Trouble at Fragrant Lily House

2/14/2026

Evan Yang joked around with Wayne Wu for a bit. Originally, he planned to head back, but since Wayne had come to the capital, Evan decided to stay with him for a few days.

So the two picked an inn. When Evan pressed Wayne for news about his friend, Wayne said he hadn't returned yet, so Evan stayed at the inn while Wayne went out to handle his business.

Looking out at the bustling scene outside the window, Evan thought of the people from the human world and his father. "Sigh, when will I finally find him?"

Evan felt deeply worried at this moment. He just wanted to find his father quickly, especially recalling how anxious and excited he was when he saw him appear in Ethereal Sanctuary.

Bored, Evan looked ahead and noticed a particularly lively place. Looking closer, he realized it was a women's hangout called Fragrant Lily House.

Originally, Evan didn't care about such a place, but he suddenly spotted a familiar figure. "It's her? How did she end up here, and even changed her outfit?"

The woman had no idea that, in the nearby inn, Evan was closely watching her every move, all the way until she entered Fragrant Lily House.

"What's she doing here? Catching someone cheating? Or...? Interesting. Since I'm free, I'll go take a look. But first, I should change my aura so I don't get exposed," Evan muttered.

So Evan changed his aura, and even used a new face to disguise himself.

This was Evan's usual disguise technique. He swaggered up to the entrance of Fragrant Lily House, and just like the woman, was led inside by the greeter.

Inside, there was a main hall. Evan glanced around and saw that the woman was sitting at a table, scanning the surroundings as if she was searching for something.

Evan picked a table near her and sat down.

"Young master, what kind of lady would you like? We have them all," the greeter auntie said.

"Not for now. Just bring me some wine first," Evan replied.

The auntie was stunned for a moment, then smiled. "Alright." As she left, she muttered, "What a strange day—everyone comes here and doesn't pick women."

Evan understood what she meant, especially since the woman was just sitting there, looking around, not paying attention to any of the girls, clearly searching for someone.

"She must be at least Profound-Immortal level. Better not let her notice me, or I really won't be able to escape later," Evan thought to himself after sensing her aura.

The woman was only focused on finding the person she wanted, not noticing anyone nearby watching her.

About half an hour passed, and the woman sat there scanning the area without moving. Evan watched her too, occasionally shifting his gaze to avoid getting caught. One thing they had in common: women kept coming up to bother them, but both sent them away.

The auntie at the shop was frustrated—were these two here to make trouble or just to admire the scenery?

"Damn, why hasn't he shown up yet?" the woman cursed inwardly. According to her maid, that guy came here almost every day to indulge himself—today was her perfect chance to mess with him, but he was nowhere to be seen.

Just as she was cursing, a group entered. The first was a man dressed in white, holding a fan, followed by four guards. Each wore a token with the character 'Huang'—clearly from the Huang Estate.

The man in white seemed to be a regular here. As soon as he arrived, a swarm of women surrounded him. The auntie greeted him as usual, "Young Master Huang, you're here."

"Granny Li, what's up? Got anything good today?" Young Master Huang said with a lecherous smile.

"Of course, there's plenty. I've already prepared your room," Granny Li replied with a smile.

"Good, excellent. You guys have fun here, same rules as always. Wait for me when I'm done," Young Master Huang told his four guards.

The four guards laughed, "Yes, young master."

Young Master Huang followed Granny Li away. The woman muttered, "Playboy. Let's see how I chop you up today." She got up and headed after them.

"Is she here to catch that guy? Or is he her fiancé?" Evan wondered, curiosity piqued, so he followed after them.

After Granny Li led Young Master Huang to a house in the rear garden and returned, she noticed the two were gone. "Damn, they left. What a loss for business," she muttered.

In the rear garden, people were coming and going. Evan kept a bit of distance from the woman. With so many men walking around, no one would mistake him for sneaking in.

The woman kept her divine sense locked on the building Young Master Huang entered, slowly closing in, ready to make her move.

Evan followed behind, curious to see what she was up to.

The woman muttered to herself, "Dare to poison me? I'm definitely teaching you a lesson today."

From behind, Evan saw the woman suddenly kick open the door. Instantly, there was a commotion and the sounds of fighting inside. The ruckus drew a crowd, and Granny Li showed up with several tough enforcers, all clearly formidable.

"Move aside!" Granny Li shouted.

