Zoe Rainveil was shocked because her mother, Rainbow Court Mistress Rainveil, had borrowed Stellar Power from the Big Dipper, but only from a single star. According to her mother, borrowing Stellar Power depends on both comprehension and destiny—some people spend their whole lives unable to borrow even a trace.
Others might only borrow from some weak stars; borrowing power from a giant star like one of the Big Dipper is incredibly difficult. It was precisely because she could borrow power from the Big Dipper that Rainbow Court became one of the Ten Great Powers.
But now Evan Chu was saying he could actually borrow power from three stars—something absolutely unheard of. Judging by his tone, he might be able to borrow even more, and he had managed this even before ascending to the God Realm. If he ever fully borrows their power, who knows what kind of attack power he’ll have.
Evan Chu noticed Zoe Rainveil had been silent for a long time, as if lost in thought, so he asked, “Zoe, did I say something wrong? Or is there something off about my method of borrowing Stellar Power?”
“No, I was just shocked to hear you can borrow power from three stars of the Big Dipper. In the God Realm, no one has ever managed that. I believe your Stellar Power must be tremendous—it's just that your current strength is too low to fully control it.” Zoe snapped back to herself and replied immediately.
Evan Chu hadn’t expected the Stellar Power he comprehended from the Big Dipper to be so strong. But he knew there was an even more terrifying star—the Crimson Demon Star. Whoever manages to borrow its power will be the strongest, though their cultivation realm must be up to par.
If someone at the God-Man Realm tried to borrow the Crimson Demon Star’s power, they’d probably be blown apart by its overwhelming force before they could even use it. Everything has two sides.
“Haste makes waste. I only came to comprehend it by accident. Let’s not dwell on it too much—let things happen naturally. It’s late, and the sky’s full of clouds; it’s going to rain soon. We should head back.” Evan Chu said at that moment.
Zoe nodded and asked, “When will you go into seclusion?” Her words were brief, but concern was clear in her tone.
“Probably in the next few days. Without true strength, I can’t fulfill my mission. Frostbane Divine Palace was destroyed, and I have to find out who plotted against me—the mastermind behind it all. Plus, there’s the issue of the Crimson Demon Star reappearing in a hundred thousand years.” Evan Chu said.
"Rainbow Court has an underground chamber where the Divine Qi is extremely dense. You could go there for your seclusion—I think my mother would agree." Zoe said, then turned and left.
Such a gentle and understanding woman is truly rare, yet fate has twisted things so that she’s become his own daughter. After a crack of thunder, Evan Chu returned to his room.
Soon, rain poured down in torrents, splashing against the roof in a steady rush. Maybe this downpour could wash away Evan Chu’s worries. Amazingly, he actually fell asleep on his bed—something that almost never happened.
The next day dawned bright and sunny. Evan Chu slept until he woke naturally, then washed up and left his room. The post-rain air was especially fresh, and with all the vegetation in Rainbow Court, it felt incredibly soothing.
Just then, a maid walked over and said respectfully to Evan Chu, "Young Master Lin, the Mistress asks that you come to the side hall when you wake up. She has something to discuss with you."
"Got it. Lead the way." Evan Chu replied simply. He didn’t know what Rainveil wanted, but it was probably related to his seclusion.
When Evan Chu arrived at the side hall, he saw Rainveil was alone inside. "Rainveil, what did you want to talk about?" he asked directly. Though she was his woman, she still felt unfamiliar.
"Your strength is far too weak right now; you really do need to go into seclusion and cultivate. So I’ve decided to let you use Rainbow Court’s secret chamber. You’ll be able to train faster and be much safer there—even those who want to cause you trouble won’t be able to touch you." Rainveil said.
"Actually, I’ve thought of an even better place for my seclusion. I have the Timewheel Bracelet, so your chamber isn’t necessary. I want to go back to the mine I found when I first ascended—the one with all those supreme Violet Cloud Crystals. I’ll cultivate and dig up some crystals at the same time, since I’ll need them to rebuild Frostbane Imperial Palace someday.
It’s going to cost a fortune, so I shouldn’t waste the chance to gather resources. Besides, it should be safer—if I burrow thirty meters underground, not even you could hurt me there!" Evan Chu said.
"Thirty meters underground? That’s a scary number, but for a late-stage God-Venerable, it’s nothing. If someone borrows Stellar Power to attack, they could kill you even at fifty meters." Rainveil said.
"That strong? Then it’ll have to be kept absolutely secret. How about this: you personally go there, I’ll enter the Timewheel Bracelet, and you carry it to the mine. I can’t calm my mind for seclusion here; I’m sure you understand how I feel." Evan Chu said.
"Are you sure about this? If someone finds out where you are, it won’t be safe. You’ve made plenty of enemies—Drifting Cloud Guild, Heavenblade Sect, and Qintian Sword Sect all hate you to the bone. I’m really not comfortable with this." Rainveil said.
"My mind’s made up. As long as you don’t tell anyone, no one will know. You can tell the others I’m in the secret chamber, and you can quietly head to the mine. With your influence, that’s easy to arrange.
Rainveil, I still haven’t fully recovered my memories, so I can’t make you any promises yet. But remember this: when Frostbane Imperial Palace rises again in the God Realm, that’s when you’ll truly be my woman—and I’ll make sure everyone knows you were never abandoned by Frostbane.
But right now, it’s still too soon. After all these years, can’t you wait a little longer?" Evan Chu said seriously.
Rainveil thought for a long time before finally deciding, "Alright, I’ll agree to your request. But you need to take this sound-transmission jade. If you’re ever in danger, crush it immediately—no matter how far I am, I’ll come right away. When you break it, a temporary Teleportation Gate will appear."
Evan Chu had never seen such a miraculous sound-transmission jade before. He accepted it and put it into his storage ring, saying, "Thank you, Rainveil. I hope I’ll never need to use it. Let’s leave tomorrow—you go make the preparations."
"Should we tell Blue-Shade?" Rainveil asked.
"Better not. The fewer people who know, the better. I don’t want her worrying about me. Zoe, please talk to her for me—you’re her mother, maybe you’ll have a way." Evan Chu said.
"Understood. You should get ready too. I’ll let you know when it’s time."
With that, Evan Chu left the side hall, and a new chapter began...
PS: I was out for two days and didn’t have time to write or update. The next chapter will be posted after I get home this afternoon. Sorry, everyone!
