Legend of the Heavenly Dao Necropolis

2/27/2026

The Poison Alchemist was hiding in his room, muttering to himself, "That guy probably won't remember me, right?"

He'd repeated this phrase hundreds of times, but just as he tried to settle his nerves, a voice sounded from outside: "Stop hiding. I know you're in there."

Hearing Evan Yang's voice, the Poison Alchemist, with nowhere to escape, walked out gloomily and awkwardly said after seeing Evan, "You're here."

"What? Not happy to see me?" Evan smiled.

"No, that's not it," the Poison Alchemist replied gloomily.

"Alright, let's skip the nonsense. The Poison Canon—I know you can find its origin." Evan came here for the Poison Canon. He already had two parts; with the Poison Canon, all three would be united.

Last time, the Poison Alchemist had just made things up—who knew if it was true or not. Now, under Evan's pressure, he trembled and said, "I don't know."

"Don't know? Last time you said it was somewhere, now you claim you don't know?" Evan didn't believe him—after all, where else would he have gotten his poison pill recipes?

"I—I really don't know," the Poison Alchemist insisted.

"Looks like you won't tell the truth," Evan strolled up to the already retreating Poison Alchemist, scaring him even more.

"Well? Are you going to talk or not?" Evan asked.

"I—I found it in a pile of corpses," the Poison Alchemist finally couldn't hold back and confessed.

"Pile of corpses? Where?" Evan asked, curious.

"The Heavenly Dao Necropolis!" the Poison Alchemist replied.

"Heavenly Dao Necropolis? What kind of place is that?" Evan asked doubtfully.

"It's a burial ground for Heavenly Dao experts. Only the famous Heavenly Dao experts of the Chaos World will end up there before dying, choosing a spot to sit in meditation, pass away, or reincarnate to cultivate again, hoping to be stronger next time," the Poison Alchemist explained.

"Sit in meditation? Heavenly Dao experts sitting in meditation? That must be some ancient monster," Evan muttered.

"I'm telling the truth. If you don't believe me, you can ask the sect master—he knows about the Heavenly Dao Necropolis too," the Poison Alchemist said.

"Alright, you know what's good for you," Evan said, then left. The Poison Alchemist took a deep breath and muttered gloomily, "Damn it, how did it end up like this?"

After Evan left, he returned to the sect master's hall and found Gavin. Seeing Gavin go out for a bit and come back in, she curiously asked, "So soon?"

"I just went out for a walk, nothing special," Evan replied.

"Then keep me company and let's walk around here," Gavin said with a smile. Evan nodded, so the two of them strolled around. There were artificial hills and future waterways—it felt like an independent world.

As they walked, Evan grew curious and asked, "What exactly is the Heavenly Dao Necropolis?"

Gavin was stunned for a moment. "Why are you asking about that?"

"I'm really curious. What kind of place is the Heavenly Dao Necropolis, to have a name like that?" Evan said.

"The Heavenly Dao Necropolis is where all Heavenly Dao experts fall. Before a Heavenly Dao expert dies or sits in meditation, they are automatically teleported there. Some have even walked out alive, which is how people later learned about the place," Gavin explained.

Evan was stunned by Gavin's words. "Even Heavenly Dao experts can't resist the laws that teleport them over?"

"Yes, that's right. Actually, Heavenly Dao experts aren't invincible—they can die too," Gavin replied.

Evan understood. Based on his knowledge of this world, any law that could bind Heavenly Dao must be extremely powerful. He wondered who the master of such a law could be.

Seeing Evan lost in thought, Gavin asked, "What's wrong?"

"It's nothing, just thinking about some things," Evan replied.

"Are you two getting all lovey-dovey?" A voice suddenly sounded—it was none other than Brandon White.

Seeing Brandon, Evan greeted respectfully, "Senior White."

"I heard you got the Divine Pill Chapter?" Brandon asked curiously.

"Yeah, I got it," Evan replied.

"Let me see," Brandon said excitedly. Evan took out the Divine Pill Chapter, and Brandon browsed it before saying, "Not bad, that's a real treasure."

"I told you before, if you got the Divine Pill Chapter, come find me. Now I'll share some things about the Alchemy Canon and Divine Pill Chapter," Brandon said.

Evan was naturally excited to hear the stories behind the Alchemy Canon and Divine Pill Chapter.

Brandon explained, "The Refining-Pill Divine Canon is divided into three parts: the Alchemy Canon, the Divine Pill Chapter, and the Poison Canon. Each was taken by a different person and then disappeared. It's said that whoever reunites the full text can refine a pill so powerful that even Heavenly Dao experts would covet it. While no one knows exactly what it is, I suspect it's the legendary Heaven-Defying Dragon Pill—a medicine that lets a Heavenly Dao expert skip billions of years of cultivation and possibly transcend Heavenly Dao itself, though who knows if that's true."

