Even One Move Is Too Many

2/14/2026

Tyler Tu radiated arrogance. The moment he spoke, his butterfly knife flashed even more fiercely, slicing through the air with a whistling wind that filled the cramped elevator.

“Let me see—if you could cripple my senior brother with a single move, what exactly are you capable of?”

Every word Tyler uttered was charged with boundless fighting spirit. The floor beside him was already cracked by the surging force from his body, and even the elevator’s circuit board sparked wildly under his overwhelming presence.

The sudden surge of Tyler’s aura made Sam "Second Brother" Su’s legs go weak.

Evan Lin just shook his head slightly, casually pulling Sam aside. Without missing a beat, he stepped forward, about to walk out of the elevator.

The moment Evan Lin set foot outside the elevator, Tyler Tu’s eyes narrowed. His butterfly knife, already brimming with killing intent, shot out with several razor-sharp arcs, all aimed straight at Evan’s head.

Each blade arc was formed from externalized Inner Strength, its power and aura utterly overwhelming.

Behind the arcs gleamed Tyler’s butterfly knife, brimming with murderous intent.

In such a cramped space, Tyler was confident that his opponent wouldn’t even have time to react before being instantly struck down.

“Even if you’re a peak fifth-grade Vajra, you’d still need time and space to mobilize your strength. But I’m forcing you into a dead end right here—against me, you’re not even a real opponent. I won’t give you the slightest chance!”

Tyler Tu’s lips curled in a sneer. Dozens of knife-light arcs fused with his butterfly blade, ready to cut Evan Lin down on the spot.

Sam "Second Brother" Su’s heart nearly burst from fear; he was completely terrified.

Evan Lin’s face was perfectly calm, not even bothering to prepare a defense. His gaze was tranquil, utterly unperturbed.

That kind of look, when it landed in Tyler’s eyes, sent a wave of inexplicable panic through his heart.

In the next instant, Evan Lin took his first step out—half his body already outside the elevator.

From the backpack slung over his shoulder, the Three Maiden Spirits from the Soul-Sacrifice Beauty Scroll erupted out in a sudden burst.

They were formless, their faces twisted and vicious. Without a word, the Three Maiden Spirits lunged straight at Tyler Tu.

In that moment, the entire space was flooded with a chilling, oppressive yin aura.

Tyler’s eyes widened in shock. His butterfly knife, just half an inch from Evan Lin’s neck, froze in midair—locked in place by a supernatural force.

The Three Maiden Spirits closed in, mouths open wide. Without hesitation, they pounced and began tearing into him.

“Ahhh!”

Tyler Tu’s face twisted in agony, contorted with pain as he howled uncontrollably.

He felt his entire body’s surging inner force vanish in an instant, collapsing like a punctured balloon—gone without a trace.

Even worse, the blood that had fueled his fighting spirit was draining away at a terrifying speed!

“Your junior, Tyson Tu, I crippled with a single punch. But for you—even one move is too many.”

Evan Lin’s expression remained cold and indifferent. He spoke softly, took a second step, and walked straight out of the elevator, brushing past Tyler Tu without a glance.

Tyler Tu tried desperately to struggle and escape, but he had lost all strength. As he watched Evan’s face, first so close and then fading away, his eyes filled with despair.

Sam "Second Brother" Su watched in horror as Tyler Tu, once arrogant and wild, shriveled up before his eyes, as if someone had drained all his blood.

Sam froze, chills running down his spine. He didn’t dare hesitate and hurried to catch up with Evan.

Moments later, Tyler Tu was gone—completely devoured by the Three Maiden Spirits from the Soul-Sacrifice Beauty Scroll.

After countless baptisms, these three spirits now wielded strength equal to third-grade Vajra. Against a fourth-grade Vajra like Tyler Tu, it was child’s play.

Sam didn’t feel warmth again until he stepped out of the building and into the sunlight.

“Just now…”

Sam glanced at Evan, swallowed hard, and looked utterly lost.

That was a fourth-grade Vajra!

A fourth-grade Vajra like that would be top-tier even in the Jinnan Military District!

And he just died?

Sam had no idea what had even happened.

“He deserved it. I hate being followed, and I hate anyone disrupting my normal life. Maybe somewhere else, I’d have spared him.”

Evan’s voice was icy.

Anyone who could tail Sam all the way here might one day track down Lynn Chen, Lucy Lu, or Joy Zheng.

Even if the odds were tiny, Evan would crush that possibility at the root.

The moment Evan finished speaking, Sam broke out in a cold sweat, lowered his head anxiously, and said nothing.

“So where’s Butcher Tu? Since he came all this way, I’d like to see what this infamous palace-trained eunuch can really do.”

Hands in his pockets, Evan walked toward school, sounding utterly casual, as if the topic barely interested him.

"Butcher Tu stayed in Capitalview for nearly a month, just to find you, but got nowhere. I heard he finally rushed off to Oceanport City."

"Just a few days ago—he wanted to settle his old score with Master Mo Yang."

Sam hurried to explain.

“He left?” Evan paused, surprised.

Tyler Tu had called himself Butcher Tu’s disciple, so Evan figured the master must be close by too.

"Yeah, I waited here for days and never saw you. He spent all that time and still couldn’t figure out who you are, so after a while he left. But maybe, after fighting Master Mo Yang, he’ll come back." Sam nodded quickly.

“The Wu family never exposed me. That’s rare.” Evan shook his head, honestly surprised.

He’d appeared openly before the Wu family and crippled Tyson Tu in public. Evan had expected them to reveal his name and identity to Butcher Tu and the Guan clan, but apparently not a single Wu member had spoken up—they left the investigation to outsiders.

“Besides, a lot of the Guan clan’s people have already gone back to Oceanport City.”

Sam hesitated, looking at Evan. “Master Lin, you just killed another of Butcher Tu’s disciples. That makes your feud with him totally irreconcilable.”

“I trust your strength, but Butcher Tu’s techniques are seriously weird. Maybe you should take a break for a while? I can set you up somewhere nice—how about a vacation?”

“I’ll handle everything in Capitalview. I guarantee Butcher Tu won’t find you or bother your family. Once things cool down, you can come back.”

Sam spoke carefully—what he feared most was Evan going head-to-head with Butcher Tu.

If Evan lost…

Sam didn’t dare imagine the consequences!
