"What the hell!" The young man clutched his bleeding head. "Why did I get struck by Retribution Lightning? I was just taking a bath! What did I do?"

In the Divine Realm, the order is strict: once you've survived tribulation and proven yourself to the Heavenly Dao, you can't just break the rules.

Otherwise, Retribution Lightning will come for you.

Getting hit by Retribution Lightning hurts like hell!

He held his head and stared at the sky for a long time. Thankfully, there wasn't a second strike.

So, he fumbled back into the water, muttering nonstop: "Was it the Crown Prince? He must've gone to the Guardian Drake's temple down in the mortal world! Even prayed there! Ugh! Why? Why me? What did I do wrong? Ouch..."

...

Grace ran into a young monk outside and told him about the crack in the statue.

"There's a crack?" The young monk asked in surprise.

"Yep!" Grace replied.

"How is that possible? My master said the statue in the main hall is gilded and has stood here for centuries, full of spiritual energy. How could it crack?"

"No idea!" Grace shook her head, a bit uneasy.

"I'll go find my master!" The young monk hurried inside.

Once he left, Evan Xiao said, "Now that we've finished worshipping the Dragon God, can we go home?"

"No way!" Grace stood on tiptoe, peering inside. "I have to wait for the monks to come out and ask what happened."

"It's probably just the heat." Evan Xiao said. "They call it a Dragon God, but it's just a clay statue. It cracked from the heat, that's all."

"Don't say that!" Grace covered his mouth. "Didn't you hear the young monk say the statue is gilded and packed with spiritual energy? Stop calling it a clay statue, okay?"

Evan Xiao, mouth covered: "..."

Soon enough, the young monk really did bring the old monk over.

Grace's eyes lit up when she saw the old monk. She walked over and bowed, "Master Sage Dao, you came in person!"

Master Sage Dao smiled and returned the greeting, "Amitabha! Little benefactor, we meet again!"

"Master, you still remember me?" Grace asked, pleasantly surprised.

"You're the Prime Minister's Eldest Daughter, Grace. I was the one who consecrated your sword." Master Sage Dao said.

"That's right! That's right! I can't believe, with so many people asking for your blessing that day, you still remember me?"

"Of course. Such talent as yours is one in ten thousand—how could I forget?"

"Master, when we were worshipping the Dragon God just now, the statue suddenly cracked! Could you take a look and see what's going on?"

Master Sage Dao saw her anxiety and gave a reassuring smile. "Don't worry, benefactor! It's nothing serious! It's just a clay and wood statue, too much incense over the years, it couldn't take it anymore!"

"Huh? Why does that sound exactly like what Evan Xiao said?"

But saying that is basically blasphemy!

Grace frowned, "Master, the statue cracked while my friend was worshipping. Could it be... a bad omen?"

Master Sage Dao looked at Evan Xiao.

Evan Xiao met his gaze without flinching.

"From your friend's face, I see great fortune—he will turn misfortune into blessing, and his future will be illustrious! No need to worry about him, miss."

Grace instantly cheered up and grinned, "Thank you for your kind words, Master!"

Master Sage Dao said, "Amitabha!"

At this, Evan Xiao performed a Buddhist salute and said, "I am Evan Xiao. I've tried to meet Master many times, but was always turned away. May I be so lucky as to seek your guidance today?"