"Transcend Heavenly Dao?" Evan echoed, confirming his suspicions that there are beings stronger than Heavenly Dao in this world. Otherwise, the Heavenly Dao Necropolis wouldn't exist. Evan was shocked—who would go so far as to build a massive necropolis just for Heavenly Dao experts?

"Yes, transcend Heavenly Dao. Have you heard of the Heavenly Dao Necropolis?" Brandon asked.

"I just talked about it with Miss White," Evan replied.

"Oh? What a coincidence. Let's keep talking. This place has existed since ancient times, so Heavenly Dao experts suspect there must be something stronger than Heavenly Dao in this world, though no one has found it yet," Brandon said.

Heavenly Dao? Evan wondered what breaking through Heavenly Dao would be like, but he still asked, "Is the Heavenly Dao Necropolis dangerous?"

"You could say that. After all, everyone there is a Heavenly Dao expert. If you're not careful, you might run into someone with deep grievances—such beings, even before dying, want to drag others down with them. Even Heavenly Dao experts don't dare enter lightly," Brandon said.

Hearing this, Evan frowned. If that's true, he'd have to be careful about going to the Heavenly Dao Necropolis. At least, he wasn't planning to go yet—maybe someday when the opportunity came.

"I see," Evan said.

"Let me tell you something else. It's said that someone once found the Poison Canon in the Heavenly Dao Necropolis. If you truly unite all three, you might uncover the secret of transcending Heavenly Dao," Brandon said with a smile.

Hearing Brandon also knew about this, Evan was even more convinced the Poison Alchemist hadn't lied. Evan smiled and said, "Easier said than done."

"You'll have your chance. I believe in you. I used to think it was impossible for you to get the Divine Pill Chapter, but now..." Brandon smiled.

Evan smiled, "Thank you."

"Alright, let's talk about you two. You're not going to wait until the child is born to tell me, are you?" Brandon had known all along, and he'd mentioned it to Gavin before, though Evan hadn't known at the time.

Evan replied awkwardly, "Sorry, Senior, it's my fault."

"That's all you have to say?" Brandon laughed.

Evan smiled, "I want to marry her!"

"You can marry her, but I want everyone in the Heavenly Dao World to know," Brandon said with a smile.

"Heavenly Dao World?" Evan was skeptical upon hearing of such a place.

"That's right, the Heavenly Dao World is full of Heavenly Dao experts. It's a place created by many of them so they can communicate easily. I just came back from meeting some old friends there," Brandon explained.

"I see. Alright, but I want to visit my parents first and bring them here," Evan said.

"That's exactly what I was thinking. Go ahead, and when your parents arrive, I'll arrange for you to enter the Heavenly Dao World," Brandon smiled.

Evan was curious about what kind of place the Heavenly Dao World was—whether it was more suitable for tempering himself. After all, only Heavenly Dao experts could truly challenge him now, and finding suitable opponents in the Chaos World was difficult. The Heavenly Dao World seemed perfect for him.

Gavin spoke up, "Dad, I'll go with him. I want to see his home and family."

"You, so eager before you're even married. Of course I agree. Go ahead, and come find me when you return," Brandon said.

Gavin smiled, "Thank you so much."

Evan added gratefully, "Thank you, Senior."

"Go on, hurry back," Brandon said. Evan nodded, took Gavin, and left, returning to the Chaos World.

As they walked through the Chaos World, Gavin asked curiously, "Which plane is your home in?"

"When I drifted through the chaos, I ended up in a place where I encountered turmoil and entered a plane. Now I need to find that plane first, then use it to find my way home," Evan explained.

"Alright," Gavin smiled.

On their long journey, Evan told Gavin all about his friends, both male and female, introducing each one. He finally explained that several of his female companions were kept inside one of his treasures.

Gavin asked curiously, "Why are you only telling me now?"

"Telling you now is just as good," Evan smiled.

"Really? Then call them out—they can keep me company too," Gavin said.

Evan replied awkwardly, "If they all come out, it'll be too many. Let's go inside, I'll use a clone to lead the way."

With that, Evan left a clone behind, while his true self entered with Gavin. Soon, Mu Yun and Lin Yue came over, and Evan explained, "Gavin, the sect master of Medicine King Heaven, and my future wife."

Hearing this, Lin Yue and Mu Yun were both envious. Gavin was a woman, and from their perspective, they envied her greatly. Gavin herself wondered if Evan noticed their feelings for him.

Evan didn't notice. After introducing Gavin, he went on to introduce the women from the Immortal Realm and his birthplace, even bringing out You Shuang.

Seeing the cold beauty, Gavin praised, "She's gorgeous."

"She's also my wife," Evan replied awkwardly, worried Gavin might be upset.

Instead, Gavin laughed, "Then I should call you Big Sister."
