Island Encounter 1

Lord Noctis sneered, "What evidence do I need against you? If I beat you until you can't help but tell the truth, isn't that good enough?"

"Uh..." He glanced anxiously at Divine Lord Tanya Quinn, pleading for help. "Divine Lord..."

"Noctis! Don't make a scene in front of His Majesty the Celestial Emperor!"

"This guy is no good!" Noctis jabbed a finger at Liam Leshan. "You should just break off your engagement with him!"

Divine Lord Tanya Quinn learned the control method for this magic mouse when she first took it from Emperor Ray Quinn.

With a flick of her spell, she turned Noctis back into a brocade mouse, picked him up, and said to the Celestial Emperor, "Looks like there's nothing urgent, so I'll take him away for now."

The Celestial Emperor nodded.

Liam Leshan watched Divine Lord Tanya Quinn hold the mouse, his face expressionless.

......

Lucy Luan and her companions' training isn't nearly as exhausting as before.

Sometimes they only train for half the day, and the rest is free time to do whatever they want.

Today, Lucy Luan and Sean Shaw headed to a small island near the Palace Guard Barracks. Using the sand on the beach, they built a sand-table to discuss troop formations.

In the middle of their conversation, Sean suddenly told her to go invisible.

Lucy hadn't sensed anyone approaching, but she still went invisible and cast a Concealment Spell on the sand-table to keep their plans hidden.

Not long after, someone flew over.

It was Lord Noctis.

Liam Leshan was right behind him.

Lucy secretly sent a sound transmission to Sean: "How did you know they were coming? It looked like they just teleported here!"

Sean replied, "Intuition."

"Wow, that's some impressive intuition!"

Sean hushed her, "Shh! Don't say anything yet. Even with sound transmission, Lord Noctis might be able to pick it up."

Lucy immediately clamped her mouth shut.

Lord Noctis turned to Liam Leshan, "Why did you bring me here?"

"Lord Noctis, you're extremely important to Tan'er. I admire you deeply and value you greatly, but I always feel like you have a bias against me. So, I wanted to ask—have I done something wrong?"

Noctis looked at him. "Tan'er? Who are you talking about?"

"Obviously the Phoenix Lord, Divine Lord Tanya Quinn," Liam said. "She's already my fiancée, so of course I can call her that."

Noctis snapped, "You have no right to call her that! If I hear you say it again..."

He flashed a wicked smile. "I'll kill you."

"Why are you always so hostile to me, Lord Noctis? I admire Divine Lord Tanya Quinn with all my heart and will support her loyally. I would never betray her."

"Hostile? You think you deserve it?" Noctis sneered. "What are you anyway? You think you're worth my hostility?"

"I may just be a minor god from the lower realms, but now I'm Divine Lord Tanya Quinn's chosen husband. One day, I'll share a bed with her, be a loving couple, and continue her bloodline. Why do you look down on me? Even if you don't like me, you shouldn't treat Tanya Quinn this way!"

A loving couple? Continue the bloodline?

Noctis's fists clenched tighter, his demonic aura growing darker.

"Besides..." A strange smile curled on Liam's lips. "You look down on me, but what about yourself? If I remember right, you used to be nothing but a rat everyone wanted dead, right?"

Noctis stared at him and laughed. "Are you trying to get yourself killed?"

"Even if you kill me today, it won't change your utterly low-born origins! Sure, everyone in the Three Divine Realms calls you 'Lord Noctis,' but that's just because of Emperor Ray Quinn! You haven't forgotten who you are, right? A rat mocking a god—now that's a real joke!"
