Rainbowwing Thunder Moth

12/19/2025

On the way deeper into Grandridge, Joe Di saw more than once the remnants of shattered artifacts, as well as the ruins of sects left behind.

In many places marked by the scars of great battles, mottled Dao resonance lingered. Some areas even had clear traces of Dao, and if one stayed a little longer, they could sense the direction of the Dao thoughts left by fallen experts.

Joe Di finally understood why this place was renowned for Dao enlightenment. For cultivators who had perfected Dao Forging or Dao Nurturing, finding a spot where their Dao thoughts resonated could truly allow them to break through their shackles and reach a higher realm.

However, Joe Di knew these things were of no use to him. First, he cultivated the Path of Laws. No matter how powerful the fallen experts of Grandridge were, or how obvious the traces of sect ruins, he would never find a true inheritance of the Path of Laws. His own Path of Laws was formed by fusing the Ninth Prime Law, the Sacred Yin Pearl, and his own Dao thoughts.

Both the Ninth Prime Law and the Sacred Yin Pearl originated from the dawn of cosmic chaos. For this kind of Dao, there could be no one who cultivated it earlier than he did. Even if there were an inheritance, it would be from cultivators who came after him.

Secondly, even if such an inheritance existed, Joe Di would never use it to prove his Dao. Even if he succeeded, it would be someone else's Dao, not his own.

Grandridge stretched for countless miles. Once Joe Di realized its Dao was useless to him, he no longer bothered to seek enlightenment from others' Dao.

It wasn't easy for him to come to Grandridge, so he certainly couldn't just leave like this.

Rumor had it that aside from enlightenment, Grandridge also held the relics of ancient experts for those lucky enough. Some cultivators even obtained Dao Veins here.

Previously, Joe Di thought that when Xu Bai Shang casually promised him ten Dao Veins, Dao Veins were not rare in the Dao Domain. He assumed they were like Immortal Spirit Veins—once one's cultivation rose, they could acquire many. From the Daihe Hall alone, he had obtained a huge pile of top-grade Immortal Spirit Veins.

When Joe Di truly arrived in the Dao Domain, he immediately realized that Dao Veins were absolutely the most precious resource here. Not to mention a top-grade Dao Vein—even a low-grade one was enough for a mid-tier sect to establish its foundation.

No wonder when he offered half a Dao Vein to request teleportation out of Leap Dao Gate Divine City, the steward didn't even say a word in protest and let him go wherever he wished.

Joe Di searched for treasures and relics while comprehending Lawstride, simultaneously deducing the changes of the Path of Laws.

Time slipped by in this rapid Lawstride. Joe Di's mastery of Lawstride became increasingly smooth, and eventually, whenever he landed, he could instantly sense the spatial laws around him.

Grandridge was vast, and countless cultivators had entered throughout history seeking enlightenment. There were many lingering traces of powerful Dao resonance, yet after half a year, Joe Di had not found a single Dao Vein.

In half a year, apart from fully mastering Lawstride, Joe Di's understanding of Lawshift had grown enough to allow him to disguise himself. Though he couldn't yet alter his entire physique, he could make minor changes. What pleased Joe Di most was his ability to change his appearance and aura.

To be able to change his appearance and aura, along with minor physical alterations, was already more than enough for Joe Di. This disguise technique far surpassed any disguise artifact or elixir.

The deeper he comprehended Lawshift, the more profound it seemed. Joe Di suspected that to freely transform into grass or wood, his cultivation would need to reach the Second Step.

This was no longer something that could be solved by spending more time on deduction. He had to advance his Path of Laws further—in other words, his cultivation needed another breakthrough.

With this in mind, Joe Di stopped. Continuing to deduce Lawstride and Lawshift was now meaningless. Instead, he should find a place to enter seclusion for a while and see if he could break through to Dao Nurturing. If not, he would focus on improving his alchemy.

Joe Di's divine sense swept across the Ninth World, where he had a full hundred million God Origin Pills. If he could break through to Dao Nurturing, these pills would be enough to cultivate all the way to late Dao Spirit.

