"Men, machine gunners, guards—open fire! I’m a Jinling soldier; since last century, no one but Japanese devils has ever dared storm us!" General Kenneth Li shouted, his voice especially loud.
Instantly, the machine guns outside erupted in a storm of fire.
But the gunfire had barely started when it suddenly went dead silent!
"What’s going on?" Kenneth immediately grabbed his gun. The others sensed something was off too—without hesitation, they all rushed outside.
But the moment they stepped out of the barracks, the scene around them left them utterly stunned.
Outside the barracks, the scene was unreal. Over a hundred artillery pieces were aimed at them. Tanks were parked everywhere. Helicopters circled overhead—but there wasn’t a single pilot inside. Every gunship was being remotely controlled by some unseen powerhouse. As for the soldiers of the Jinling Military Region, they’d all been subdued: tied up like wild boars, stripped of any ability to fight.
"God Realm? God Realm experts!" Seeing all this, everyone instantly understood—only God Realm powers could seize control of a thousand-man military base in seconds.
And just as those words fell, a sly and familiar voice rang out.
"Kenneth Li, what’s wrong? Scared? It’s only been a day and you’ve already lost your nerve?"
The speaker was none other than Eagle King.
"God Realm? You actually broke through to the God Realm?" General Kenneth Li stared at the now radiant Eagle King, his face turning ghostly pale in an instant.
Just then, Bat King and Lion King stepped up—both of them had reached the God Realm too. And right behind them, Dragon King strolled over, spinning two heavy iron spheres in his hands. His eyes were half-lidded and lazy, as if he didn’t see anyone present as worth his time. With a single wave, he could wipe them all out.
"Four God Realms? Now we’re really screwed!" Even Gabriel Xue, a fellow war god, froze at the sight of so many top-tier experts—the lineup here was even scarier than what they’d faced in Japan.
"Don’t panic! Stay calm—remember, we’re soldiers!" Kenneth Li clenched his fists, stepped forward, and shouted, "All four Dharma Kings of the World Dominion Society have come to my Jinling Military Region. What, you think you can wipe out Jiangnan’s top military stronghold? Back in the day, even the Japanese couldn’t break Jinling—we stopped them cold. Today, I refuse to believe you’ll overturn the heavens!"
"You’ve got guts! Kenneth Li, you really are the top dog of Jiangnan’s military world—twenty years running and you’re still mouthing off to four God Realm monsters. Respect!" Dragon King smiled faintly and sauntered up. His God Realm aura exploded out—Kenneth Li instantly spat out a mouthful of blood.
"Commander!"
"Commander!"
The surrounding officers, including Gabriel Xue, immediately rushed over and formed a protective wall in front of Kenneth Li.
"A bunch of rabble! I should’ve killed you all that day—today I’ll finish the job!" Eagle King leapt out, his qi raging, the God Realm aura pouring off him.
"You dare? This is a national military stronghold—what you’re doing is straight-up treason!" Gabriel Xue shouted, but before he’d finished, his whole body was blasted flying.
"Kill them!" Eagle King’s eyes were bloodshot now, his killing intent boiling over.
"Hey, what’s the rush? Just killing them would be way too boring. Our cult leader has already seized the political center—we ought to use our brains too. If all we do is kill, how will we convince the masses? Besides, these guys are war heroes. We ought to give them some face and play with them a bit." Dragon King gave a cold, lazy smile.
"Yeah, boss is right. Kenneth Li’s such a big shot—just chopping him down with one swing would be a waste. Make him kneel to each of us, call us ‘Grandpa,’ then we’ll talk!" Lion King laughed.
"Right, he calls himself the toughest bone in the army—so let’s shatter his bones and make him kneel!" Bat King joined in, laughing.
"You—you bunch of bastards, you really dare?" Kenneth Li gritted his teeth. Everyone around him did too. (Note: '王八蛋' is a strong insult, roughly 'bastards' or 'sons of bitches.')
