Chapter 625: Who Says You Can't Kill Them?
Leon desperately pushed his mana array to the limit, siphoning magical power from a soul mana crystal to recover, while channeling the surging energy into the Death Tome—doing everything he could to support the Crystal Phoenix.
Seconds later, the Crystal Phoenix’s left wing was pierced by a rune-etched, jet-black bone spike. Corrupt power clashed violently with the Phoenix’s own, and black mist roiled madly around the wound as the Crystal Phoenix shrieked in agony.
A fatal opening had appeared—those swarming bone spikes and the hundreds of frenzied, lashing tentacles could tear it apart in mere seconds.
With a mournful cry, the Crystal Phoenix transformed into a streak of light and dove toward Leon.
Leon hurriedly opened the Death Tome, summoning Reina the Frost Dragon and Hubert the Dragonblood Orc back. Everyone clustered together, with Hubert standing guard while the rest unleashed spells in a frenzy to intercept the pursuing Eye of the Undead.
With the torrent of spells holding it back suddenly broken, the Death Knight surged forward at terrifying speed.
The streak of light that was the Crystal Phoenix couldn’t reach the Death Tome in time—the Death Knight would get there first!
Hubert was already in utter despair.
"Archmage Leon, this time Hubert really is doomed..."
Even Reina the Frost Dragon showed a look of utter despair.
It's over. I'll never see my father revived...
Just as everyone was losing hope, Leon gritted his teeth and did something unexpected—a pair of flaming wings suddenly appeared on his back, and he flew toward the streak of light that was the Crystal Phoenix.
Hubert was stunned, and so was Reina.
On a battlefield like this, casting Flight is basically asking to get killed—it's almost suicidal!
High above, the Eye of the Undead, its hundreds of massive tentacles thrashing, chased after the Crystal Phoenix. Against such an attack, Leon's protective spells would be lucky to last three seconds! And then there was the Death Knight, finally free to unleash its full power!
But Leon's reckless move brought the greatest hope—Flight sent him hurtling toward the Crystal Phoenix at breakneck speed, cutting the time it took for the Phoenix to reach the Death Tome in half!
In two seconds, Leon had reached midair, gripping the open Death Tome. The Crystal Phoenix, now a streak of light, shot into the Death Tome.
On the previously blank page, a new image appeared—the old crystal design vanished, replaced by a lifelike Crystal Phoenix spreading its wings in flight.
The Chapter of Truth had fully merged into the Death Tome!
