Do Ants Deserve to Fight a Dragon

1/5/2026

Right now, Ryan Ling has no idea that Linda Ling has already rounded up a bunch of people to come after him. This so-called cousin of his is so vicious that she makes a viper look friendly—whenever he crosses her path, she expects him to roll over like a lapdog, never daring to stand equal with her.

At the moment, Ryan is being led to the men’s dorms by a female counselor. Since he’s officially enrolled at Jinling University, he might as well stay a few nights—and it’s been ages since he last lived on campus.

"Ryan, these are your three new roommates—introduce yourselves!" The beautiful counselor spoke, her chest rising and falling; even the chubby guy next to her was totally mesmerized.

"Wow, Miss Counselor is gorgeous—I’m practically drooling over here!"

"Dude, act normal! Hi Counselor, I’m Lin Zhuang, I’m super strong—if you ever need anything heavy lifted, just call me!" The burly roommate hurried to shake the counselor’s hand.

"What are you doing? Be civilized! Don’t just grab the counselor’s hand—watch me…" The skinny guy with glasses suddenly tripped and nearly lunged straight into the counselor’s arms.

Ryan was nearly speechless—these three were total weirdos. Instead of welcoming their new classmate, all their attention was glued to the counselor.

Before the counselor could even scream, Ryan flashed forward and blocked her from the incoming roommate.

Ryan didn’t even use any force, but the four-eyed kid still got flung away, ending up with a bruised nose and a swollen face in an instant.

The three of them had been hoping to get a little handsy with the pretty counselor, but in the end, she hid behind Ryan, and his back got all the benefits instead.

Boss, have a smoke!

Boss, I’ve got booze! I even bought a roast duck—let’s have a drink!

With the three guys crowding around him, Ryan sat down. Someone had already made up his bed, and the smokes, booze, and roast duck were all laid out.

Alright, sit down—since fate put us in the same dorm, we’re brothers now. Don’t worry, no one’s going to bully you guys from now on! Ryan was pleased with their attitude.

The four of them drank, smoked, and chatted about girls and fun stuff.

This is college life—just light up a smoke, crack open a drink, and you’re brothers. No one’s got any hidden agenda; you can talk about anything, anywhere. It’s real freedom.

Boss, you know who’s the most badass freshman this year? The fat guy was a total gossip king—he knew all the Jinling University rumors, even which female teachers were hot or wild.

Who? Lin Zhuang flexed his muscles and snorted.

You won’t believe it—it’s not a guy but a girl named Linda Ling! the fat guy said right away.

Linda Ling? And she’s a girl? Pfft! Lin Zhuang and Four-Eyes both waved dismissively, but Ryan was momentarily stunned—he quickly recovered and asked calmly.

What’s so badass about her? I don’t see it, haha!

Ryan’s joke made Lin Zhuang and Four-Eyes burst out laughing.

But the fat guy blushed and said, 'Don’t underestimate her—she’s not that strong herself, but her social skills are top-notch. She’s a famous social butterfly and knows tons of local punks. I heard that if she so much as crooks her finger, they’ll risk their lives for her!'

The fat guy took a swig of booze and added, 'And I heard someone pissed her off at the campus gate this morning—she’s gathering her crew to go after him, and she swore she’d make him eat dog shit in front of the whole school!'

Really? You’re sure she said that? Ryan smiled coldly and clenched his fist.

No doubt—I heard it myself. Just now, her crew was hanging out in the campus park. I counted at least a dozen, and among them was a notorious thug named Scarface He. He’s famous around here, and I hear he’s killed people before! the fat guy swore.

Scarface He’s here too? Lin Zhuang seemed to know the guy—he sucked in a breath. 'Scarface is trouble. He’s backed by the East Star Gang, the toughest crew around here. Mess with them and you’re dead!'

Damn, that’s scary. So the guy who pissed off Linda Ling this morning is about to get chopped to pieces! Four-Eyes was clearly the most timid—he went pale at the news.

No doubt—don’t ever mess with that woman. When she goes nuts, even guys are scared. We better stay clear of girls like her! the fat guy added.

As they nervously chatted, their teeth almost chattering, a sudden chorus of footsteps sounded from outside.

A group’s coming this way—the leader looks like a woman! Lin Zhuang was quick; he rushed to the door.

That’s her—Linda Ling. This is the freshman dorm, so I guess a freshman pissed her off. Which one of us is that gutsy? The fat guy sniffed, nervous.

It’s me! Ryan pulled up a chair and sat right in the doorway.

Boss, it’s you? The three were shocked. Seeing Linda Ling heading their way, it was clear she was coming for their dorm. Her crew looked fierce, all holding rolled-up newspapers—clearly hiding weapons inside.

Alright, this has nothing to do with you guys—just go inside. I’ll handle them myself! Ryan crossed his legs, looking like a clay Buddha in a temple, totally unfazed by the incoming gang.

At first, Ryan didn’t want to do anything to Linda Ling—there was still a little blood tie. But now, seeing how arrogant and overbearing she was, he knew he had to teach her a lesson. Otherwise, she’d always think he was easy to bully.

The three roommates felt bad, but they were scared of Linda Ling—especially the guy with the knife scars. He was none other than Scarface He, openly carrying a machete, scraping it along the wall with a nasty sound.

A bunch of freshmen poked their heads out. Earlier, everyone was chatting loudly because the new school was exciting, but now the whole floor was dead silent—everyone knew something big was about to go down. These people were trouble.

'Put your heads back in, unless you want to get chopped!' Linda Ling snorted coldly, totally queen bee. She clearly saw herself as the boss among freshmen. Next to her, a tough girl held a stinky bag—yep, it was full of dog shit.

The freshmen quickly ducked their heads as Linda Ling’s crew headed for Ryan’s dorm. Everyone knew someone was about to get wrecked.

'Open up! Open the damn door!' At the door, a thug kicked it so hard the frame shook.

Inside, the fat guy and the others shrank back on their beds—after all, they were just freshmen. No way they’d stand up to Scarface He and his crew.

Coming! Ryan said, slowly opening the door.

That’s him—grab him! As soon as Linda Ling saw Ryan, she screamed, her voice full of hatred as if she wanted to eat him alive…
