Evan Yang shook his head and said, "Not really, you're overthinking it."
"Then why did you even bring it up?" Gavin White said, feeling frustrated.
"Alright, let's drop it. Let's hurry and check out Blaze Mountain Territory." Evan said. Gavin had no choice but to follow Evan to the front of Blaze Mountain Territory.
Evan said, "Give it a try—see if you can move it."
Gavin tried the mnemonic, and sure enough, the mountain moved. Evan smiled, "Looks like it's real. Keep studying it—a Heavenly Dao artifact shouldn't be limited to just moving around."
Gavin nodded and slowly took control. Under her guidance, the mountain gradually shrank until it was only palm-sized, radiating a purple glow.
"So this is Purple Sky Mountain's true form?" Evan asked curiously.
"Maybe. I wonder just how powerful Purple Sky Mountain really is—and why so many people chased after it back then," Gavin muttered.
"Keep studying it," Evan told Gavin.
So Gavin continued researching while Evan watched from the side. He knew his strange conch and the Tower of Heaven were both Heavenly Dao artifacts, each with their own strengths. This artifact definitely wasn't weak either, so Evan was looking forward to seeing what it could do.
After a while, Gavin sat cross-legged with her eyes closed, and Purple Sky Mountain hovered above her head.
A beam of purple light wrapped around her, spinning rapidly. Evan reached out to touch it, but was instantly bounced back.
He frowned. "Could it be a defensive artifact?"
Curious, Evan wanted to know how Gavin's research was going. After nearly an hour, Gavin finally opened her eyes. Evan asked, "How did it go?"
"It's truly extraordinary. Guess what I discovered," Gavin said with a smile.
"Tell me!" Evan was already impatient to know.
"I studied this artifact and found it has its own spirit. Since it's a Heavenly Dao artifact, I communicated with it. Turns out, Purple Sky Mountain can release a short burst of purple light that blocks any attack. No matter how strong you are, I can defend against you. But its true purpose is soul defense—even without the purple light, it can reduce soul damage by eighty percent," Gavin said with a smile.
Evan was shocked by Gavin's explanation. "That's insane!"
"Yeah, but there's a drawback—the purple light only lasts a short while, and takes days to recharge. So it's not invincible, but in a pinch it's amazing. No wonder so many people fought over it back then," Gavin said with a smile.
"Perfect, I'll leave it with you. With this by your side, I feel much more at ease," Evan said with a smile.
"I'm stronger than you. If anything, I should give it to you," Gavin replied.
"Don't forget, I have the Strange Spiral Shell—that's a Heavenly Dao artifact," Evan refused.
Gavin relaxed after hearing Evan's words. At least Evan's artifact was truly extraordinary—like a turtle shell, once inside, no one could catch him.
Seeing Gavin willing to put it away, Evan smiled, "Let's go. We've wasted enough time here—the banquet should be starting soon."
"Yeah, let's go," Gavin said with a smile.
The two quickly reappeared on the Yang Clan's main star. At this moment, the planet was crowded with families. When they saw Evan's looks, they couldn't help but praise him—some even tried to propose marriage. Luckily, Gavin was at his side, explaining to everyone that Evan already had a wife.
By the time the real festivities began, Evan was exhausted and pulled Gavin to the rear hall, sighing, "These people..."
"I didn't expect you to be so popular. As soon as they see you, they introduce you to new matches—even ones you've never met. Why did you reject them all?" Gavin asked curiously.
"Do you really think I'm that kind of guy?" Evan sighed.
"Who knows? What if a few show up that make your blood boil—wouldn't you be lucky then?" Gavin said with a laugh.
"Alright, enough teasing me," Evan said awkwardly.
"You can still get shy?" Gavin laughed.
Evan replied helplessly, "What do you think?"
Just then, Evan's mother passed by and smiled, "What are you two doing here? Go out and greet the guests!"
Evan said, feeling frustrated, "Mom, I'd rather not. You guys handle it instead."
"You... Fine, I won't expect much from you. Just remember to come out later," Evan's mom said with a smile.
After Evan's mom left, Gavin asked, "Your mom seems really nice."
"Of course," Evan replied with a smile.
"Too bad. My mom was killed by another Heavenly Dao expert when I was little. But my dad refuses to tell me who it was—he says that person stands at the peak of Heavenly Dao, and if I go after them, I'll just get killed," Gavin sighed.
Hearing this, Evan realized for the first time how Gavin lost her mother. He said, "Don't worry—one day, you'll get closure for your mother's story."
"Thanks," Gavin said with a smile.
