Open Rivalry and Secret Competition Between Two Men

1/4/2026

No matter how bad things are between the two of us in private, we have to put on a good show in front of outsiders!

Charles Yin told her this when they were at the Gu Family home.

Now, she had finally learned.

Charles Yin glanced sideways, his mesmerizing eyes filled with a hint of playful teasing as he looked at Cecilia Gu.

You picked it up fast, Little Mole!

But the most important thing in front of people is to cooperate!

Especially in front of Max Mo!

“Yeah, since Cecilia is pregnant now, she can't keep me company,” Charles Yin said, affectionately tapping Cecilia Gu's nose before leaning closer, his eyes meeting hers with a mischievous smile. “I told you, I can handle this myself, but you just couldn't relax! You stayed up all night preparing the proposal for me—what do I have left to worry about?”

Cecilia Gu's gaze landed on Charles Yin's handsome, devilish face. Meeting his sparkling eyes, she almost lost herself.

Cecilia smiled gently and warmly on the outside, but inside she was cursing Charles Yin to high heaven!

With a face that wicked, what are you smiling for, huh?

Good thing she hadn't fallen for this devil, or she'd definitely lose control and jump him!

Max Mo didn't seem to enjoy watching the two of them show affection either. He quickly said, “Great, I haven't played in ages. Today is the perfect chance to stretch my muscles.”

Cecilia immediately stepped aside, her assistant following closely behind.

Cecilia sighed softly and asked, “Is the proposal ready?”

“Yes, Mrs. Yin,” the assistant replied promptly. “But the CEO said not to discuss the proposal today. He wants to relax with Mr. Mo first.”

Cecilia nodded. The battlefield between men was not hers to join.

Honestly, she couldn't get involved even if she wanted to.

She wasn't Rona Muir—she didn't have that kind of skill or confidence.

While the two men played golf, it was the perfect chance to visit Lydia.

She must be bored out of her mind here alone. Since she's worried Charles Yin might find out, why not take Lydia to another zone for a walk?

Back in the lounge, Cecilia Gu opened the door but didn't see any sign of Lydia Lin.

That's strange. Where did she go?

Cecilia called Lydia's phone, but it was turned off.

Cecilia immediately started to worry about Lydia.

She just finished chemo yesterday, so she should be pretty weak, right?

Was she being selfish? She hadn't considered Lydia's physical limits—one plea and she softened, so she brought her here...

Now Cecilia was completely worried about Lydia, not knowing that at this very moment, Lydia had already found a quiet corner, changed into a jaw-droppingly sexy bikini, and was swimming laps in the indoor pool.

Lydia knew Cecilia, and she knew Charles Yin, too.

She knew that every time Charles finished playing golf, he'd always come to the pool for a few laps.

She didn't need to go anywhere—she just had to wait here for the rabbit to come to her.

Cecilia couldn't find Lydia, so she gave up, hoping she wouldn't wander off. Otherwise, it could be dangerous.

While Cecilia was still worrying about Lydia, her phone rang. She looked at the screen—it was Rona Muir.

"Hello, Rona," Cecilia said softly.

"I heard you guys are at Yin Country Club today," Rona said cheerfully. "I came with my boss too—we're in Zone 2! Want to join us?"

Cecilia was surprised. "You guys are here too?"

"Yep, I'm in Zone 2! My boss is playing golf with the others, and I'm bored out of my mind. Then I remembered you were coming today, and figured Charles wouldn't bring you along, so why not come find me?" Rona said, sounding like a typical airhead.

If anyone actually believed she was just a big-busted airhead, they'd be dead wrong!

Anyone who could become Vice President of Odyssey Corporation couldn't possibly be an airhead.

That was just Rona's disguise.

"No, I'll just stay here," Cecilia decided after thinking it over. If Charles Yin came looking for her and couldn't find her...

"Alright, then I'll come to you! My boss's clients today are all a bunch of old men—so boring!" Rona Muir said listlessly. "I told him I didn't have to come to this kind of event, but he insisted on bringing me!"

Cecilia suddenly found herself curious about the president of Odyssey Corporation.

She couldn't help but feel this guy was a bit eccentric. Any man who could tolerate such a bold vice president couldn't be ordinary!

"Alright, as long as your boss agrees, I have no objections," Cecilia replied with a smile.

Charles Yin didn't seem to mind her getting close to Rona Muir—in fact, he almost seemed to encourage it...

Rona really was quick—within minutes, she arrived in a tour cart from the estate.

From a distance, Cecilia saw Rona striding over in a tight sports outfit.

Ahem, she really was a G-cup!

No matter what she wore, there was always a strong vibe of high-class mistress—her figure was just too hot! Aren't all mistresses supposed to be curvy?

No wonder the wives of those clients all looked at her with such bitter resentment.

If Lydia and Rona stood side by side, Rona would outshine her by a mile!

Models have great figures, sure, but they're all skin and bones, right?

From a visual standpoint, Rona was the clear winner!

"Cecilia..." Rona, even without heels, still swayed gracefully. Her soft, trembling voice made the male staff nearby shiver.

Cecilia sighed to herself: No wonder she gets called a mistress! That sultry voice is every wife's worst nightmare!

"Ahem, want something to drink?" Cecilia changed the subject. "Fresh French wine, flown in at four this morning."

"Charles actually lets you drink?" Rona stood in front of Cecilia, just a bit taller even without heels.

"Of course I'm not allowed, but since you're a business partner, you can have a glass." Cecilia waved her hand, and someone immediately brought over a glass of wine and a glass of milk.

Rona didn't stand on ceremony. She picked up the wine, sniffed it, then held it up to the light, admiring the color. She sighed, "Charles really knows how to live! This is the French nobility's favorite."

"Yeah, I heard each bottle is worth two hundred thousand dollars," Cecilia replied calmly.

After spending some time with Charles Yin, Cecilia had finally learned not to be fazed by luxury.

There was no helping it—Charles was burning through cash every second.

After a while, you just get used to it.

Cecilia picked up her perfectly warm milk and took a couple of sips.

"Is it really okay for you to just run over here?" Cecilia asked, puzzled. "You're the vice president—you just skipped out..."

"It's fine. My boss can handle it! Whether I'm here or not doesn't make much difference," Rona replied carelessly. "But instead of worrying about me, you should worry about yourself."

"What do I have to worry about?" Cecilia asked, confused.

"Cecilia, I don't have many friends, but you're one of them. You saw me get chased and beaten, and you helped me out," Rona said bluntly. "There aren't many people I actually like, but you're one of them. So, I consider you a friend. What about you?"

Cecilia hadn't expected Rona to say that, and was stunned for a moment.

Seeing Cecilia's blank look, Rona put her wine glass back. "If you don't want to, just pretend I never said anything."

When Cecilia saw Rona about to get up and leave, she quickly pressed Rona's hand, blurting, "I never said I didn't want to!"

Rona turned to look at Cecilia, and after a moment, couldn't help but burst out laughing.

"What are you laughing at?" Cecilia asked, confused.

"I finally get why Charles likes you," Rona said with interest. "You're really fun!"

Cecilia couldn't help but smile bitterly.

Charles doesn't like her at all.

What he likes is the Yin Family Heir.

After finishing his golf game with Max Mo, Charles Yin felt completely refreshed.

The two men agreed to head to the pool and swim a few laps to relax.
