The burly man finally let her go, spat on the ground, and cursed, "Filthy woman!"
While everyone worried that the Ghostmaster might be angered, the burly man pointed at Morgan Shangguan and shouted, "What did you just say, kid?"
This man had just arrived, so he didn't know Morgan Shangguan's identity. Normally, he wouldn't dare act so brazenly in front of the Ghostmaster, but he reasoned that the Ghostmaster was also a man—didn't Morgan's words implicate him too? That gave him some confidence.
Damien Gray had no intention of meddling in this trivial matter, but he disliked the man's behavior. Pausing with his wine cup, he cast a cold, chilling glance at Jade Greenfield and said lightly, "Since when has Rakshasa Palace become so incompetent?"
Jade Greenfield was startled and quickly signaled with his eyes. Immediately, someone stepped forward to drag all three out together, not giving them the slightest chance to resist.
They weren't taken far, just outside the hall. To avoid disturbing the Ghostmaster, all three were silenced and their limbs disabled, then thrown straight into the lake to feed the fish.
Susie Yun witnessed the scene and couldn't help but glance at Damien Gray. As expected, the Ghostmaster was just as terrifying as the rumors claimed—one word from him could decide if someone lived, died, or suffered a fate worse than death.
Morgan Shangguan felt no sympathy for the three. She simply glanced at Damien Gray, wondering why he had suddenly become angry.
Liam Duanmu couldn't help but speak up as he watched the scene unfold. "Ghostmaster, must you drag innocent people into this as well?"
Damien Gray already disliked him. Hearing his words, he sneered, "Martial Alliance Chief, why don't you tell me—which of them is innocent?" The title 'Martial Alliance Chief' sounded unmistakably sarcastic.
Liam Duanmu could naturally hear the sarcasm in Damien Gray's tone. He frowned, his gaze toward Damien growing sharper.
Morgan Shangguan glanced at Liam Duanmu, a faint smile playing at her lips. It was indeed awkward for the Martial Alliance Chief to attend a gathering of the Evil Path.
Damien Gray caught sight of her slight smile out of the corner of his eye. His eyes narrowed, anger surging again. With a slap, he shattered the wooden table and instantly appeared before Liam Duanmu.
As the two began to fight, Jade Greenfield's brows furrowed tightly. He had originally hoped to use the Martial Alliance Chief against the Cloud Guild, but forgot that good and evil could never coexist—two tigers cannot share one mountain.
Rakshasa Palace's situation was far from optimistic. The Palace Master had died from poisoning, and no suitable successor had been found. The Cloud Guild posed a significant threat. As for the Ghost Guild, there was no worry—they had always had the strength to take Rakshasa Palace if they wanted, and didn’t need to wait until now.
Morgan Shangguan had only been watching the fight with indifference, but gradually began to frown. Others found it unbelievable too. In their eyes, the Ghostmaster's martial arts were as unfathomable as his personality. Yet now, he seemed powerless to fight back, dodging in a rather pathetic manner. Was the Martial Alliance Chief truly that skilled?
They would rather believe that the Ghostmaster was drunk!
Morgan Shangguan frowned as she watched their fight. She had sparred with Damien Gray before; though she didn’t know all his skills, she knew enough to be sure he wouldn’t lose to Liam Duanmu, let alone so miserably. What on earth was he up to?
Liam Duanmu also frowned. Though he’d never fought the Ghostmaster before, he’d heard many rumors. For the Ghost Guild to hold such a position, its leader couldn’t possibly be ordinary. Yet now, fighting him, Damien Gray’s skills seemed so lacking—why?
As Liam pondered, he didn’t strike too hard. Suddenly, a hidden force attacked, startling him and forcing him to respond with full strength. As he sent a palm strike toward the Ghostmaster, he noticed a strange look in Damien Gray’s eyes. Liam was momentarily stunned, unable to withdraw his force, while Damien seemed too weak to dodge.
Just as Liam Duanmu's palm was about to strike the Ghostmaster's chest, a length of white silk lashed out, forcefully knocking his hand aside. The blow was so powerful, it nearly landed on the Ghostmaster anyway.
Liam stepped back two paces to steady himself, his right hand now completely numb. Looking up, he saw the Cloud Guildmaster calmly retracting the white silk, her demeanor so indifferent it was as if nothing had happened.
Damien Gray’s lips curled, looking every bit the cunning fox. His eyes sparkled with amusement as he gazed at Liam Duanmu, his look layered with meaning and a hint of provocation.
Liam Duanmu frowned deeply, completely unable to understand the strange look in Damien’s eyes.
It took Maxwell Jing a long moment to close his gaping mouth in shock. He twitched his lips and muttered, "How embarrassing!" How could the Master lose to a kid like that? He’d never seen anything like it.
Ethan Gu finally snapped out of his surprise, frowning again. Why did the Master seem more and more unfathomable? No one could make sense of his intentions anymore.
Damien Gray was in great spirits now, completely unconcerned about whether he looked ridiculous. He nonchalantly returned to his seat, where a new table had already replaced the one he’d destroyed, and the floor was spotless.
Earlier, the Ghostmaster had shown unusual closeness to the Cloud Guildmaster. Now that she had intervened to save him, Jade Greenfield hesitated, no longer daring to act rashly against the Cloud Guild. It seemed this matter would require careful consideration.
Morgan Shangguan glanced at Damien Gray, frowning as she asked, "What are you playing at?" If she hadn’t intervened, was he really planning to take that hit? That strike was no joke!
Damien Gray smiled, utterly calm as he replied, "Maybe I drank too much."
Morgan Shangguan, of course, didn’t believe him. But since he refused to explain, she couldn’t exactly pry his mouth open.
Previously, because the Ghostmaster seemed unfriendly to the Cloud Guildmaster, no one dared get too close to Morgan Shangguan. But now, everyone sensed her relationship with the Ghostmaster was anything but ordinary.
A man with a scar across his face suddenly approached to offer Morgan Shangguan a toast. She smiled faintly and reached for her wine cup.
Damien Gray remembered the last drunken incident. Suddenly, he reached out and covered her wine cup. Morgan frowned at him, and he stared back, saying nothing—clearly intent on not letting her drink.
