The Girl Who Confessed

1/4/2026

Whoever dares to date my brother is basically courting disaster!

Way too shrewd!

Way too cunning!

Way too wicked!

Nora Yin listened to the girls around her complaining, then walked up to the girl being surrounded and said earnestly, "Don’t get ideas about my brother just because he’s handsome and the heir to the Yin Family."

The girls nearby chimed in, "Exactly! Look at your status! Do you really think you’re worthy of confessing to Young Master Ethan Yin?"

"Do you think the Yin Family is something a girl like you can reach for? You should know your place! You’re from a minor family, acting like you’re some kind of aristocrat? Even among nobles, there are ranks! The lowest rank, just forget it!"

The dorms at Saint Diana Academy were all standard two-story villas.

The girl's face grew even paler.

"I just don’t want to give people a reason to gossip." Cherry replied seriously. "After all, I’m Miss Nora’s personal chief assistant, and I do get to spend a lot of time with Young Master Ethan and Young Master Miles. But if I can’t keep my distance from the two young masters, it could reflect badly on Miss Nora and both of you. I just want to do my job quietly—I’m not trying to get involved in anything else."

Because Nora's status was so unique, she lived in the same villa with Cherry Miller, Ethan Yin, and Miles Gu. Other students were separated into boys’ and girls’ areas.

Wait, what did Nora just say?

Did Nora really say Ethan Yin wasn’t good enough for this girl?

What kind of joke is that?!

Ethan Yin is the top male idol!

How could there be a girl he isn’t good enough for?

Only girls who aren’t good enough for him, right?

But since Nora said it, no one dared refute her.

After all, they were both Yins—anything Nora said was fair game.

If anyone else said it, it wouldn’t be appropriate.

Nora kept up her heartfelt advice: "Don’t think my brother is all that just because he’s handsome! He’s really not! My brother is mean, cunning, and totally heartless. Most importantly, he’s completely clueless about romance—he never gives girls any attention. What’s the point of a boring, stiff guy like that? Look around, there are plenty of other great options! Choosing my brother is the worst possible choice!"

The girls around were practically dizzy from shock.

Oh my god, Miss Nora, is it really okay for you to talk about your own brother like that?

"So, you can confess to anyone—but just don’t confess to my brother, got it?" Nora patted the girl’s shoulder, then added gently, "Alright, everyone else, you can leave. Look at you, you’re all dirty and a mess! Where’s your dorm? Cherry, go with her and help her freshen up. And don’t worry about anything, okay?"

"Cherry! Help this girl freshen up." Nora waved at Cherry Miller. "I’ll head back on my own."

"Yes, Miss Nora." Cherry Miller lowered her head and accepted the task, then walked over to the girl and smiled, "Come with me. I’ll help you find a spare school uniform."

The girl obediently followed Cherry Miller back to her dorm.

The dorms at St. Diya Academy were all standard two-story villas.

Red brick walls, silver pointed roofs—each villa housed four people and had its own kitchen, study, sitting room, storage, and bathroom, plus a large shared living room and kitchen.

So the villas were huge—truly fit for nobles.

Because Nora’s status was so unique, she lived in the same villa with Cherry Miller, Ethan Yin, and Miles Gu. Other students were separated into boys’ and girls’ areas.

Cherry Miller followed the disheveled girl back to her dorm, found her a spare school uniform, and helped her wash up and change into fresh clothes.

Just as Cherry was about to leave, the girl suddenly grabbed her sleeve, timidly asking, "Could you help me with something?"

Cherry raised an eyebrow.

She was Nora’s personal chief assistant—she only served Nora.

She had the right to refuse anyone else's request.

Even Ethan Yin and Miles Gu.

But seeing the girl’s timid gaze, Cherry’s heart softened. "What is it?"

Encouraged by Cherry’s response, the girl gathered her courage and said, "I really do like Young Master Ethan."

Cherry’s expression didn’t change. "Mm."

"Could you please help me give this to Young Master Ethan?" The girl still wasn’t ready to give up.

She handed the gift she’d prepared for Ethan Yin to Cherry Miller with both hands.

"Please, can you help me?" The girl pleaded, looking at Cherry. "I really... I really like him!"

"If you like him, you should give it to him yourself." Cherry didn’t take the gift, replying calmly, "If there’s nothing else, I’ll be going now."

But the girl immediately clung to Cherry’s arm, refusing to let go. "Cherry, please help me! You live with Young Master Ethan, you’re the only one who can see him!"

Cherry sighed softly. "Alright, just this once. Next time, don’t ask me again. I’ll deliver it for you, but whether he accepts it or not is up to him—I won’t interfere."

"Thank you, thank you!" The girl happily stuffed the gift for Ethan Yin into Cherry’s hands, watching with hopeful eyes as Cherry left.

