So Many Coincidences

1/4/2026

As soon as that question was asked, the faces of everyone present changed slightly!

The hostess shot a fierce glare at the woman who had spoken too much.

Right now, everyone in K City wants to cozy up to Charles Yin.

But who is Charles Yin, really?

Is he someone you can just meet so easily?

The local big shots have scratched their heads, trying every possible way, but still can't get a direct conversation with Charles Yin.

In the end, with no other options, they thought of the 'wives' diplomacy'.

Since they can't meet Charles Yin himself, meeting his wife is the next best thing!

Then, through their wives, they could pass on their goodwill!

So, today these ladies were determined to flatter and please Cecilia Gu!

Best case scenario, they could become close friends after just one meeting, and that way, their husbands could get a word in with Charles Yin.

But before anyone could warm up to each other, that tactless woman went straight for the forbidden topic!

What relationship Cecilia Gu has with the Yun Family—is that something people can just talk about so casually?

Even if Cecilia Gu does have a connection to the Yun Family, she's kept it secret for a reason!

If she's so nosy and ends up annoying Cecilia Gu, then what?

Cecilia Gu simply smiled, picked up her teacup, took a gentle sip, and lowered her gaze, not letting anyone read her thoughts.

She'd learned all this from Charles Yin.

To be honest, after spending so many days with Charles Yin, she'd really picked up a lot about how to handle people.

Sure enough, all those ladies were getting restless.

After keeping them in suspense long enough, Cecilia Gu finally looked up at the woman who'd asked the question, smiled, and countered, "Madam, why do you ask? It seems you know something, don't you?"

The lady who caused the trouble finally stammered, "I was just asking casually..."

"Really? What a shame, I thought you might know something secret. Looks like I'm disappointed again!" Cecilia smiled meaningfully and then fell silent.

The lady took the bait, thinking Cecilia truly felt regret, and immediately started gushing, "Ah, actually, I do know a little. A few years ago, I had a chance to meet the eldest Miss Yun. My sister-in-law was her college classmate. My sister-in-law once brought back a photo, so I really think Miss Yun and Mrs. Yin look so much alike!"

Cecilia replied indifferently, "There are always coincidences in this world. It's just a resemblance, that's all."

The lady shook her head, "If it were just a resemblance, I wouldn't say it like this."

Before she could finish, the host coughed forcefully, cutting her off.

This woman really doesn't know how to read the room. Who invited her here?

Cecilia felt a sudden stir in her heart, though she wasn't sure why.

She couldn't shake the feeling that this lady knew something important.

"May I ask how I should address you?" Cecilia took the initiative to show goodwill.

The flustered lady finally realized her mistake and answered in a panic, "My husband’s surname is Zhao."

"So you’re Mrs. Zhao." Cecilia looked at her seriously. "I’m quite interested in this matter. Why don’t you tell me more?"

Mrs. Zhao saw that Cecilia wasn’t angry, and secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

The other ladies exchanged glances.

They really couldn’t figure out Cecilia’s temperament anymore.

"There are people who look alike in this world, but Mrs. Yin and Miss Yun look too much alike. No, it’s almost as if they’re the same person!" Mrs. Zhao, reassured by Cecilia’s seriousness, continued, "My sister-in-law was fairly close to Miss Yun in college. She once told me something that I’ve always found strange! Miss Yun once told my sister-in-law that she was living in this world by stealing her sister’s happiness. Oh, listen to me rambling—I’m not good at this! If Mrs. Yin doesn’t mind, I’ll call my sister-in-law over to explain it herself?"

Cecilia nodded enthusiastically. "Sure."

She had always heard about Nora Yun from others.

Admittedly, Cecilia was now genuinely interested in Nora Yun.

Especially after visiting the Yun family and experiencing Mrs. Yun’s careful attention, Cecilia found herself even more curious about Nora Yun.

Xiao Wang was right—today, she really could do as she pleased.

No matter what she wanted to do, no one would stop her.

No wonder Charles Yin felt comfortable letting her attend this kind of banquet.

It was obvious she was here to show everyone up!

And yet, no one could say a word against her!

After a short while, Mrs. Zhao’s sister-in-law hurried over.

Mr. Zhao, hearing that Cecilia wanted to meet his younger sister, nearly dropped everything he was doing and wished he could send his sister over immediately!

Miss Zhao was considered a second-generation rich kid in this city. She could handle almost anything with composure.

But when she stood in front of Cecilia, she was so scared she nearly wet herself.

Nora Yun! She... she’s alive?

Cecilia smiled, "Miss Zhao, please don’t misunderstand. I just want to hear what you have to say about Nora Yun."