"Watch me!" Eagle King didn’t hesitate. God Realm qi swept out—there was a loud crack, and Kenneth Li’s kneecaps exploded. His legs buckled, and he collapsed, forced to kneel.
"Hold the commander up!" Gabriel Xue didn’t hesitate—he grabbed Kenneth, and the others held on too. Kenneth bit his lip, cursing nonstop.
"Damn, you guys are all hard as nails. Fine—let’s see how tough you are after I shatter every bone in your bodies!" Eagle King sneered. He unleashed a wave of God Realm qi. Instantly, the sound of cracking bones echoed out—almost everyone’s kneecaps shattered. One by one, they collapsed to the ground, blood splattering everywhere.
"Hang in there, brothers…" Kenneth shouted, but by now no one could stay standing. Several weaker officers fainted outright.
"Still trying to hold out? You’re just begging for it!" Eagle King spat, then stomped on Kenneth Li’s face, grinding it into the dirt. "Now say it—‘Everyone in the Jinling Military Region is a worthless bastard, a bunch of shit-eating scum!’ Say it!"
"Screw you and your mother! The World Dominion Society are nothing but beasts—lower than pigs and dogs!"
"Torture them to death for me! Snap their tendons—turn them all into human swine!" Dragon King shouted. (Note: 'human swine' or 'renzhi' is a historical torture—victims have their limbs cut off and live as limbless meat puppets.)
"Fine, leave it to me!" Eagle King laughed wildly, ready to get to work.
"I’ll help you! Just imagine—turning the entire Jinling Military Region into a camp full of human swine. That’s gotta be satisfying!" Bat King stepped up too. These two were clearly vicious pieces of work.
"A soldier can be killed but not humiliated!" Kenneth Li shouted. He’d rather die than suffer such disgrace. Just moments ago he’d returned as an anti-Japan hero—now he was facing torture at the hands of traitors. The bitterness burned inside him.
But right now, fate was utterly unfair—like nobody could change a thing.
"Rip Kenneth Li’s mouth open first!" Eagle King snarled, lunging at him.
"Stop!" A voice shouted from the back. Men and women stepped forward—Serena Yan, Sophie Su, Anqi Chen, and others. Even with disaster raining down, none of them tried to run or hide. The speaker was Guihai One-Blade.
Guihai One-Blade looked ancient now. His black hair had turned white—like he’d aged decades overnight.
"Guihai One-Blade, even a legendary blade god has his sunset years. Who’d have thought?" Dragon King sneered at Guihai’s aged appearance. Years ago, when Dragon King was just a Grandmaster, Guihai One-Blade had already reached the God Realm—a living legend he could never surpass. Now that hero’s glory has faded; he’s become a dying old man.
"Dragon King, I’m warning you—don’t go too far, or you’ll get what’s coming to you!" Guihai One-Blade stared him down.
"Retribution? Ha! I’d love to see it. Eagle King, Bat King—kill Kenneth Li first. Then slaughter Ryan Ling’s parents. Then finish off this useless old relic, Guihai One-Blade. I want to see if heaven dares punish me!" Dragon King laughed maniacally. Eagle King and Bat King raised their blades at once.
"Life and death together! I don’t ask to live as one, only to die as one. What a thrill, what a thrill!" Kenneth Li threw back his head and laughed, utterly unafraid.
"You dog! I’ll smash your skull right now!" Eagle King, long past patience, swung his blade straight at Kenneth Li’s head. In the blink of an eye, Kenneth was about to die with no grave to bury him.
"We don’t ask to live together, only to die together. Even if I end up a vengeful ghost in Hell, I’ll fight these bastards to the bitter end!"
At that moment, everyone’s eyes locked onto Eagle King. If Kenneth died, none of them would survive.
But just as the whole army was about to be wiped out, at that critical moment, the eastern sea suddenly blazed with golden light—like a second sun rising. A lone figure strode in from the waves, each step kicking up surges tens of meters high. It was as if the true Dragon King himself had arrived to kill…
