The Death of Logan Vaughn

1/19/2026

“Powerful, truly powerful. Right now, there’s probably no one in this realm who can stand against me!” Evan Chu muttered to himself, exhilarated by the overwhelming strength that came with awakening his bloodline.

Logan Vaughn was fast, but Evan Chu was even faster now. In just a few breaths, he caught up to Logan and appeared right in front of him. “Run! Why aren’t you running? Didn’t you say I was just a lowly ant, that killing me would be easier than squashing a bug? So why are you running now?”

Logan Vaughn never imagined things would turn out like this. If he’d known, he would’ve used his spatial domain to kill Evan right from the start. But who would’ve thought Evan had the Primordial Dragon Bloodline and could awaken it at such a critical moment, boosting his strength so much that now Logan wasn’t even a match for him? This kind of dramatic reversal was almost impossible to accept.

Logan Vaughn was the young master of one of the Immortal Realm’s Five Great Imperial Palaces—he’d never been mocked or insulted like this before. Now, being humiliated by someone who hadn’t even ascended to the Immortal Realm was more than he could take. “Don’t get cocky, kid! So what if you awakened the Primordial Dragon Bloodline? I can still kill you all the same!”

Evan Chu laughed coldly, “Big talk, but the sweat on your face betrays you. This time, I’ll pay you back—with interest!” As he spoke, a murderous aura surged from him, making Logan Vaughn shiver despite himself.

In a flash, Evan Chu’s figure blurred as he unleashed a Star-Cleave with his Frostbane Sword. This strike was far more powerful than the Star-Cleave he’d used earlier with Unicorn Arm—this was the strength of a breakthrough in cultivation, and it was hard to even imagine.

Seeing Evan Chu attack, Logan Vaughn couldn’t just sit and wait for death. He spun his longsword and conjured a sword-flower, instantly weaving a sword-net before him—the same move he’d used the first time they fought inside the spatial black hole.

“Overestimating yourself! You really think you can beat me this time? Keep dreaming!” Evan Chu bellowed. The sword-qi from his Frostbane Sword slammed into the sword-net, instantly dissolving most of the sword-qi within. By the time Logan Vaughn’s sword-qi reached Evan, it couldn’t even break his defenses—it vanished without a trace.

But Evan Chu’s sword-qi still landed—half of it struck Logan Vaughn, blasting him hundreds of meters away. Deep, bone-revealing wounds tore across his body, with even his internal organs shattered in places.

Evan Chu flashed over to the fallen Logan Vaughn, sneering, “Not satisfied? Get up and fight me again! Didn’t you want to fight me for Luna? Then get up and fight for her!”

Evan Chu stomped directly on Logan Vaughn’s face, grinding his foot in just enough to make Logan howl in pain. “You brat, I’ll fight you to the death!” Logan could no longer tolerate the humiliation—he exploded with power, scrambled to his feet, and swung a fist at Evan.

Evan Chu sneered, “You think that punch can beat me now? What a joke—I can do it too!” He unleashed a Demon-Breaking Fist, colliding with Logan Vaughn’s punch. A crisp crack rang out as bones shattered—Logan’s arm was torn apart by Evan’s fist-force, and he was sent flying yet again.

“What incredible fist-force! And that’s just an Earth-tier martial art—if it were Heaven-tier or higher, I could probably kill him outright. Awakening my bloodline really is insane.” Evan Chu said, delighted.

That strike left Logan Vaughn completely wrecked—his arm was ruined, and his body suffered severe internal injuries. With all the damage he’d already taken, he couldn’t even stand. He knew if he didn’t get help soon, he might die right here.

Evan Chu looked at Logan Vaughn like a victorious hunter eyeing his prey, a frightening joy written all over his face. He floated over and said, “Right now, you’re nothing but an ant to me. Killing you would only take a second. Any last words? Maybe I’ll pass them along for you.”

Despair crept into Logan Vaughn’s heart as he stared at Evan Chu. “I’m the young master of Coldshroud Imperial Palace—if you dare kill me, you’ll be making an enemy of the entire palace. Once you ascend to the Immortal Realm, you’ll be hunted everywhere. So if you know what’s good for you, let me go. Otherwise, you’re dead for sure.”

“Coldshroud Imperial Palace? Sounds impressive. So you’re the young master, huh? Forgive me for not showing proper respect. But I don’t like being threatened. I was going to let you go, but now I’ve changed my mind. If I kill you, nobody will ever know it was me—so you’d better just die.” Evan Chu’s face twisted into a wicked grin.

“You can’t kill me! You can’t! If you promise to let me go, I’ll give you all the immortal stones in my storage ring—plus every cultivation skill inside!” Logan Vaughn begged for his life, all his arrogance gone.

“Oh, so your storage ring is packed with treasures, huh? Let’s see if it’s worth sparing you. Don’t worry, I keep my word—it all depends on your attitude.” Evan Chu said with a smirk.

He took Logan Vaughn’s storage ring and checked it with his divine sense, only to find he couldn’t enter. “So you set a restriction on it. If your heart isn’t sincere, what use do I have for you?”

With that, Evan Chu raised his palm, ready to strike. Logan Vaughn, already deathly pale and hanging on by sheer will to survive, saw Evan about to kill him and immediately cried out, “Wait! Wait! I’ll lift the restriction!”

Logan Vaughn used his other hand to tap Evan Chu’s storage ring. “It’s unlocked. I hope you’ll keep your word and spare me.”

Evan Chu said nothing, but sent his divine sense into the storage ring—and was stunned by what he saw. Logan Vaughn really was loaded; his treasures were piled up like a mountain, and the number of immortal stones was staggering. Evan even spotted dozens of purple-glowing immortal stones he’d once seen in the Three Profound Pagoda—at least a hundred of them.

Jackpot. That was all Evan Chu could think. He withdrew his divine sense and said to Logan Vaughn, “You really think this pile of junk can save your life? Not a single Starstone in here—what use are you to me?”

Before Logan Vaughn could answer, Evan Chu’s Frostbane Sword had already pierced his heart. Anyone who dared compete with him for a woman had to die. Even at the moment of death, Logan Vaughn never understood what a Starstone was—he had tens of thousands of immortal stones in his ring, after all…
