"Three against one? If Sovereign Frost hadn't been defeated by you, I might have sparred with you myself. But since you even took down Sovereign Frost, that proves you're no weakling. I never gamble with my life. No matter what, today the three of us will attack together. With Sovereign Frost wounded, I want to see if you're actually stronger than him—can you withstand the combined assault of three Immortal Sovereigns?" Lucia Heartless sneered.
"You're certainly cautious, but even so, that doesn't mean the three of you will succeed," Evan Yang replied with a smile.
"Kid, those who brag die quickly. You can't get away with that attitude. Looks like it's time we taught you a lesson," Lucia Heartless said with a cold laugh.
With that, Lucia Heartless and the other two Immortal Sovereigns unleashed their attacks at once. Evan Yang knew he couldn't withstand all three at once, so he immediately moved Sovereign Frost out of their attack range.
The three Immortal Sovereigns were surprised by Evan Yang's speed, while Evan turned to his four妖尊 and said, "He's yours now."
"Do you need help?" Sovereign Eagle asked.
"Not for now. If I need you, I'll let you know," Evan Yang said.
The four妖尊 admired Evan Yang for his confidence, but the three Immortal Sovereigns were puzzled—why wasn't Evan asking the Alliance Leader to guard Sovereign Frost? The Alliance Leader had sworn not to attack them, but hadn't sworn not to protect Sovereign Frost.
Though confused, as soon as Evan Yang reappeared, the three Immortal Sovereigns attacked without hesitation. Their combined assault was far stronger than any single attack. Although their attributes differed, their attacks interwove seamlessly, forcing Evan to dodge constantly—he couldn't even move halfway across the field, since their teamwork was so tight, as if they'd trained together for years.
"Their teamwork makes them much stronger," Evan Yang muttered to himself. At this point, his usual tactics were nearly exhausted.
But Evan Yang remembered he could use light, and while they weren't prepared, he targeted their eyes with a sudden attack.
This was Evan's greatest surprise tactic. Lucia Heartless and the other two had no idea Evan possessed the Light Attribute—in fact, nobody on the field knew he had light powers at all.
That gave Evan the perfect opportunity. While the three Immortal Sovereigns were completely unaware and not observing closely, Evan blinked at each of them, one blink per opponent. He moved so fast that none of them saw the light appear—everything before their eyes blurred in an instant.
Ah! The two Immortal Sovereigns closest to Evan were blinded on the spot. Their eyes not only lost sight but began to bleed—Evan's light energy was so intense it burned them. Lucia Heartless, being farther away and with half a breath to react, dodged in time and avoided the attack. With their triple assault broken, Evan stepped forward and landed heavy punches on the two blinded Sovereigns.
Though his punches didn't destroy their bodies, they left the two severely wounded, sending them flying. The two quickly stabilized themselves, panting and glaring at Evan Yang with their divine sense. Since their eyes couldn't open, their faces were twisted in pain, and both cursed Evan furiously.
So much happened in that brief moment that everyone present was stunned, unable to believe what Evan Yang had just done.
"What technique did you just use?" Lucia Heartless asked Evan Yang in disbelief.
"That's a secret. I'm not telling you—for now. So, with your two allies injured, it's unlikely you'll be able to unleash your full power. Lucia, do you dare to fight me one-on-one?" Evan Yang asked with a grin.
"Not telling? That's fine. Once I subdue you, I'll make you talk!" Lucia Heartless snorted coldly. Today's events had already exceeded her expectations, but no matter what, she was determined to capture Evan Yang—otherwise she'd never get another chance.
After speaking, she sent a sound transmission to the other two Immortal Sovereigns, telling them to stand aside and assist from a distance, not to approach Evan Yang. She herself moved in for close combat.
So the two wounded Immortal Sovereigns stood off to the side, while Lucia Heartless closed her eyes—after her lesson just now, she no longer opened them, relying on her divine sense to track and attack Evan Yang.
Evan Yang looked at their new formation and laughed, "What, scared?"
"It's not me who's scared—it's you." Lucia Heartless sneered. Then, with a sudden burst of speed, she appeared right in front of Evan Yang. Evan was shocked; he hadn't expected Lucia to have such a hidden ace, her speed was astonishing. Unable to dodge, Evan had no choice but to clash head-on.
Evan Yang channeled all his strength into his Powerburst Gauntlets and unleashed his strongest punch. The two collided, and the resulting shockwave was so intense it made everyone around feel the terrifying power.
At their point of impact, a spatial crack appeared, showing just how overwhelming their strength was.
The two then separated. Evan Yang noticed a hairline fracture on his Powerburst Gauntlets—the first time they'd ever been damaged. "The gauntlets are done for," he muttered to himself, then took them off, exposing his reddened hands. Lucia Heartless's delicate hands were also flushed red.
Lucia Heartless glanced at her hand, then at Evan's gauntlets, and sneered, "So you were wearing a treasure. But now it looks broken. Let's see if you can withstand my next punch." With that, she flashed behind Evan again at incredible speed.
Evan Yang spun around and met her attack with another punch. Without the gauntlets, his strength was slightly inferior, forcing him to retreat a good distance before stabilizing himself. He wasn't seriously hurt, but his hands were even redder.
"Your speed really is impressive. I didn't expect that," Evan Yang said with a smile.
"Of course! Didn't you know I have a nickname?" Lucia Heartless sneered.
"Nickname? What nickname?" Evan Yang asked suspiciously.
"Fastest among my peers. You should understand now," Lucia Heartless replied with a smile.
Evan Yang laughed, "So that's it." But inwardly, he was shocked—her speed really did surpass his. If he wanted to defeat her, it would be extremely difficult; in fact, her speed countered him.
"Do you still dare to act so arrogant now?" Lucia Heartless asked with a smile.
"I haven't changed. Just because you're fast doesn't mean you can beat me," Evan Yang replied with a grin.
"Oh really? Then let me see what other tricks you have." Lucia Heartless snorted, then appeared before Evan Yang again. This time, Evan didn't punch back. As her fist approached, Evan summoned the Polar Sacred Flame, which coiled around Lucia like a venomous serpent. Feeling its terrifying aura, Lucia retreated, but some of the flame stuck to her—its alternating heat and cold made her uncomfortable, forcing her to unleash her own ice attribute to extinguish it.
Her face flushed red as she stared at Evan Yang. "What kind of attribute is that? How can it be both hot and cold?"
The spectators were puzzled—what attribute could be both hot and cold? It defied common sense.
"Can't you guess?" Evan Yang said with a smile.
"Cold must be ice, hot must be fire. Are you fire attribute and water attribute? Did you fuse them? Is that it?" Lucia Heartless asked, half in disbelief. It was beyond anything she'd imagined—no one could possibly have both water and fire attributes, let alone fuse them.
