Sylvia Ran Appears

1/4/2026

As the only male head of the household, Charles Yin moved gracefully among a circle of men.

Cecilia Gu, now officially Mrs. Yin, was making her first public appearance alongside Ethan Yin.

Naturally, Cecilia Gu became the center of attention.

Several socialites gathered around Cecilia, hoping to catch her in an embarrassing moment.

But they soon realized that Cecilia handled herself with perfect poise, her face always wearing a gentle, measured smile—never too close, never too distant.

Mrs. Yin finally nodded in satisfaction at Cecilia's performance today.

What she didn’t know was that Cecilia had spent two whole days training for this moment!

And who was her coach for this special training?

Of course, it was the Yun Family!

As soon as the Yin Family’s invitation arrived at the Yun Family, Mr. and Mrs. Yun flew over immediately and moved into Cecilia’s villa.

Mrs. Yun was known throughout the country for her elegance and grace. With her careful guidance, Cecilia could hardly go wrong.

Mrs. Yun taught Cecilia through example, showing her how to interact with others and how to smile with dignity and warmth.

To prepare for this birthday banquet, Cecilia had worked hard to master these etiquette skills.

Plus, Grandma Evelyn Yin had already trained Cecilia for a while before, so Mrs. Yun found it much easier to guide her now.

Mrs. Yun told Cecilia that if she didn’t want to answer a question, she should simply smile.

No matter the situation, just smile!

Cecilia kept this lesson close to heart, so from the start of the banquet until now, she maintained a perfect, graceful smile.

Watching Cecilia from afar, Mrs. Yun finally felt at ease.

But for some reason, Mrs. Yun kept feeling that Cecilia looked just like her own daughter...

Maybe it was just the pull of blood ties.

Even though Mr. and Mrs. Yun hadn’t been told that Cecilia was their biological daughter, their instincts already drew them closer to her.

Cecilia, knowing now that Mr. and Mrs. Yun were her real parents—but still keeping it secret with her grandmother—found her feelings toward them changing.

Mrs. Yun took a moment to come over to Cecilia, her eyes full of worry. "Cici, are you still holding up? Do you need to take a break?"

Cecilia gently shook her head. "Mom, I’m fine! Today is important for the Yin Family, and for me too. It’s my official debut, and everyone’s watching! I can’t mess this up."

"Cici, if you don’t want all this pressure, Mom can help you..." Mrs. Yun’s heart ached for Cecilia.

Cecilia’s heart suddenly felt warm.

Most people only care how high you fly; only those who truly love you care if you’re tired from flying.

Even though Mrs. Yun didn’t know Cecilia was her daughter yet, she already loved her like one.

"Mom..." Cecilia’s voice was full of real, heartfelt emotion.

At that moment, Charles Yin walked over, gently wrapped his arm around Cecilia’s waist, and said, "Mom’s right. If you’re tired, take a break. Grandma and my mom are here, so as the granddaughter-in-law, you don’t have to push yourself so hard."

Cecilia smiled, about to speak, when she suddenly met Helen Jiang’s gaze.

Why did her eyes look so full of resentment?

What was going on?

But Cecilia’s confusion was quickly resolved.

The next moment, Ethan Yin, now in a new outfit, returned to the hall just as the music began.

As today’s main character, Ethan Yin was supposed to open the dance.

It wasn’t surprising that Ethan Yin would dance.

But what shocked everyone was the person standing next to him—Sylvia Ran!

Not only was Cecilia stunned, but Charles Yin was also taken aback.

Even the other guests at the banquet were left speechless.

Rona Muir had come with Sean Kerr and hadn’t had a chance to greet anyone yet; now she was frozen in place, stunned for a long, long time.

Sean Kerr’s gaze toward Sylvia Ran was especially complicated.

Sophie Mo was there to represent the Mo Family—Max Mo couldn’t make it, so she came in his place.

Even Sophie Mo, usually so composed, was stunned by the scene before her.

No one expected that Ethan Yin, who’d just returned to the Yin Family, would get to know Sylvia Ran so quickly—close enough for her to be his partner at such an important event.

Charles Yin was only slightly surprised, then gave Sean Kerr a knowing smile.

Sean Kerr’s face instantly darkened.

Cecilia also nodded in the direction of Sean Kerr and Rona Muir.

Rona Muir winked at Cecilia, her expression saying, ‘Let’s just watch the drama unfold.’

Sylvia Ran acted as if nothing had happened, shyly linking arms with Ethan Yin and stepping into the hall. As the music started, they began to dance together in the center of the floor.

Cecilia turned to look at her mother-in-law.

Sure enough, Mrs. Yin’s face had darkened too.

Oh ho, things are definitely about to get interesting.

After the opening dance, Charles Yin and Cecilia, as hosts, were supposed to dance the second number.

Charles Yin led Cecilia down to the dance floor and chose a gentle tune, moving slowly with her.

Cecilia glanced mischievously at Charles and said, "So, how does it feel seeing your first love suddenly standing next to your little brother?"

"Is my little mole jealous?" Charles replied lazily.

"I am not," Cecilia pouted, her gaze landing on Sylvia Ran.

Sylvia Ran was clearly dressed up for the occasion today.

Her face looked truly delicate and charming!

Ethan Yin was clearly very pleased with Sylvia Ran, circling around her the whole time.

Cecilia wasn’t sure what to make of it.

Had Sylvia Ran really given up on Charles Yin and turned to Ethan Yin instead?

No matter how she thought about it, it all felt so surreal!

After the opening dance, the rest of the guests slipped onto the dance floor.

Cecilia noticed Sylvia Ran and Mrs. Yin leaving the crowd together. After thinking it over, she asked Xiao Wang to follow them.

Xiao Wang kept the video call running. Cecilia adjusted her earpiece and immediately heard the sound of an argument on the other end.

Cecilia raised her wrist, watching the footage Xiao Wang was sending her.

Mrs. Yin suddenly stopped at the end of the corridor, turned, and glared at Sylvia Ran. "What are you doing here?" she demanded.

Seeing Mrs. Yin furious, Sylvia Ran immediately switched to her best act—she crouched down and started to cry. "Auntie, what can I do? I don’t understand why you’ve suddenly stopped caring about me. Didn’t you say you’d help me get rid of Cecilia? But just now you saw it yourself—Cecilia now..." She sobbed.

Mrs. Yin’s expression softened a little. "That’s because Cecilia can’t divorce Charles right now! Unless we get the shares she’s holding, she absolutely cannot leave the Yin Family! Sylvia, haven’t I told you before? You need to be patient! Once I take Cecilia’s shares, then you can..."

"Auntie, you can fool others with that story." Sylvia Ran suddenly wiped away her tears, stood up, and looked at Mrs. Yin with a completely unfamiliar expression. "I used to trust you. But what happened? Didn’t Cecilia end up with all the benefits? How did she suddenly get so many shares? Was Auntie really unaware? Now that Cecilia has the shares, your attitude changed instantly, didn’t it?"

Mrs. Yin’s face grew ugly again.

"In your eyes, is the Yin Family all that matters?" Sylvia Ran’s attitude grew increasingly cold.

"That’s right," Mrs. Yin replied icily. "No one can take away what belongs to my son!"

"Is that so?" Sylvia Ran’s lips curled into a cold smile. "What about Ethan Yin? He’s come back to take Charles’s inheritance too, hasn’t he? Why haven’t you targeted Ethan?"

Mrs. Yin was momentarily speechless.

She couldn’t tell Sylvia Ran that she’d actually started targeting Ethan Yin six years ago...

That was something she would never, ever say out loud.
