Counterattack of the Nine-Color Mirror

The elder just laughed and said, "I know that, which is why I'm here to tell you: we get the man first. Once my disciple's matters are settled, I'll hand him over to you."

Steward Fenn was troubled when he heard this. Although the other party was a master, if he learned the Fenn Family's Tyrant Seal Art, it would spell disaster. So he replied awkwardly, "Senior, this involves the Fenn Family's secret technique. I'm afraid..."

"Are you afraid we'll ask him about the secret technique?" The elder's smile faded, and he seemed a bit angry.

Steward Fenn saw his expression and quickly smiled, "That's not what I meant. I'm just afraid others might ask."

"What do you Fenns mean by this? You killed my brothers and still won't apologize, now you have so many excuses!" The First Peak Lord was furious when he heard this.

The elder spoke again, "Enough. That's enough."

The First Peak Lord listened to the elder. As soon as he spoke, the First Peak Lord shut his mouth.

"Senior, how about this: when we catch him, your people can come over. Once I've finished questioning him, I'll hand him over to you," Steward Fenn said.

"That won't do. We must have him first." The elder also knew about the map; if the captured man revealed anything, it would be a problem. That's why he was personally intervening.

Steward Fenn hadn't expected this senior to be so stubborn at this moment. He looked at the elder awkwardly, "Senior, aren't you making things difficult for me?"

"One sentence: we get the man first. When we're done with him, we'll hand him over to you," the elder said, then turned and ignored Steward Fenn's expression, leaving with the First Peak Lord and the others.

Although the First Peak Lord got some face in this exchange, he was furious inside. His three brothers had died for nothing, but since his master wouldn't let him speak, he could only follow along.

Seeing the elder so forceful, Steward Fenn spoke up as they were about to leave, "We get the man first."

The elder stopped, his aura shifting. The hall fell silent. Steward Fenn gathered his courage and repeated, "We want the man."

"Looks like you still don't understand me. Bring out your clan master," the elder replied.

"Our clan master is in seclusion and can't come out," Steward Fenn said.

"Then stop wasting words. With your abilities, none of you can stop me," the elder said.

Steward Fenn hadn't expected the elder to be so domineering. But with the Fenns' current strength, they really weren't a match for him. He could only watch helplessly as the elder left with the First Peak Lord and the others.

After they left, Third Fenn Uncle and others came out from outside the Fenn Shrine. Third Fenn Uncle asked, "Steward Fenn, who was that?"

"The master of the First Peak Lord from Sevenmile Peak," Steward Fenn sighed.

"That was way too strong." Just now, Third Fenn Uncle and the others had been stuck outside, unable to enter because a terrifying aura kept them out.

"Yeah, except for the clan master, probably no one can stop him," Steward Fenn said helplessly.

"Damn it, this is too much! If worst comes to worst, we'll use the Nine-Color Mirror," Third Fenn Uncle said angrily.

"Don't joke. The Nine-Color Mirror is only useful for surprise attacks. If you bring it out too early, it loses its effect," Steward Fenn replied.

"So we're just going to let them get away with this?" Third Fenn Uncle protested.

"Let them for now. But their informants aren't as many as ours, so from now on, whenever there's news about that person, only you few will know. No one else is to tell them," Steward Fenn said, knowing he couldn't do anything about the elder, but the Fenns still had their own resources.

Third Fenn Uncle and the others nodded.

Outside, Evan Yang saw the group come out and muttered, "Why didn't they start a fight?"

"The Fenn Patriarch is in seclusion. Right now, only the stewards and second-generation members are here. None of them can match that elder. Do you think they'd be stupid enough to make a move?" Mad Elder laughed.

"I thought they would, but it looks like nothing's changed," Evan Yang said, feeling helpless about the outcome.

"Alright, show's over. Let's go," Mad Elder said.

"There'll be more tomorrow. Just wait and see how I storm the Fenn Family alone," Evan Yang said with a smile.

Mad Elder looked at Evan Yang curiously, "You're not really going, are you?"

"I'm not joking." Evan Yang knew that the longer he delayed, the worse it would be for Ye Chen, so he had to try. He no longer believed the Fenns would willingly hand over the solution.

"I advise you not to go. A big clan isn't something you can mess with so easily. You may have plenty of tricks, but there will always be a time you get in over your head." Seeing Evan Yang really intended to go to the Fenn Family, Mad Elder sighed.

Evan Yang smiled, "I really need that solution, otherwise my friend won't make it."

"You..." Mad Elder didn't know what else to say to Evan Yang.

"Alright, senior, time to rest. Let's watch the show tomorrow," Evan Yang said with a smile.

After saying this, Evan Yang lay down. He wasn't actually sleeping, just thinking—going over everything that might happen tomorrow, keeping it all in mind and planning his approach.

At dawn the next day, after confirming he could once again merge with Little Leo, Evan Yang left the inn, went to a corner, and disguised himself as the person who had previously come to the Fenns demanding the secret technique.

