Ambushed

After sending Quinn Fang off, Joe Di decided to craft a few pieces of armor. He wanted to visit the Chaos Realm.

It wasn't that the Chaos Realm was full of treasures, but Joe Di knew very well that going there was a matter of life and death for him. If the being in the Chaos Realm really was the Cosmos Lord, then once the Cosmos Lord recovered his cultivation, the first person he'd want to eliminate would definitely be Joe Di.

A powerhouse like the Cosmos Lord, if he couldn't see that the Ninth Prime Law had merged with Joe Di's world, then he'd be too weak. As for why the Cosmos Lord didn't go after the other owners of the Prime Law, that's obvious—even a fool knows you pick the softest persimmon to squeeze. Right now, Joe Di was that soft persimmon.

Just as Joe Di was about to use his Rule Escape Technique to head to the Chaos Realm, the communication bead on his wrist suddenly flashed.

To his surprise, the message was from Vera Tang. Joe Di was overjoyed—ever since he'd told Vera Tang, Yvette Yi, and Tammy Tang to leave first, he hadn't heard from any of them. No matter how many messages he'd sent, none had been answered.

Now, he'd finally received a message from Vera Tang. Joe Di focused his spiritual sense on the communication bead, and immediately frowned. There were only two words on the bead: 'On the run.'

Joe Di hurriedly sent back a message, but after a long while, there was still no reply.

It seemed Vera Tang and the other two weren't in a good situation. Joe Di extended his spiritual sense as far as it could go, trying to locate the origin of the communication bead's message, but it was too difficult. Even with his current strength, he couldn't manage it. After several hours, Joe Di finally received another message—a vague location. Then, once again, nothing.

This time, Joe Di didn't hesitate. He activated his Rule Escape Technique and rushed over at top speed.

With Joe Di's Rule Escape Technique and cultivation, in this stretch of void, there truly was no one faster than him.

In just a few days, Joe Di had nearly reached the location indicated by the communication bead. However, he slowed down, sensing that something was off.

Even if Vera Tang was on the run, she should have been able to send a complete message. Why did she only send the words 'on the run' and then a simple location?

Just as Joe Di thought of this, a terrifying pressure swept over him, followed by what felt like the collapse of the void itself. In that moment, not only was Joe Di's domain locked down, but even this entire stretch of void was tightly sealed. Joe Di immediately understood—clearly, Vera Tang's communication bead had been taken, and a trap had been set here, waiting specifically for him.

Joe Di sneered inwardly. He was about to tear through the suppression of the collapsing void when the space suddenly rippled again. The next moment, Joe Di felt his body lighten—he was actually teleported away.

It was indeed a clever scheme. Whoever set him up clearly knew his abilities, so instead of trying to trap him here completely, they teleported him to another location. Joe Di didn't need to think to know that wherever he'd been sent wasn't simple; it certainly wasn't hastily arranged.

Still suspended beneath the void, Joe Di summoned the Yin-Yang Taiji Diagram to shield himself, while at the same time keeping the World Tome ready.

For Joe Di, his greatest defensive treasure wasn't the Yin-Yang Taiji Diagram, nor Voidmount, but the World Tome. He just rarely used the World Tome.

Bang! The teleportation force vanished without a trace, and Joe Di fell from the void.

With a thunderous explosion, endless magma erupted. Joe Di didn't even need to use his spiritual sense to know he'd been swept into a massive magma pool.

As a body cultivator on the verge of surpassing the Sacred Physique, even without the Yin-Yang Taiji Diagram, this magma couldn't destroy his physical form.

Joe Di swept out his spiritual sense, intending to survey his surroundings and then break out of the magma.

To Joe Di's shock, as soon as his spiritual sense extended outward, a portion of it was burned away by the scorching magma. Waves of pain surged from his sea of consciousness, forcing Joe Di to quickly withdraw his spiritual sense.

Joe Di knew exactly how powerful his spiritual sense was. For magma to burn away even a part of it showed just how formidable this magma was. It had to be at least of Sacred Flame level; otherwise, it couldn't possibly damage his spiritual sense.

This magma was slightly weaker than the Chaotic Magma he'd encountered at the Realm of Sevenfold Rebirth, but its violent nature was even greater.

Whoever set him up really had skills—to find a place like this.

Joe Di rapidly sketched out dozens of Law Array Banners with his spiritual sense, but as soon as he sent them out, his expression darkened.

If it were just magma, he was confident he could escape. Even magma more terrifying than Chaotic Magma couldn't trap him.

The key was that, besides the magma, there was also a top-tier Ninth-Rank Guardian Array here—absolutely a ninth-rank array. On top of that, the magma contained a large number of hidden array patterns, which Joe Di suspected were natural.

Joe Di was a Formation Sovereign infinitely close to eighth level. The moment he touched these array patterns, he knew escaping wouldn't be easy. Even if he could break the Ninth-Rank Guardian Array, breaking through these divine array patterns would be extremely difficult.

If he were caught by these array patterns while trying to escape, any other cultivator would be doomed. But he had the Sacred Physique, several top-tier defensive treasures, and the Ninth World, so he didn't have to worry about dying.

Whoever used a Ninth-Rank Guardian Array to trap him really spared no expense.

Bang! Joe Di finally landed on the ground, which was covered in a layer of void flames. Ordinary Genesis Realm cultivators would be instantly reduced to ashes without any chance to resist.

Joe Di even dismissed the Yin-Yang Taiji Diagram, planting his feet directly on the void flames. The void flames, capable of tearing space, wrapped around his feet, but couldn't even damage the hem of his pants.

This stretch of void flames extended for dozens of meters. In the center of the flames was an iron cage, and to Joe Di's astonishment, someone was locked inside.

But that wasn't the most shocking thing to Joe Di. What truly stunned him was that this person's Purple Mansion was pierced by a strip of Shadowsteel, locking him in the void.

Shadowsteel was a top-tier ninth-level divine material, the kind used to craft the most supreme artifacts—yet it was being used to pierce a cultivator's Purple Mansion.

Once the Purple Mansion was locked, it meant all cultivation was lost. Without cultivation, under these void flames, what could one do but die? Yet this trapped cultivator wasn't dead; his clothes were intact, and though he looked weak and thin, he was far from a skeleton. At this moment, he even stared at Joe Di in astonishment.

"You only have Genesis Realm cultivation, yet you survived under Silent Abyssal Magma and can walk atop the void flames at the bottom without relying on defensive treasures?" Before Joe Di could inspect the trapped cultivator, the man spoke first, marveling at Joe Di.

Joe Di replied speechlessly, "No matter how strong I am, I'm nothing compared to you. Your Purple Mansion is locked, your sea of consciousness is sealed, yet you can still survive. You must be far more formidable than me."

Hearing Joe Di's words, the trapped cultivator chuckled, looking at Joe Di with a speechless expression.

He was a cultivator who had stepped into the Third Step, yet here he was, being told by a Genesis Realm cultivator that he was more formidable than someone at the Genesis Realm.

Just by looking at his expression, Joe Di knew what he was thinking. Joe Di didn't mind; it was normal for a Genesis Realm cultivator like him to be underestimated by a powerhouse.

"You've been trapped here for quite some time, haven't you? Do you know who locked you up? Also, where is this place? Is there any way out?" Joe Di fired off a series of questions.

"You want to get out?" the trapped cultivator asked.

Joe Di replied coolly, "Isn't that obvious? Don't you want to get out? If you know anything, just say it—maybe I can take you with me."
