hide anything. I’ve reached Fourth Layer Saint Martial Realm, but I can only use Second Layer strength." Selena Yale admitted.

"How can that be? Did you get poisoned by gu?" Serena Dream asked in shock.

"I’m not poisoned by gu—but I’m pregnant with Evan’s child. If I fight at full power, I might hurt the baby. For my child’s sake, I have to hold back." Selena Yale said.

"You’re already pregnant? You guys are really something!" Lynne Nie couldn’t help blurting out. She’d hoped to be the first to bear Evan’s child, and these past two days were her best chance, but Evan hadn’t been able to join her in the bridal chamber, making her anxious. Now Selena Yale had beaten her to it, crushing her hopes.

"Let’s just lift our veils. If a thief breaks in, it’ll be bad for us. We’re all sisters now—no need to be shy!" Dream Serena said, and she was the first to lift her red veil.

With one bride taking the lead, the other three followed suit. Soon, all four had lifted their veils and were looking at each other.

"You’re all so beautiful!" The four brides spoke in unison. Each was a peerless beauty, and now, dressed for the wedding, they were even more enchanting. If Evan were here, he might just faint from a nosebleed.

The Freewind Palace Lord, Sacred Sword Sect Master, Bloodfiend Hall Master, and Crescent Moon Sect Master were all formidable experts. Dealing with the black-clothed attackers wasn’t too difficult, and soon they’d slain dozens.

After being killed, these attackers turned into clouds of black mist and vanished—a scene both eerie and mysterious.

By now, Evan had almost fully recovered. Just as he prepared to fly out of his crater and finish off Heavenbane Demon General, a voice rang out in his mind—the Sword Spirit.

"Evan, don’t act rashly! Heavenbane Demon General isn’t an ordinary foe. If you rush out now, he’ll sense you instantly. Demon Generals have a Blood-Escape Grand Art that lets them flee in a heartbeat—if you miss this chance, killing him later will be nearly impossible." the Sword Spirit warned.

"Then what should I do? I can’t just sit here and wait for him to recover and kill me!" Evan protested.

"Use Earthshift to quietly approach him underground—then launch a surprise attack. Even if he survives, he’ll be gravely wounded. By now, most of the dark organization’s forces in Frostbane Sect should be dealt with." the Sword Spirit advised.

"Alright! I’ll do as Luna says!" Evan replied. He immediately activated Earthshift, burrowing into the earth and slowly creeping toward Heavenbane Demon General.

Evan moved slowly, afraid of alerting his opponent. After all, Heavenbane Demon General was a figure from ancient times, his experience and cunning beyond compare.

After a while, Evan finally saw Heavenbane Demon General in the crater, and his heart surged with excitement once more…