It took Nora Yun a moment to recover herself.

Huh? What did she say? She’s not Nora Yun?

Oh my god! The resemblance is uncanny!

At this point, Mrs. Zhao began to introduce Cecilia to Miss Zhao, explaining what Cecilia wanted to know.

Miss Zhao snapped out of it, repeatedly telling herself that the person in front of her wasn’t Nora Yun, then slowly began, "Yes, I was indeed Nora Yun’s college classmate, but we weren’t in the same department. We got to know each other during a club activity. Nora Yun did say things like that before. At first, I thought she was just... daydreaming..."

"Tell me in detail." Cecilia asked, full of interest.

Whether it was the Yun family or Mo Zixin, from their perspective, it seemed none of them wanted to say too much.

But Miss Zhao was different. She was truly an outsider, so she could be more objective.

"Nora Yun always had this worried look, gazing at the sky. She said she stole her sister’s happiness, and even her sister’s lover. Everything should have belonged to her sister, but Nora enjoyed it for so many years instead. She said people who steal others’ happiness will be punished by fate. So, she feared she wouldn’t live long." Miss Zhao faithfully repeated Nora Yun’s words.

Cecilia was stunned.

Nora Yun, what did she mean by that?

"Why would she say something like that?" Cecilia couldn’t help but ask.

Miss Zhao shook her head, "I don’t know either. More than once, Nora Yun would suddenly burst into tears, crying heartbreakingly. She said her sister was suffering somewhere poor, working herself to the bone, while she enjoyed all the privileges of wealth. She thought it was unfair to her sister."

For some reason, a strange feeling flickered through Cecilia’s heart.

"I remember it clearly. On the Mid-Autumn Festival of our sophomore year, Nora Yun suddenly broke down in tears. I was curious and asked her why she was so sad. She answered, 'My sister is alone, cold and hungry, abandoned in the mountains. What if something happens to her?'" Miss Zhao looked incredulous.

Cecilia’s teacup slipped from her hand and crashed to the floor. She shot up from her seat. "Which year was your sophomore year?"

Miss Zhao was startled, but quickly replied, "Six years ago."

Cecilia staggered, nearly collapsing to the ground!

The ladies around her immediately straightened up, reaching out to steady Cecilia.

Cecilia took a deep breath, closed her eyes, and tried to speak as calmly as possible, "Go on."

Miss Zhao hadn’t expected Cecilia’s reaction to be so intense, especially seeing Cecilia’s pale face—it was exactly like Nora Yun’s...

"That’s all. I wasn’t that close to her. Nora Yun was a goddess at M University, but she had poor health and often took leave, so I didn’t know much. I only saw her break down in tears a few times. I thought it was odd, but didn’t think too much of it."

Cecilia waved her hand, signaling the others that she was fine.

Assistant Xiao Wang was almost scared out of her wits.

If anything happened to Cecilia, she’d be done for!

After sitting down again, Cecilia began to sort through her thoughts.

Six years ago, on Mid-Autumn Festival, was the last day she reported to college with her acceptance letter.

That day, she begged her grandmother for tuition, but her grandmother incited her uncle to throw her into the deep mountains.

Alone in the mountains, hungry, cold, and terrified, she crawled and stumbled her way out.

Her grandmother said, unless she could walk out of those mountains by herself, she shouldn’t expect to go to college!

That day, even if she died, she’d never forget it!

Why?

Why such a coincidence?

Why did Nora Yun break down in tears the very day Cecilia suffered?

Was there some hidden connection she didn’t know about?

At that moment, Cecilia began to doubt herself.

If it was just a coincidence that she and Nora Yun looked alike, it wouldn’t matter.

But why did Nora Yun always have an emotional breakdown whenever Cecilia suffered?

"Oh, right. Nora Yun used to love reading the Book of Changes, but every time she finished, she’d be in a terrible mood," Miss Zhao added. "Though I never understood why."

Yeah... nobody knew why.

Maybe even the Yun family didn’t know why.

Cecilia nodded silently.

Coming here today was definitely worthwhile.

Did the Yun family know about these things?

Did Mo Zixin know?

Even if they did, they probably wouldn’t tell her.

Mo Zixin—she still couldn’t figure him out.

And the Yun family... it seemed unlikely they’d ever tell her these things outright.

After regaining her composure, Cecilia said seriously, "I’m so sorry, I think I made everyone nervous along with me!"

The others finally snapped out of it, waving their hands, "No, no, we were just caught up in the story!"

The host spoke up, "We have an orchard, and this is the perfect season for picking fruit. Would everyone like to go and have some fun?"

Everyone, including Cecilia, agreed wholeheartedly with the suggestion.