To Joe Di's surprise, when his divine sense entered the Ninth World, he discovered an extremely beautiful bird had appeared there.

This bird had a pair of iridescent wings, and a striking lightning-shaped mark on its beautiful head. Its beak was sharp and sturdy. At the moment, it was constantly devouring God Origin Pills.

Most remarkable of all, each of the bird's claws had seven toes. It was the first time Joe Di had ever seen a bird with seven toes on each foot.

Joe Di immediately descended into his Ninth World and reached out to grab the bird. He had no idea when a bird had appeared in his Ninth World—it was simply too bizarre.

Seeing Joe Di enter, the bird instantly flew toward him. Just as Joe Di was about to strike, he sensed the bird had no intention of attacking. On the contrary, it was extremely affectionate.

Joe Di swept his divine sense across the Ninth World again and immediately understood. This bird was hatched from the Rainbowwing Thunder Moth egg he had left in the Ninth World. He hadn't expected the egg to hatch into a bird—was it truly a bird, or a moth?

Looking at the affectionate bird, Joe Di knew that with just a thought, he could make it recognize him as its master. But he frowned slightly—he hadn't intended to hatch the moth egg at all.

It seemed that the egg, wrapped in chaotic energy within the Ninth World and surrounded by piles of God Origin Pills, had naturally hatched on its own.

The reason Joe Di didn't want the bird to recognize him as master wasn't because he disliked it, nor was it due to its lack of quality.

This bird, hatched amidst chaotic energy and God Origin Pills, was far superior in quality to a Rainbowwing Thunder Moth of the same rank. Yet Joe Di felt uneasy—the bird had hatched from the egg he obtained after slaying a Rainbowwing Thunder Moth.

To kill a Rainbowwing Thunder Moth and then hatch its egg into a pet—Joe Di couldn't accept that psychologically.

Even though the bird was beautiful, after a brief hesitation, Joe Di casually took it out of the Ninth World and said, "Go on, our fates do not align."

Clearly unable to understand Joe Di's words, the bird cried out incessantly upon release, then nipped at the corner of his robe and flew off in one direction.

Joe Di understood the bird's meaning—it wanted him to follow. But he didn't move. After the bird flew away, he quickly left in the opposite direction.

This bird was the first living creature to appear in the Ninth World since its formation, so Joe Di didn't want to kill it.

When the bird realized Joe Di hadn't followed, it returned again, grabbed the corner of his robe with its beak, and tried to drag him in the direction it had just flown.

Could there be something good? This time, Joe Di didn't refuse. Perhaps the bird wanted to thank him for nurturing it in the Ninth World and was leading him to a treasure.

No matter how fast the bird flew, Joe Di's Mindshift could keep up. After just half a stick of incense's time, the bird suddenly landed at the base of a rocky mountain and began calling out. As it called, it kept turning to look at Joe Di.

Joe Di examined the rocky mountain repeatedly, but found nothing amiss. His formation skills were not inferior, and though he wasn't on par with veteran formation masters, he could still spot ordinary concealment arrays. This rocky mountain showed no signs of formation nor any hidden natural restriction.

Watching the colorful bird cry out incessantly, Joe Di simply activated his Eye of the Way.

Under the Eye of the Way, a faint light flashed and a sinister aura surged forth, causing a stabbing pain in Joe Di's eyes. He quickly shut them.

Half an hour later, Joe Di opened his Eye of the Way again. This time, he saw more clearly—a corner of the rocky mountain concealed an array gate, and beneath it, a rolling, menacing yin aura surged. This was definitely not a good place. Just as Joe Di was about to retract his Eye of the Way and leave, the Reincarnation Bridge in his sea of consciousness suddenly trembled.

Ever since Joe Di had collected the Reincarnation Bridge, it had remained motionless, and he hadn't had time to study it. Unexpectedly, at this very place, the bridge began to tremble.