She barged in and saw the two fighting inside.

Evan also saw the situation inside.

The woman and Young Master Huang were locked in a fierce fight. Young Master Huang realized who she was and exclaimed, "You're still alive!"

"Despicable Huang! Surprised I'm still alive? Today, I'm getting my revenge!" the woman shouted angrily.

"Hmph! Aren't you afraid my grandfather will find out if you kill me like this?" Young Master Huang shouted, knowing his secret couldn't be exposed.

"What about what you did? If others found out, what would happen to you?" the woman retorted coldly.

"What did I do? Go ahead, tell everyone!" Young Master Huang sneered.

"You poisoned me and still dare to deny it?" the woman said while fighting, surprised she couldn't subdue him right away.

"Poisoned you? Ridiculous! What poison did I use? If you can still stand here, how could I have poisoned you?" Young Master Huang gritted his teeth, refusing to admit anything.

At this moment, Evan understood, though the people around didn't. If the woman had really been poisoned, how could she still be standing here?

Actually, only Evan knew that he was the one who detoxified her. The poison was truly vicious, capable of making a person lose their mind.

"I've already detoxified myself! Of course I can stand here!" the woman said.

"Ridiculous. If you're going to frame me, at least do it properly," Young Master Huang sneered.

Granny Li didn't recognize the woman—after all, she was disguised. Only Young Master Huang could quickly sense her aura and identify her.

Granny Li shouted at the woman, "So that's why you weren't picking girls—you're here to cause trouble! Everyone, get her, tie her up!"

Young Master Huang knew the woman's identity. If she was captured here, things could easily get out of hand. He calmly said, "Granny Li, this is a personal grudge between us. Don't hurt her."

"Hmph! Anyone who dares step forward will be treated as his accomplice!" the woman said before Granny Li could respond.

"Accomplice? So what if we're accomplices? Where did you come from, brat?" Granny Li snapped, emboldened by Young Master Huang's backing.

Young Master Huang knew Granny Li didn't recognize the woman's identity. Otherwise, she wouldn't be so confrontational. Still, it was good to have someone else do the dirty work, as long as the matter wasn't spread.

So Young Master Huang said, "This has nothing to do with you all, just leave."

Granny Li understood what he meant and ordered her staff to clear everyone out.

Soon, only the woman, Young Master Huang, Granny Li, and her people remained around the building.

"Brat, let's see how I deal with you today. You two, go!" Granny Li said fiercely.

Young Master Huang relaxed once he saw no one else was around. He let them fight—no one knew the woman's identity, and he pretended not to know either. If something happened, it wouldn't be his responsibility.

"Don't you dare!" the woman shouted.

"Why wouldn't we dare? Go!" Granny Li ordered. Two people stepped forward to seize the woman. Facing two Profound Immortal-level opponents, she struggled.

Young Master Huang watched with amusement. But as his hand moved behind his back, a faint aura appeared at his fingertips—no one else noticed.

But Evan, not far away, noticed. "He's poisoning them again? What a despicable guy," he thought.

No one else on the scene noticed, as they kept fighting. The poison spread faster, and soon the woman and the two men felt something was wrong.

The woman exclaimed, "Despicable Huang! You're poisoning us again?"

"Which eye saw me poisoning you? Ridiculous. Stop using your power—she won't last much longer," Young Master Huang told the two.

Granny Li realized what was happening and quickly told her two men to retreat and rest, while the others kept watching the woman.

At this moment, the woman felt her power dissipate as soon as it reached her hands.

"Dispersing Powder!" the woman exclaimed in shock.

"That's right. You should know what kind of poison this is. If you don't get the antidote within half a day, your cultivation will be completely dissipated—years of work gone like water," Young Master Huang said with a smirk.

"You—you despicable man! Aren't you afraid my father will find out?" the woman shouted angrily.

"Your father? I don't know your father. All I know is you're here to kill me, brat. By rights, I should capture you and hand you over to the Misty Sacred Palace, but that's too much trouble, so I'll handle it myself. Isn't that right?" Young Master Huang said, directing his words to the people of Lixiang House.

Granny Li nodded, "Exactly. People like her need to be dealt with properly. But Young Master Huang, my two men were poisoned too. Give them the antidote."

"No problem. Here are two pills—just let each of them take one," Young Master Huang said, handing over two pills with a smile.