Just then, things got lively outside—but not in a festive way. There were screams and cries of pain.
Evan and Gavin's expressions changed drastically. They rushed out and saw many people writhing on the ground, while the Yang Clan was surrounded by a group of strangers.
"Who are you?" Evan asked.
"Us? Evan Yang, you're really forgetful." At that moment, a stranger walked in—someone Evan didn't recognize, but the aura felt familiar. Then the man's face shifted, and Evan exclaimed, "It's you!"
"That's right, Evan Yang. It's me. Long time no see—did you miss me? Do you know how long I've waited for you here? You finally came back," the man said with a smile.
"Immortal Lord Lin, back then Palace Lord Nangong said you could revive from a single grain of dust. I didn't believe it, but you really managed it. Damn it!" Evan said angrily.

That person was none other than Immortal Lord Lin—the Shard-Bug fused expert from Ethereal Sanctuary.
"You still recognize me? Hard to believe. That's right, I revived back then. And to kill you, I've kept devouring Shard Bugs—now, you can't compete with me. If you kneel and call me 'grandpa,' maybe I'll spare your relatives," Immortal Lord Lin laughed. Over the years, he'd suffered a lot, all for the day he could defeat Evan Yang.
Today was the chance Immortal Lord Lin had been waiting for, but he didn't know that Evan Yang was no longer the same as before.
"What if I told you that you still pose no threat to me today? Would you believe it?" Evan said with a smile.
"I don't believe you. You think reaching Immortal Sovereign is impressive? Let me tell you, I can now unleash God-Realm power! In the Immortal Realm, no one can defeat me! Hahaha!" Immortal Lord Lin laughed wildly.
"Sigh, you really overestimate yourself," Evan said.
"Is that all you can say? Watch how I destroy you!" Immortal Lord Lin snorted coldly.
But just as he was about to act, something pressed against him. "I told you, your strength still isn't enough." It was Evan—he was already at Lin's side, one hand at his throat. With a squeeze, he could end him.
"Impossible! How can this be?" Immortal Lord Lin couldn't believe it.
"Nothing's impossible. Today, I'll finish you off—along with your followers." The people behind Lin were the ones he'd trained and Shard-Bug fused monsters.
Immortal Lord Lin was shocked—he'd planned to humiliate Evan, but before he could even act, he was subdued. He tried to escape.
But before he could move, Evan immobilized him. The hold only lasted a moment before Lin could move again—Evan realized it was because Lin was fused with Shard Bugs, his body constantly changing. Facing this, Evan decided to cripple him first.
Evan struck several vital points on him, then sealed him. Immortal Lord Lin was pinned in place, furious and shocked. "You—!"
The others tried to flee, but Gavin simply waved her hand and they all collapsed. In a flash, everyone from the surrounding families and Yang Clan was stunned by Gavin's power—just how strong was she?
Evan smiled, "Immortal Lord Lin, anything else to say?"
"Don't get cocky, Evan Yang. I've already left a grain of dust behind— you'll never truly destroy me," Immortal Lord Lin snorted.
"You really are a monster," Evan sighed. There was nothing else he could do, so he stored Lin away, planning to ask Lord Woodspirit for help later.
Seeing the crisis resolved, the Yang Clan leader quickly told everyone, "It's alright, everything's fine—let's continue."
Though it was just a brief episode, the strength of Evan and Gavin left a deep impression on everyone present.
Evan and Gavin took their seats, but Evan couldn't stop thinking about what just happened. The sudden appearance of such an enemy in the Yang Clan showed that the clan wasn't safe—there could be more monsters hiding out there.
This made Evan start worrying about his family, afraid Immortal Lord Lin would cause more trouble from the shadows.
"Looks like I need to come up with a plan," Evan muttered to himself.
Seeing Evan frown, Gavin asked with concern, "What's wrong?"
"It seems the Yang Clan's situation isn't good. I need to do a thorough investigation. Over the next few days, help me out," Evan said.
"No problem. This is my home now too—I'll help you all the way," Gavin said with a smile.
With Gavin's words, Evan felt much better. After the banquet, he gathered the Yang Clan leader and a few others.
They all knew it must be about what just happened, which was why Evan was so anxious to call them over.
"The people today weren't ordinary—they were fused with Shard Bugs," Evan said. The others were shocked.
"You saw it yourselves—they can disguise themselves. I'm worried there might be more lurking within the Yang Clan's territory, so I plan to conduct a thorough search," Evan said.
"I support you. What are you planning to do?" the Yang Clan leader asked.
