Fierce Battle with the Yin–Yang Demon Empress Part Four
Evan Chu and the Yin–Yang Demon Empress unleashed their swords at almost the exact same moment. This strike truly shattered the heavens and the earth—neither of them had even taken to the air, yet the devastation was like nothing Evan had ever witnessed before.
The Yin–Yang Demon Empress's dozens of phantom bodies all slashed out at once—their sword-qi instantly merged together, perfectly mimicking the Beast King's Nine-Heaven Divine Dragon Metamorphosis. The only difference was, the Beast King's body was real, while this monster's was nothing but illusion.
The terrifying power of over a dozen fused sword-qi attacks was beyond imagination. Evan’s Unicorn Arm stacked with Divine Cleave was monstrous in its own right. Both sides went all out with this strike, and for a moment the space within tens of thousands of li was shaking violently, twisting as if it could tear open at any second.
A wild energy storm erupted across the desert, whipping up endless yellow sand that blotted out the sky—though that was almost secondary compared to the real devastation.
Their combined attacks turned the entire desert into a sea of fire. The yellow sand on the ground was blasted skyward, its sheer weight impossible to describe—yet under their power, it was as light as a feather. Even the magma beneath the earth erupted into the air, scattering everywhere.
The blazing heat made the air hiss and roar. Evan and the Yin–Yang Demon Empress were sent flying like broken kites, each tumbling thousands of meters before crashing to the ground.
Several of Evan’s ribs were broken, and his wounds were so deep you could see his organs. Golden blood kept pouring out, while black demonic qi rapidly corroded his body, sending waves of agony through him.
But Evan’s willpower didn’t waver for a second—he climbed up from the ground without hesitation. This was the defense of the Starforge Body, Eighth Layer; if he were still at the Seventh Layer, even his organs might have been destroyed. The Yin–Yang Demon Empress’s attack power was truly terrifying.
Inside his body, the elemental spheres spun rapidly. The wood element quickly repaired his wounds—within a few breaths, the corrosion had stopped, and his injuries began healing visibly to the naked eye.
"That strike from the Yin–Yang Demon Empress was at least at Heavenly God Realm level... Could she actually be a Heavenly God? That’s way too terrifying!" Evan muttered, lingering fear in his voice.
The Yin–Yang Demon Empress wasn’t having an easy time either. She’d thought she could finish Evan with that blow, but now she was also gravely wounded. Evan’s sword-qi carried thunder element—his Thundershift had reached the second layer, and the paralyzing effect was obvious, leaving her unable to move for quite a while.
Black blood kept pouring from her wounds, some so deep her organs were visible, and several bones were broken. In terms of damage, they were evenly matched, but when it came to recovery, the Yin–Yang Demon Empress was far weaker than Evan. Her wounds showed no sign of healing, while Evan’s had already mostly closed.
After a while, she finally managed to climb up—maybe from the ground, maybe from the magma itself. By now, the yellow sand had become a sea of fire, but the flames couldn’t hurt her at all, and they were even less of a threat to Evan. Her control over fire was leagues above that of the Demon Emperor whose body she’d seized.
Evan flashed forward, appearing before the Yin–Yang Demon Empress with a grin. "Surprised to see I’m not dead by your sword? Your attack was strong, no doubt—Heavenly God Realm level, for sure. But compared to me, you’re still too weak. This is your day to die!"
The Yin–Yang Demon Empress’s face twisted in disbelief. "You actually know I’m a Heavenly God Realm powerhouse? Seems you’ve met such beings before. Who are you, and why are you in the Immortal Realm? No one in this realm should be able to withstand my full-force strike."
"Because of my special body, I can’t ascend to the Demonic Realm. But you’re from the Immortal Realm—once you reach God-Man Realm, you must ascend. Could you be someone sent down from the God Realm?"
"You’re not qualified to know who I am," Evan replied coldly. "But I’ll tell you this much—you’re dying here today. I’ll end you myself!"
When the Yin–Yang Demon Empress saw the golden blood on Evan, she was even more shocked. Only the Dragon Clan—specifically the Golden Dragon line—had such blood, and everyone across the Three Realms knew it. That meant he was Dragon Clan, a member of the Immortal Beast race.
"At this point, I’ve got nothing left to hide. You don’t have the power to kill me yet, but I admit you’re the strongest opponent I’ve ever faced. If I have to spend a hundred thousand years in seclusion to recover, I’ll still kill you!" the Yin–Yang Demon Empress declared.
"A hundred thousand years in seclusion? You think you’ll even get the chance? Are you planning to use some forbidden technique that’ll take ten years to recover from?" Evan shot back instantly.
"You’re clever—and absolutely right," the Yin–Yang Demon Empress sneered. "I was planning to seize your body, but now I see there’s no point. A Dragon Clan vessel is useless to me. Today, I’ll show you my ultimate skill—Devour!"
As soon as she finished speaking, flames wrapped around her body in the magma. The surrounding magma rushed toward her, gathering and growing until a fireball the size of a plaza formed in an instant.
Evan kept retreating, stunned by the bizarre scene—he’d never seen anything like it before. He knew he could counter it by using the Heart of Frostflame to extinguish the gathered flames instantly, but that treasure was far too precious for him to use lightly.
The massive fireball slowly shrank—Evan realized the Empress was absorbing its fire energy. He had to act now. With a thought, he unleashed Divine Cleave, striking the fireball dead-on.
But this time, Evan was left speechless—Divine Cleave didn’t cut or disperse the fireball at all. Instead, an invisible force bounced the attack back, forcing him to retreat dozens of steps before he could steady himself.
"Hahaha! Boy, while I’m devouring energy, you can’t touch me. I’ve burned a third of my soul power to create an infinite barrier—unless you have late-stage Heavenly God Realm strength, you’ll never break it!" the Empress’s voice echoed from inside the fireball.
Evan was about to retort when the fireball suddenly shifted—splitting into countless flames that converged into a single line and poured into the Empress’s mouth. Her body began to expand, growing larger and larger...