Cherry held the gift and returned to her own dorm.

She stood outside Ethan Yin’s room and knocked. "Young Master Ethan, are you in?"

Ethan Yin’s voice came from inside. "Come in."

Cherry Miller opened the door and heard the sound of running water from the bathroom. She figured Ethan Yin had just finished working out and was washing off the fatigue.

Cherry placed the gift on the coffee table in the sitting room. "Someone asked me to deliver this to you. I’ve left it on the table—whether you accept it or not is your decision. I’ll take my leave."

After saying this, Cherry turned to leave.

"Wait a second." The bathroom door swung open. Ethan Yin came out in a pale gold bathrobe, towel-drying his hair. He glanced at the box on the table and asked, "Who sent it? And what is it?"

"No idea. Take a look yourself. If there’s nothing else—" Cherry hadn’t finished her sentence when Ethan Yin had already opened the box, glanced inside, and tossed it aside. He walked over to Cherry: "You didn’t even check what it was before giving it to me. What if it’s a bomb?"

"You’re overthinking…" Cherry turned away, but Ethan Yin suddenly stepped closer, and they were almost touching.

Cherry instinctively stepped back, trying to put some distance between them.

But she hadn’t noticed the edge of the bookshelf behind her—she was about to bump into it.

Ethan Yin quickly steadied Cherry by the waist. "Careful…"

Fresh from his shower, Ethan Yin’s scent—shower gel mixed with his strong masculine aura—washed over her.

Cherry Miller felt her heart skip a beat.

She froze, unable to move.

Cherry was only 1.6 meters tall, while Ethan Yin was 1.9—a full 30 centimeters taller. Her gaze landed right on his strong chest, tried to look away, but saw his eight-pack abs, then his long, powerful legs…

How is anyone supposed to survive this?!

Where on earth is she supposed to look?!

Ethan Yin looked down at Cherry, noticing her frantic, darting gaze—anywhere but at him—and burst out laughing.

"Am I really that scary, that you don’t even dare look at me?" Ethan Yin asked curiously. "Seems like you’ve been avoiding me since we were kids."

"N-no, not at all." Cherry’s voice was a little off.

He was the high and mighty Young Master, and she was just a regular assistant. Keeping her distance from her handsome boss was the real way to survive in the workplace.

Her mother had warned her a thousand times—never cross the line, never let herself have any feelings she shouldn’t.

Both of the Yin family’s young masters were lofty figures—untouchable, not to be defiled.

She’d received the Yin family’s kindness, so she had to behave and do her duty.

So, since childhood, she’d kept her distance whenever she could, quietly completing the tasks assigned by the Yin family.

She worked hard in her studies, kept improving herself, and always did her best—all so she could be Nora’s assistant for life.

That was her entire dream and wish.

As for anything else, she’d never even considered it.

"Really? Then why won’t you look at me?" Ethan Yin grinned mischievously. "Other women would kill to get close to me, but you’ve been avoiding me since we were kids."

"N-no, that’s not it…" Cherry stammered. "I’m Miss Nora’s assistant, so of course she’s my top priority. I’m not your assistant, so I wouldn’t be clinging to you."

"Is that so? That explanation sounds reasonable, but it doesn’t make sense emotionally." Ethan Yin saw Cherry dodging and started teasing her. "Even though you’re Nora’s chief assistant, your status is different from others. The Yin family doesn’t treat you like a servant. Look at Uncle Xiao Heng—he’s Dad’s chief assistant, so Dad gave him a whole branch company. You and my chief assistant will be the same in the future. Since we’re all family, why do you keep avoiding me? Are you hiding something?"

"How could I?" Cherry quickly looked up, instinctively retorting—only to find herself staring into those deep, ocean-like eyes.

Ethan Yin’s looks were sixty percent like Yin Sicheng, twenty percent like Gu Xixi, and the last twenty percent like Jiang Xue.

If Yin Sicheng was a domineering king, then Ethan Yin was a hellish demon—bad to the bone.

"Wow! You finally looked at me. I’m starting to feel a little more confident about my looks." Ethan Yin exaggerated, "You’ve been avoiding me so much, I almost thought I was too ugly for you to even glance at me."

"Young Master Ethan, you really do know how to joke." Cherry let out a sigh.

No wonder Nora always said her brother was bad to the core.

He really was bad to the core.

His looks were absolute top-tier, god-level handsome.

And yet he still said things like that!

Is he trying to make ordinary people feel hopeless?

"I just don’t want to give people a reason to gossip." Cherry replied seriously. "After all, I’m Miss Nora’s personal chief assistant, and I do get to spend a lot of time with Young Master Ethan and Young Master Miles. But if I can’t keep my distance from the two young masters, it could reflect badly on Miss Nora and both of you. I just want to do my job quietly—I’m not trying to get involved in anything else."
