Chapter 988: Bloodstone Gem

Heron hesitated. He'd witnessed Leon's wonders before, but this was almost too much to believe. Solidifying the Plane Path was at least a hundred times more difficult than opening a temporary one.

The gap between the two was as vast as that between an ordinary Grandmaster and a powerful Worldshaper. In fact, the difficulty wasn't even on the same scale; there was simply no comparison.

Right now, the alchemist team from Sky City was led by a Worldshaper, with four Grandmasters and over a dozen master alchemists. Even so, after all this time, they hadn't managed to open the Plane Path, let alone solidify it...

The gap was just too great—it was impossible. If solidifying the Plane Path were feasible, the human factions wouldn't have had to reopen it every time the Blazeforge Battlefield was activated, year after year...

Heron gritted his teeth, giving up on arguing or bargaining with Diras. With only fifty percent of the profits, the Black Tower would barely gain anything—and still face enormous risks.

Might as well withdraw now. If the Solidified Plane Path actually succeeded, they wouldn't need to split half the profits—at least not nearly that much...

And if it failed, well, they'd just skip the Blazeforge Battlefield next time—the risks far outweighed the rewards...

Most of the people from the Andalusia Kingdom didn't believe that one of Leon's seemingly unremarkable subordinates could actually solidify the Plane Path.

But no one said anything—after all, they were all from the Andalusia Kingdom. If it failed, so be it; if it succeeded, they'd stand to gain far more.

On the Odin Kingdom's side, the five factions wore distrust in their eyes—none of them believed Leon's subordinate could accomplish something so vastly difficult. Yet not a single person stepped forward to voice their doubts.

Compared to a mere ten percent profit—what if, by some miracle, the solidification succeeded?

If the Solidified Plane Path succeeded, it would remain open permanently. Not only would this entry be safer and more convenient, but every time the Blazeforge Battlefield reopened, the human factions wouldn't need to go through the hassle again. Next time, they'd surely gain even more advantage over the orcs.

Only Diras burst out laughing, bent over with mirth, tears nearly streaming down his face.

“Hahaha... This is killing me, Leon Merlin! This is hands down the funniest joke I've ever heard. Solidify the Plane Path? You damned fool, do you even know what that means? Do you understand the implications at all?

At your age, you probably focus on leveling up, barely reaching Title Archmage, right? Do you know anything about alchemy? Do you even have a shred of common sense?

Your joke put me in such a good mood, I won't even charge a Mana Crystal—I'll give you a lesson in common sense for free.

Let me break it down for you, since I doubt you'd understand anything too profound. Imagine there's an abyss between two planes. The people of Skyhold Fortress are basically tossing a rope across, letting us cross.

Solidifying the Plane Path would be like building a sturdy bridge of magic artifacts across that abyss—wide, stable, safe. Even a pig-like beast could cross without worry.

The alchemists Skyhold Fortress brought this time aren't the absolute top Worldshapers of the Odin Kingdom, but they're still elite. Yet even they can only manage to open the Plane Path. Not even the Odin Kingdom's best Worldshapers can solidify the Plane Path here.
