Mutant Animals

Early the next morning, Ian Song woke up slowly, only to find the body in his arms unusually soft and tender.

Because last night was Coco Guan’s first time, she couldn’t handle much, so Ian only sampled the experience before ending things quickly.

As a result, Ian felt a particularly strong fire burning inside him early in the morning.

Coco Guan’s sleeping face suddenly flushed, especially her ears, which turned crystal red.

Obviously, the girl was already awake—she was just pretending to be asleep.

Ian’s lips curled into a mischievous smile. Let’s see how long you can keep pretending.

Unable to keep up the act, she slowly opened her autumn-water eyes and gazed at Ian with affection. “Brother Ian, you’re so naughty, messing with me so early in the morning!”

“Don’t call me Brother Ian—just call me ‘Gege’!”

“Mm! Gege!” Coco Guan nodded shyly. That single word sent a shiver down Ian’s spine, and he kissed her soft, moist cherry lips fiercely.

Emotions fermented, and the atmosphere heated up.

Gradually, another round of battle broke out—it must have been intense, judging by their heavy breathing.

……

After breakfast, Ian led two hundred armed police and two hundred Combat Corps members to the mold factory.

The mold factory was about five kilometers from South China University.

Whether they were armed police or Combat Corps fighters, after consuming Evolution Crystals, not only did their strength increase, but their stamina improved greatly as well.

In less than half an hour, they reached the factory, slaying nearly a hundred tier-two zombies along the way.

"This mold factory had about 500 workers," Kevin Zhou glanced at the three hundred people behind him. "I don’t think the threat is very big!"

The iron gate of the mold factory was locked, but that wasn’t a problem for the group.

With a flash of sword-light, Helen Guo sliced through the heavy lock on the gate with a single strike.

“Wait, don’t go in yet!”

Suddenly, Ian raised his hand. He’d just used his Clairvoyant Vision to scan the inside of the mold factory and discovered something that delighted him.

There was actually a J-Type Zombie inside this little mold factory.

It took nearly twenty thousand zombies at South China University to produce a single J-Type, but this factory with only five hundred people had one. That was definitely good news.

With a flicker, Ian entered the factory and raced toward the J-Type Zombie’s location at incredible speed.

With a J-Type Zombie present, there were no survivors left in the mold factory.

A minute later, Ian landed in a dimly lit workshop.

The workshop was packed with hundreds of zombies.

Whoosh!

Dodging through the horde, he darted straight for the J-Type Zombie at the back of the workshop.

Yow!

Sensing danger, the J-Type Zombie let out a piercing screech, causing a mass of zombies to swarm toward it.

Unfortunately, zombies could never be as fast as Ian.

In the next instant, Ian was already five meters in front of the J-Type. Four tier-four zombies stood guard beside it—three L-Types and one S-Type.

Go!

Ian pointed, and a flash of cyan sword-light shot out.

Five heads flew high into the air.

He’d instantly killed all five—including the J-Type Zombie.

Collect!

With a grab, Ian stored all five heads in his Storage Ring, then flashed out of the workshop.

Outside, Ian cracked open each zombie skull and obtained five cyan Evolution Crystals.

The L-Type zombies' crystals were fist-sized, the S-Type ones a bit smaller. The J-Type’s crystal was only the size of a thumb, but it shimmered with color and radiated a strange allure—Ian felt a powerful urge to swallow it right away.

After tossing all five Evolution Crystals into his Storage Ring, Ian sent word to those waiting outside the factory gate to come in.

J-Type Zombies had hypnotic powers—if it had hypnotized hundreds of people, even Ian couldn’t have protected them all.

These people were his capital for conquering the world; losing even one would hurt.

Soon, three hundred armed police and Combat Corps members arrived.

Ian didn’t intervene in the next battle.

After many battles, the Combat Corps fighters had grown; there were over three hundred zombies in the workshop. All tier-four zombies had been slain by Ian, but there were still plenty of tier-three zombies. If they rushed in for a chaotic melee, casualties would be heavy.

So, their strategy was to have Helen Guo and Jason Long dash in, lure out some zombies, then let the armed police and Combat Corps ambush them at the workshop doors.

After two hours, the battle was nearly over.

More than 270 zombies had been lured out and destroyed; only a few dozen remained, hardly a threat. So, all three hundred fighters charged in and wiped them out in under fifteen minutes.

After searching, Ian was delighted to find backup power systems and more than ten high-output generators in the factory workshop.

That afternoon, Kevin Zhou brought over ten mechanical engineering students from the survivor base to the factory workshop. With their tinkering, the machines started up.

Two days later—

Five hundred heavy mountain-cleaver machetes had been produced.

There were some alloy materials stored in the factory. With the alloys added, these five hundred machetes were extremely sharp—almost as good as spiritual weapons.

After three more days of blade training—

Ian split the forces into two groups of two hundred each, combining armed police and Combat Corps.

One group was sent to attack the village, led by Leo Liao with Jason Long as his partner.

The other group went to the vocational school, led by Kevin Zhou with Helen Guo supporting.

Ian had already scouted the vocational school—there were no J-Type Zombies, but there were over 3,000 ordinary zombies.

Without a J-Type Zombie to command them, the zombies were just a scattered mob. Otherwise, Ian wouldn’t have dared send only two hundred people.

Near noon, Leo Liao returned with his team, looking battered and dejected.

They set out with two hundred, but only 186 came back—fourteen were lost.

"What exactly happened?" Ian asked Leo Liao. This guy’s strength had risen fast, and his attitude had gotten arrogant, but now he stood before Ian looking utterly dejected, all swagger gone.
