On the earth below, the citizens of the Women’s Kingdom had already retreated far into the distance. They stood on the edge of the desert, watching from afar.
……
High in the sky, Mother Nuwa’s figure traced an arc as she shot straight toward Nuwa Temple. Her expression was cold as stone, like a living statue.
The Monkey King she cradled in her arms was already at death’s door.
……
Deep within the temple, Master Sage Subhuti gently stroked the Emerald Wall, his lips trembling as he murmured softly.
In that moment, what slowly surfaced in his mind was the scene from over six hundred years ago—nine Soul Tokens, exploding one by one before him.
How similar it all is. These… are the price to be paid.
……
Lord Lao slowly bowed his head and sighed softly.
Everyone in Tusita Palace had fallen silent.
……
Damon Six-Ears rushed after them in haste.
He suddenly realized that Mother Nuwa was slowing down, seemingly preparing to land. He couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief, gripping the Golden Staff tighter, ready for this final battle.
Yet at that moment, he saw Mother Nuwa hovering in midair above the temple.
"Rise—!"
With that sharp, ringing command, the earth immediately began to tremble.
Damon Six-Ears’ eyes widened, and his grip on the Golden Staff tightened even more.
……
Deep within the temple, rubble tumbled down.
Master Sage Subhuti watched as the Emerald Wall slowly retreated before him, until he was backed into the corner.
……
In the pavilion, the Buddhas stood in silence, their brows deeply furrowed.
……
Mother Nuwa slowly turned her head, gazing at Damon Six-Ears.
Beneath her, amid violent tremors, the temple was collapsing piece by piece. Yet the fallen stones eerily floated up into the air, suspended all around.
Damon Six-Ears was startled, instinctively retreating a step.
He could clearly sense that Mother Nuwa’s cultivation was far beyond the Da Luo Golden Immortal realm, yet not quite at the level of Heavenly Dao. Most importantly, something seemed to be restraining her. If not for that, Damon Six-Ears would never have dared chase her here.
But what did her sudden change of direction mean?
Unable to figure it out, Damon Six-Ears could only wait in silence, just to be safe.
In just a brief moment, everything around them had undergone a world-shaking transformation.
Mountain rocks and the fallen stones of the collapsed temple all floated into the sky. Trees were uprooted, and even the creatures that failed to escape were swept up into the air, as if a colossal magnet in the heavens were drawing everything upward.
The nearby lake, once calm, was now surging with waves, its waters churning as if about to leap into the sky.
Staring at this bewildering scene, Damon Six-Ears stammered, "What... what are you trying to do?"
Mother Nuwa replied lightly, "I intend to take your life."
At these words, Damon Six-Ears immediately burst out laughing.
Yet Mother Nuwa did not laugh.
"You are still inexperienced in the ways of the world. Even if you have done wrong, you were never truly free to choose. I understand that. But in the current situation, someone must make a sacrifice. So, forgive me."
"I don't understand what you're saying. Kill me? Hahahaha!" Damon Six-Ears threw his head back and laughed wildly. "You probably don't know—no one can kill me. Not even Lord Buddha or the Daoist Patriarchs. Hahahaha!"
When he looked at Mother Nuwa, he found that even after hearing this, her face showed no change at all. Her expression seemed to say his fate was already sealed, that there was no escape. Her resolve was so absolute, not wavering in the slightest.
Instantly, his laughter was cut off, as if strangled by an unseen hand. A sense of dread suddenly welled up in Damon Six-Ears’ heart.
At this moment, amid violent tremors, the grand Nuwa Temple beneath them had completely collapsed. In its place rose a massive, cracked hill, its ravines several yards wide—wide enough to swallow an elephant.
Through those chasms, Damon Six-Ears suddenly glimpsed something beyond anything he had ever known—a colossal block of emerald!
"What... what are you trying to do?" The sense of foreboding in Damon Six-Ears’ heart grew stronger. He found himself retreating without thinking.
"I told you—I intend to take your life," Mother Nuwa replied just as lightly as before.
"Impossible! In all the world, there is no one who can kill me—!"
The colossal emerald that had lain buried for thousands of years was now fully risen to the surface. The stones clinging to it peeled away one by one, floating in midair.
The figure within the emerald was growing ever clearer.
Damon Six-Ears’ eyes widened slightly as he stared in a daze.
