Lydia Lin Sneaks In

1/4/2026

The next morning.

Cecilia Gu and Charles Yin ate breakfast together in silence at home.

Neither of them said a word; each focused on their own meal.

Charles Yin hadn’t returned to his room last night, and the two of them had gone back to sleeping in separate rooms as usual.

Cecilia felt a secret sense of relief in her heart.

Sleeping apart was better; otherwise, she really didn’t know how to face him.

"You’re pregnant, so don’t play golf today." Charles suddenly spoke, frowning slightly. "Besides, do you even know how to play golf?"

Cecilia wanted to take Lydia Lin out for some fresh air, so she quickly replied, "I can just watch! I know I shouldn’t do anything too strenuous, but moving around a bit is good for the baby."

Charles paused, his chopsticks still in hand.

His narrow eyes slowly lifted, studying Cecilia with a probing look.

Cecilia thought Charles had figured out she wanted to bring Lydia Lin, so she quickly looked away, feeling a little uneasy.

To Charles, Cecilia’s movement meant something else: Was she really going to see Max Mo despite being pregnant? Did she like Max Mo that much?

Charles’s fingers tightened, and the oak chopsticks in his hand snapped with a sharp crack!

The butler’s expression changed slightly. He hurried forward and said quietly, "Sir, I’ll get you a new pair..."

"No need," Charles interrupted coldly. "I’m already finished!"

With a loud smack, he slammed the broken chopsticks onto the table, making Cecilia flinch.

Charles Yin, I’m sorry!

Lydia has a brain tumor. She only has about a month left to live, and I want to spend as much time with her as I can.

We grew up together. I just can’t stand by and watch her leave this world with regrets.

I’m sorry... I won’t get in the way of your business meetings. The golf course is huge—I just want to keep Lydia company, that’s all...

Since Charles stopped eating, Cecilia felt awkward continuing and quietly put down her chopsticks too.

Charles didn’t even glance at Cecilia and told Alex to get the car ready.

Thick-skinned, Cecilia followed along anyway.

If she guessed right, Lydia was probably already at the Yin Country Club.

If she didn’t hurry over, Lydia would definitely get anxious waiting.

As expected, Charles completely ignored Cecilia. They sat in the back of the car, each in their own corner, not speaking to each other.

The Yin Country Club was one of the Yin Consortium’s properties in Newport City.

It was one of the top estates in the city and the province, with all its turf imported from England. Rumor had it, construction cost over a hundred million.

After opening, the club became a favorite spot for local VIPs to discuss business.

First, the place was huge, so you didn’t have to worry about anyone overhearing secrets.

Second, the scenery was beautiful and the facilities top-notch. Whether deals succeeded or failed, it was still a pleasure to be there.

When the convoy arrived at the club, Cecilia spotted Lydia Lin blending into the crowd, waiting eagerly for her.

Cecilia immediately pulled out her phone and told Lydia which area she and Charles were in today.

Otherwise, with the club so big, searching every area would keep her busy for ages.

After the convoy stopped in the Yin Family’s exclusive zone, Cecilia got out of the car with the help of an assistant.

Looking around, everything was lush and green.

The Yin Country Club was divided into eight main zones. The Yin Family occupied Zone One exclusively, while the other seven zones were rented out.

Each zone had its own lounge, golf area, and supporting amenities like hot springs, dining, massages, and more.

Tourist shuttles ran between the eight zones, so getting around was super convenient.

As soon as Cecilia entered her lounge, Lydia Lin slipped in like a cat from behind the door.
