Her Mentor Does Not Have a Healer's License
The group kept chatting among themselves.
Her Master’s handsome features, calm and serene demeanor, and profound, unfathomable knowledge made the alliance leaders respect him even more from the heart.
In this life, Master is still so popular...
Grace smiled and took a seat at the table where the former Blue Moon Spirit Alliance members were.
At this table sat four people from the Blue Moon Spirit Alliance and three from the Windspire Spirit Alliance.
As soon as she sat down, she noticed the Windspire Spirit Alliance members sneaking glances at the head seat, whispering among themselves.
"Who is that?" Linda Wei asked, starry-eyed. "He’s so good-looking! Like a celestial being!"
"He’s a big deal!" The guy next to Linda Wei, clearly in the know, replied. "That’s the Imperial Alchemist, personally appointed by the Emperor! His medical skills are legendary. Even our Alliance Leader had to ask him for advice before taking the Stage Nine Alchemist exam!"
"That amazing?" Linda Wei’s eyes were practically heart-shaped.
"I heard when the Emperor was a kid, he got really sick. Not even the Empire’s Spirit Alliance could cure him. But this guy did! Isn’t that wild?"
"Wow... If only I could be apprenticed to someone like that. That would be a blessing earned over eight lifetimes!"
"A Master like that isn’t just going to take on random disciples! Keep dreaming!"
...
Grace was thoroughly enjoying the conversation when a harsh voice sounded from behind her: "Grace!"
Grace turned around. It was Lily Xu.
The mark from yesterday’s slap was still faintly visible on her face, and her eyes looked positively venomous.
"What do you want?" Grace asked.
"Where’s your Master? Didn’t he come?" Lily Xu asked.
"My Master is here," Grace replied.
"Then why don’t we see him?" Lily Xu asked with a mocking smile. "Hurry up and bring him out. Let us all have a look!"
Grace said, "He’s busy right now. Not a good time."
"Not convenient?" Lily Xu sneered. "What’s he busy with?"
"He—"
"Is he busy taking the Healer’s License test?" Lily Xu cut her off, dripping with sarcasm.
"Lily Xu, what does it mean to take the Healer’s License exam?" Linda Wei asked eagerly from across the table.
Lily Xu let out a cold laugh, raising her voice as if afraid others wouldn’t hear. "You guys don’t know, do you? Grace’s Master isn’t like everyone else’s."
"How is he different?" everyone asked, curiosity piqued.
Lily Xu smiled, drawing out every word: "Her Master does not have a Healer’s License!"
"No Healer’s License? How is that possible?" Linda Wei looked genuinely intrigued.
"Because... her Master is just a countryside doctor!" Lily Xu declared. "He probably doesn’t even know what a Healer’s License looks like!"
Lily Xu had heard about this back when she was in the Blue Moon Spirit Alliance, from Sophie Sun.
Grace couldn’t find a Master in Danyang City, so she ended up apprenticing herself to a countryside doctor in the mountains.
And after hearing Duke Winston Wood mention yesterday that her Master didn’t even have a Healer’s License, Lily Xu decided to seize the chance to get revenge.
"But how could a disciple taught by a countryside doctor without a Healer’s License ever get into the Spirit Alliance?" Linda Wei looked at Grace, her eyes glinting with mischief.
Linda Wei was a beauty and a skilled healer, always the darling of the Windspire Spirit Alliance.
But during this assessment, she discovered Grace was even more beautiful, drawing everyone’s attention.
And Grace’s exam results were better, too.
So, Linda Wei was jealous of Grace.
"Exactly! I’m curious too!" Lily Xu chimed in. "Grace, let your Master come out! We’re all dying to know how a countryside doctor without a Healer’s License managed to teach you well enough to get into the Spirit Alliance!"