The Fenn gate guards saw it was the same person from before and quickly went to report. When Steward Fenn heard the news, he was shocked. He told those below, "Everyone, stand aside and let him in."

"Let him in?" The guards wondered if they'd heard wrong.

"Let him in! Didn't you hear what I said?" Steward Fenn barked angrily when the guards didn't move.

The guards quickly went to relay the order, and soon, wherever Evan Yang passed, the guards automatically stepped aside.

"Quick reaction. That's good—less trouble for me," Evan Yang thought, relieved the guards weren't making a move.

Evan Yang didn't realize Steward Fenn knew about his monstrous strength—if he used that secret technique, he could wipe out all the guards in an instant. Steward Fenn's plan was to lure Evan Yang to the Fenn Shrine and then use the Nine-Color Mirror on him.

Evan Yang had no idea he'd already fallen into the Fenns' trap. He thought that with his beast-phantom, he could threaten the Fenns for a quarter of an hour.

Familiar with the area, Evan Yang soon arrived at the Fenn Shrine, which was also the clan's council hall. Many people had already gathered there.

"Kid, you dare to come here alone?" Steward Fenn snorted coldly.

"You all know my strength, so I'll say it once: tell your clan master to give me the solution, or I'll destroy the Fenn Family right now," Evan Yang said sternly.

"Kid, you're arrogant! Do you really think you're invincible?" Steward Fenn snorted coldly.

"Why don't we test it and see?" Evan Yang sneered.

"Where is my son?" Suddenly, a middle-aged man beside Steward Fenn shouted angrily at Evan Yang.

"Your son?" Evan Yang didn't recognize the man.

"I'm Second Fenn Lord's father. Your friend captured my son. Go back and tell him—he'd better make sure nothing happens to my son, or our Fenn Family will hunt him down," Second Fenn Uncle said angrily.

Evan Yang finally understood who this was—it was Second Fenn Lord's father. No wonder he'd been staring so fiercely; he was the one most worried about Second Fenn Lord. Right now, Evan Yang was here as the winemaker's friend, so they didn't know he was actually the winemaker himself.

"Then you'd better tell me the solution, or you can prepare for a funeral," Evan Yang said with a smile.

"Dream on!" Second Fenn Uncle snorted coldly.

"Kid, since you're here today, you won't be leaving," Steward Fenn snorted coldly.

Everyone around glared fiercely. "Are you really not afraid of death?" Evan Yang asked, seeing they showed no fear.

"That depends on whether you really have the ability," Steward Fenn sneered.

Everyone readied themselves for battle. Evan Yang cursed inwardly, "Looks like I have to show some strength or they won't be afraid."

Evan Yang instantly merged, and a phantom beast appeared on him. He knew he only had two chances, so he didn't use one right away. Instead, he smiled, "If you're not afraid of dying, then come at me!"

Evan Yang's sudden transformation shocked First Fenn Lord, Second Fenn Lord, and the others. Third Fenn Uncle and Steward Fenn had seen it before, so they weren't as afraid.

"Everyone, get ready," Steward Fenn transmitted to the others, then sneered at Evan Yang, "With just that damned thing?"

Then a golden light shot out—it was the same artifact Evan Yang had damaged days ago.

Seeing the golden light fly out, Evan Yang sneered, "It's already this broken and you still dare use it to block me?"

"If you've got the guts, come at us," Steward Fenn sneered.

Evan Yang felt something was off, but for now, he could only throw a punch to shatter their golden light, saving his other punch to threaten them further.

Evan Yang threw a powerful punch. As soon as he did, Steward Fenn and the others withdrew the golden light and suddenly produced a mirror.

Light radiated from the mirror, directly reflecting Evan Yang's attack back at him. The force sent him flying at incredible speed. Before he lost consciousness, Evan Yang cursed, "Fenns, you tricked me."

Seeing Evan Yang sent flying and disappearing from sight, Steward Fenn ordered, "Quick, find him."

Everyone moved, chasing in the direction Evan Yang had been thrown. Outside, people only saw something quickly rebound from the Fenn Family's roof, thinking the Fenns were up to something again.

Some observant people saw it was a person and were shocked. The figure looked like he was engulfed in flames, with drops of blood falling from him—but the blood quickly evaporated in the heat.

Then, several major figures from the Fenn Family appeared, heading straight for the person who'd been thrown out.

Mad Elder had been drinking, but when he saw the scene, he cursed, "Damn it, watching the show turned into watching a corpse."

Suddenly, with a flash, moving at extreme speed, just when Steward Fenn and the others thought they could catch Evan Yang, his body vanished.

"Vanished?" Steward Fenn and the others were shocked. They'd been moving fast and had locked onto Evan Yang, determined to catch him.

But Evan Yang just disappeared like that.

He vanished. Everyone thought of spatial treasures, but there was no trace of any spatial artifact here.
