Blood-Eye’s Entanglement
Lily Bai shook her head. That kid really was living comfortably in the Demon Emperor's Palace.
......
She turned and headed back to her own quarters.
As soon as she arrived, she sensed something was off.
She instantly raised her Rune Staff and stared up at the rafters. "Show yourself!"
A huge, red-eyed black python appeared on the beams, dropped to the floor, and transformed into human form—it was Blood-Eye.
"What, the Tribulation Storm Array didn't discipline you enough yet?" Lily raised an eyebrow.
Blood-Eye grinned and moved closer. "Lily Bai, you're a Demon Slayer, yet you hang out with us all the time... Are you planning to pledge loyalty to our Demon Emperor?"
Lily Bai: "None of your business."
"How is it not my business? From now on, we're not enemies anymore!" Blood-Eye tossed his hair flirtatiously.
"So what?"
Blood-Eye stepped right up to her, cupped his chin with one hand, and said with a smirk, "So, I'm determined to have you."
Lily Bai rolled her eyes. "Get out! Next time, don't show up uninvited, or I won't be so polite!"
"Don't be like that!" Blood-Eye said. "I'm really strong! I promise, once you get a taste, you'll fall in love with me!"
"Thanks for the offer, but I won't fall for you." Lily pointed to the door. "Can you leave now?"
"Just give it a try!" He refused to give up, reaching out to hug her.
But halfway through the hug, he hesitated.
Because Lily was holding a dagger covered in talismanic scripts, radiating a terrifying aura to any demon beast.
It was inscribed with a Dan-Dissolving Talisman.
Even a scratch that drew a drop of demon beast blood would slowly dissolve their demon core, feeding it into the dagger.
The more demon core it absorbed, the stronger the dagger became.
And Lily Bai's dagger had never failed—by now, it was seriously powerful.
"Do we really have to fight?" Blood-Eye asked. "If I beat you, will that be enough?"
"Beat me first, then we'll talk."
"You said it!" Blood-Eye suddenly reverted to his true form and lunged at her.
Lily Bai drew out Entwined Heart.
The two of them nearly tore the roof off.
It quickly attracted a crowd.
Azure Flame, Baxa, Nine Li, and a whole squad of Marching Wing Guards rushed over.
Damian Black finally showed himself.
He stepped in and stopped their demolition-style brawl.
"What's going on?" Damian Black asked, face stern.
Lily Bai said nothing.
It was hard to talk about.
Blood-Eye just grinned and waved his hand. "Your Majesty! Nothing serious! I just wanted her as my mate, but she wasn't interested."
Nine Li's eyes widened.
Baxa let out a chuckle.
Azure Flame glanced at Damian Black.
Damian Black casually stepped between Blood-Eye and Lily Bai, blocking Blood-Eye's view, and asked, "So, are you planning to tear down the Demon Emperor’s Palace?"
"My bad, Your Majesty!" Blood-Eye said with a grin. "Your palace is just too flimsy! Let's take it outside."
He skirted around Damian Black to grab Lily Bai. "Come on, Lily Bai, let's take this outside! No need to wreck His Majesty's palace-cave."
But before he could touch Lily Bai's arm, Damian Black blocked him again. "Out."
"Your Majesty!" Blood-Eye looked baffled. "What's with you? You never cared when I was courting before!"
Damian Black was silent for a moment. "She doesn't want to."
"Women! If I beat her, she'll have to want to, whether she likes it or not! Right, Baxa?"
Baxa said, "Lily Bai is our guest, not one of the Primeval Demon Wilds. I suggest you pick someone else! She—"
"But I like her!" Blood-Eye cut in. "I just like Lily Bai!"
Then you can wait to die!
Baxa didn't bother persuading him anymore.