It wasn’t until the colossal emerald hovered behind Mother Nuwa, and the dim shadow within the Emerald Wall overlapped with her figure, that Damon Six-Ears finally understood.
"Is this... your true form?"
Mother Nuwa did not answer.
"I see. So you’ve been deliberately hiding your cultivation." Damon Six-Ears gripped the Golden Staff and said through gritted teeth, "But you still can’t defeat me, at least you can’t kill me. No matter how strong you are, it won’t help!"
"Is that so?"
In her arms, the Monkey King slowly opened his eyes and gazed quietly at Mother Nuwa.
Suddenly, the emerald behind her emitted a deep hum. In the next instant, a ring of green radiance exploded outward. The emerald light spread silently along the ground, sweeping across all things in an instant.
……
Upon the lotus dais, Tathagata’s expression had grown heavier than ever before. It was a gravity unseen in ten thousand years.
All around him, the Buddhas and Arhats stared in stunned disbelief.
……
"Is it worth it?" A voice echoed in Mother Nuwa’s mind. It was Tathagata’s voice.
"Why wouldn’t it be? For my child, anything is worth it." Mother Nuwa replied lightly.
Mother Nuwa retreated step by step.
The emerald behind her began to shake violently, emitting a series of hums like thousands of bees buzzing in every corner of the world.

The sense of foreboding in Damon Six-Ears’ heart was gradually turning into real fear. He stared at Mother Nuwa, swallowing hard.
The scene before him was so bizarre that, by rights, he should have retreated and reconsidered. But was he really willing to just walk away?
The Monkey King was still in Mother Nuwa’s grasp—the very person Damon Six-Ears had dreamed of tearing apart. Could he really let this opportunity slip by?
It was something he simply could not accept.
He wavered, hesitated again and again.
Time trickled by, and the humming grew louder and louder, until Damon Six-Ears felt his head might explode. Yet he grit his teeth and endured.
"Stop... stop with the tricks. It's useless, I've investigated everything. I’ve already reached the Heavenly Dao realm—nothing in this world can harm me, you can't fool me!"
"Is that so?" Mother Nuwa continued to retreat, now almost touching the emerald. "If that's true, what is it that you’ve always feared?"
With that question, Damon Six-Ears froze.
At that moment, a crisp crack sounded, and a tiny fissure appeared on the smooth surface of the wall, spreading rapidly!
Damon Six-Ears was completely stunned.
……
A thousand miles away, Yang Chan, leading a group of demon generals in a hurried rush, quickly halted in midair. Her followers also stopped one by one.
Ahead of them, at the edge of the sky, amid flashing lightning, a black dot was slowly taking shape.
……
Gigantic bolts of lightning crashed down from the sky like towering pillars, sweeping across the land. Everything they touched—rock or tree—was instantly reduced to ash.
Staring up at the rapidly forming black vortex above his head, Damon Six-Ears’ mind went completely blank.
Mother Nuwa continued to retreat, and behind her, the colossal emerald had split open.
Through the fissure, the shadow within the emerald became clear—a face identical to Mother Nuwa’s, its eyes slowly opening.
"You’re right, you’ve reached the Heavenly Dao and become immortal. In all the Three Realms, no one and nothing can truly destroy you. But have you forgotten? You still fear the Heavenly Tribulation. You never know when it might strike. As it happens, I am someone who can summon the Heavenly Tribulation." Mother Nuwa slowly turned, gently lifting the Monkey King from her arms and sending him toward the opening in the emerald. At the same time, her true form within the Emerald Wall, with its long serpentine tail, swam toward the fissure.
Damon Six-Ears was utterly stunned. Goosebumps covered his body. Staring at the rapidly forming vortex overhead, he gaped, unable to utter a word.
"Stop struggling, child. Let it all end."
Passing by Mother Nuwa’s true form, the Monkey King was sent into the emerald, while Nuwa’s true form finally broke free of all restraints, embracing the soul within and merging together.
When all was done, Mother Nuwa slowly turned to face Damon Six-Ears and smiled softly. "Don’t worry, I’ll go to the void with you. You won’t be alone."
Right before Damon Six-Ears’ eyes, the fissure in the Emerald Wall slowly closed, sealing the Monkey King inside and cutting off all signs of life.
"No... no!" Damon Six-Ears shook his head in panic. "I don’t want to go back to that hellish place! I don’t want to—!"
Howling, he swung the Golden Staff at Mother Nuwa!
