Did Nothing

"Don't bother trying to figure out what I like."

Grace: "..."

Once again, Crown Prince Evan Xiao had seen right through her thoughts.

"I don't like Henry Tuoba," Evan Xiao added. "From now on, you're not allowed to be alone with him."

"What if I accidentally end up alone with him?" Grace asked.

She still wanted to treat him to a meal!

"You can try."

He was getting more and more like his old self—before he was bewitched.

Grace looked at him, then suddenly tiptoed and planted a kiss on his face.

Evan Xiao's eyes changed. He turned to glare at her. "What are you doing?"

In front of the child—aren't you embarrassed?

Grace shrank her shoulders and replied timidly, "We weren't doing anything..."

Evan Xiao: "..."

...

The fireworks lasted for a while, then finally ended.

Evan Xiao escorted Grace and her son home, then left.

There were still matters to handle back at Drake Abyss.

Grace had kissed him tonight, so she was in a great mood and slept especially sweetly.

She never would have dreamed that Evan Xiao would actually kill Henry Tuoba.

The next day, Felix Zeng told her to meet again at the same old spot. He had something important to finish discussing from yesterday.

Grace didn't suspect anything and went.

As soon as she arrived, she saw Henry Tuoba lying in a pool of blood, his body twisted and deformed beyond recognition.

Evan Xiao stood inside, emanating a murderous aura as he stared at him.

"Henry Tuoba!" Grace felt as if struck by lightning, frozen for a long moment before rushing over to check on him.

She desperately hoped his core and body were still intact.

If that were the case, she could still save Henry Tuoba.

But his core was shattered beyond repair!

His internal organs were completely destroyed.

He was coughing up blood, staining the floor—and Grace's eyes—with red.

She seemed to see, in her past life, Henry Tuoba bringing her tangyuan at midnight on the Lantern Festival.

She seemed to see him striding over to pull her up when she was punished to kneel by Ting Wu.

She saw him under the moonlight, with that gentle yet slightly melancholy gaze.

She seemed to see the day Yan Capital fell, Evan Xiao leading his cavalry in, and Henry Tuoba's frantic retreating figure.

She saw him, before dying, say he didn't blame her...

She knelt before Henry Tuoba's corpse and suddenly coughed up blood.

Evan Xiao felt her intense mix of grief and rage, saw her heartbreak and even her blood-spitting, and his gaze grew darker.

So in her heart, Henry Tuoba was this important?

But in the end, he couldn't bear to see her like this, so he tried to explain: "He—"

"Shut up!" Grace cut him off sharply, rising to her feet before he could finish.

Her eyes burned with anger and resolve: "Evan Xiao, just tell me—was it you who killed him? Was it?"

Evan Xiao answered, "Yes."

"Yes! It was! He died by my hands again..." Grace muttered, then suddenly struck her own core.

She didn't know how to make it up to Henry Tuoba, so all she could do was give him her life in return...

But Evan Xiao stopped her.

He suppressed her energy and asked in a chilling tone, "Is he really that important to you? If he dies, you won't go on living?"

"Evan Xiao! Go back to Drake Abyss right now! I never want to see you again!" Grace struggled fiercely, shouting with all her might.

"Are you serious?" Evan Xiao asked, each word heavy.

"Go! Now! Leave! Disappear from my sight!"

Evan Xiao slowly released her, his eyes icy, his whole demeanor cold, and turned to leave.
