Drank Too Much

12/2/2025

In an instant, the atmosphere grew tense again. Weren't these two getting along just fine before? Why did things suddenly change? What exactly is going through the Ghostmaster's mind?

Everyone began speculating, secretly relieved that they hadn't impulsively rushed forward themselves.

After a moment, Damien Gray suddenly raised his wine cup and drained it in one go. He looked at the scar-faced man with a half-smile and said, "Guildmaster Feng, you don't mind if I drink this cup, do you?"

The scar-faced man was Leon Feng, Guildmaster of the Venom Sect, known for his mastery of poisons. Leon had once been a heroic youth, but his ruthless ways made him unacceptable to the righteous, eventually forcing him onto the path of evil.

"N-no, I don't mind..."

Leon Feng was clearly caught off guard. After a moment, he retreated to his seat, secretly relieved that the Ghostmaster hadn't gotten angry. He glanced at the Cloud Guildmaster, realizing that although the Ghostmaster had undermined her, she showed no sign of anger at all. Her temperament was almost too good to be true.

But the Cloud Guildmaster truly didn't seem like someone who would get angry; it was impossible to imagine what she would look like in a fit of rage.

Morgan Shangguan didn't intend to fuss over a cup of wine, but found Damien Gray's string of actions truly odd and utterly inscrutable. She sighed inwardly—indeed, the Ghostmaster's thoughts were impossible to fathom!

"Ghostmaster, Violet Snow offers you a toast!" Violet Snow's face was pale, clearly still suffering from internal injuries. Yet with the Ghostmaster present, she refused to rest in bed. Now she was even drinking, which made Jade Greenfield frown—had she forgotten her own status because of the Ghostmaster?

Damien Gray glanced at Morgan Shangguan, his eyes flashing with a sharp light that vanished almost instantly. He reached for his wine cup, and Violet Snow's eyes lit up with joy, her gaze soft as water, filled with unwavering devotion.

Damien Gray tilted his head back and finished his wine, then stood up and headed upstairs. Before leaving, he shot Violet Snow a look, signaling her to follow.

Maxwell Jing and Ethan Gu exchanged glances and hurried after him, both utterly perplexed. What was their master up to? Why did he keep doing things no one could understand?

Violet Snow was stunned for a moment, then her heart soared with joy. Had the Ghostmaster accepted her? Even if he hadn't, at least he was drawing closer—there was hope for her yet.

She didn't know why, but although everyone feared him, she had been captivated from the very first moment she saw him—even now, she still didn't know what he truly looked like.

Watching Violet Snow follow upstairs so happily, Morgan Shangguan raised an eyebrow. Could Damien Gray be planning to use his looks as a weapon?

Suddenly, a startled cry rang out from the spacious room upstairs. "What?"

Maxwell Jing pointed incredulously at his own nose. "Me? Why me? I'll lose my chastity!"

Ethan Gu shot him a glance and retorted, "Do you even have any chastity left to lose?"

"Hey, Ethan Gu, what do you mean by that? I'll have you know, I've always been pure as jade!"

"You? Pure as jade?" Ethan Gu's skeptical gaze swept him up and down, then back again. No matter how you looked at it, he didn't seem like the pure type.

Maxwell Jing noticed even Damien Gray's gaze had a hint of strangeness. He couldn't help but twitch his lips and mutter under his breath, "Why? Who says I can't be pure as jade? I have principles too, you know!"

Damien Gray couldn't be bothered to argue, tossing him a small porcelain bottle. "Just use this," he said.

It was a drug that could induce hallucinations. He wouldn't actually force his men to sell themselves; as for why he didn't go himself, it was because he wanted to observe someone's reaction.

Creak...

The door opened. Violet Snow looked up, only to find it wasn't the person she longed for. She felt a pang of disappointment, but knowing this was someone from the Ghostmaster's circle, she wouldn't dare offend them. She politely asked, "Is the Ghostmaster...?"

Morgan Shangguan sat for a while, feeling a bit bored and just about to head upstairs when she saw Ethan Gu walking straight toward her. Ethan Gu and Maxwell Jing—one in black, one in red—were easy to recognize.

"Cloud Guildmaster, the master requests your presence upstairs. There is an important matter to discuss." Ethan Gu said this, though he was deeply puzzled. The master had Maxwell Jing investigate the cause of the Rakshasa Palace master's poisoning from the violet envoy, so why did he also want the Cloud Guildmaster brought to the door?

Morgan Shangguan raised her brows lightly, then nodded and followed him upstairs.

As they reached the doorway, the ambiguous moaning sounds from inside drifted out. Ethan Gu stopped, seeming a bit stunned by the suggestive noises, and awkwardly said, "Cloud Guildmaster, um..."

Morgan Shangguan waved her hand indifferently. "Tell your master to find me after he's done!" She turned and headed to her own room—she needed some peace and quiet to think things over.

Ethan Gu watched her leave and sighed. He really wasn't suited for acting—next time, this sort of thing should be left to Maxwell Jing. Just as he was thinking this, he turned and saw Damien Gray standing right beside him, which startled him. The master truly was ghostlike in his comings and goings!

Damien Gray stood silently, his aura radiating displeasure. His eyes were deep and thoughtful, as if pondering something. Ethan Gu didn't disturb him.

The reason for Damien Gray's unhappiness was entirely due to Morgan Shangguan's overly calm demeanor. She was so indifferent that he felt she didn't care about him at all. This made things difficult—he couldn't force her, or it would only backfire. He understood this very well.

Suddenly, the door opened and Maxwell Jing stepped out, looking resigned. "I couldn't find out anything. That woman doesn't know a thing."

Inside, the ambiguous sounds continued—the source was Violet Snow, now lying on the bed, her clothes shed, lips parted as she uttered enticing moans.

Damien Gray's plan to kill two birds with one stone hadn't caught a single one. Frustrated, his eyes darkened as he strode toward Morgan Shangguan's room.
