"What are you doing here?"

Evan Lin looked at Sam "Second Brother" Su in front of him, frowning slightly.

It was only six in the morning, but Sam had clearly been waiting outside for a while. His face was full of worry, and he looked rather unwell.

When Sam saw Evan, his tense expression finally relaxed a little.

When Evan stepped out, entered the elevator, and headed downstairs, Sam followed closely and said, "I've had people waiting here for you for days. Yesterday, someone told me you came back last night. I didn't want to disturb your rest, so I only came now."

"In the past month, did you offend anyone?"

Sam looked at Evan nervously, clear hesitation in his eyes.

"Just say it. There's no need to beat around the bush."

Right now, Sam looked just like a startled mouse, which Evan found rather baffling.

Logically, ever since Evan helped drive out the Lin family at the Su family birthday banquet, and then helped Sam's elder brother nurture five top fighters, plus the fact that his brother went to Capitalview, likely for a promotion, the Su family should be flourishing in both business and the military. Everything should be going their way.

As the nominal chairman of Su International, Sam could walk anywhere in Capitalview without fear, so his current timidity was completely out of character.

"Here's the thing: Half a month ago, the Guan family's infamous palace-trained bodyguard, Butcher Tu, came to Capitalview from Oceanport. He's staying with the Wu family. Rumor has it, he's here to kill someone with the surname Lin..."

"The reason is, one of Butcher Tu's disciples had his cultivation completely crippled by this person, which sent Butcher Tu into a rage."

"Butcher Tu was once a top imperial bodyguard. I've never seen him fight, but legend says he's only lost once in decades. His strength might even surpass the head of the Southriver Sword Sect!"

At this point, Sam glanced at Evan for confirmation, his voice trembling despite himself.

Butcher Tu from Oceanport, here to kill someone surnamed Lin.

When this news first came from the Wu family, Sam's older brother even tried to investigate, but never got any results.

Sam immediately thought of Evan Lin.

After all, in all of Capitalview, the only Lin who could provoke Butcher Tu was Evan.

As for the Lin family from South Capital, they wouldn't dare offend Butcher Tu, not even his disciples, no matter how bold they were.

Who exactly was Butcher Tu?

Even though he was a eunuch, he was a powerful one. If you talked about legends in South Capital and Oceanport, Mo Yang was one, and Butcher Tu was another.

Plus, Butcher Tu was always ruthless—never showed mercy. Anyone who lost to him was left crippled, which made his reputation even more sinister.

Later, when things calmed down, Butcher Tu was defeated by Mo Yang and forced to retreat to Oceanport. He disappeared for years, living with the Guan family, and gradually faded from public memory.

Sam was visibly nervous, his face full of anxiety.

Both Mo Yang and Butcher Tu were people you didn't want to mess with. Sam trusted Evan's strength, but if they were up against a rumored first-grade Vajra like Butcher Tu, his confidence was shaken.

"If the Butcher Tu you're talking about is the one from the Guan family in Oceanport, then the person he's after is me," Evan said casually, yawning.

As soon as Evan said this, Sam's face froze, his heart skipping a beat.

Ding.

Just then, the elevator reached the first floor. As the doors opened, before Sam could say anything and before either of them could step out, Sam suddenly sensed something and turned his head to look outside.

With one glance, Sam saw a teenager in a black leather jacket standing in front of the elevator. He looked about eighteen or nineteen, had a cigarette in his mouth, and was playing with a butterfly knife in his right hand.

The butterfly knife spun in his hand as if it had a life of its own.

"Who are you?!"

Sam sensed trouble and barked, "Do you know where you are? This is Capitalview! Playing with knives in public? That's a crime!"

The youth gave off a slightly feminine vibe—handsome, but a bit unsettling.

Sam stepped in front of Evan protectively, eyes full of caution.

But the teenager in front of the elevator didn't even glance at Sam. He looked straight past him at Evan and said playfully, "Tsk tsk, I heard my senior brother was crippled in one move that day?"

"He wasn't very skilled; after all these years, he only reached peak Inner Strength, still half a step from Pseudo-Vajra. Master sent him to Capitalview to use Old Master Wu as a stepping stone to the Vajra Realm, but instead, he got his cultivation wiped out in one go. His life is basically ruined now."

"I'm really curious how someone could win with just one move."

He fixed his gaze on Evan. With each word, his aura soared, and although he didn't move, cracks began to form in the floor beneath his feet.

You could tell just how powerful his footing was.

Sam, being closest, bore the brunt of the pressure. He felt a wave of force crashing over him, his face turning pale and his heart pounding wildly.

Evan, standing behind Sam, glanced at him calmly. "Was it the Wu family who told you my identity, or was it Selina Shi?"

"No one told me. Honestly, I have your friend here to thank—if I hadn't tailed him, I might not have found you. Even when the elevator doors opened, I wasn't sure you were the one I was looking for."

"But now, I'm sure." He grinned at Evan. "Master thinks your strength might've broken into fourth-grade Vajra and wants to finish you himself, but I think he's just been out of the game too long. For someone like you, there's no need to be so cautious."

"I'm guessing your real strength is peak fifth-grade Vajra."

As he spoke, the butterfly knife in his hand suddenly stopped, its blade flashing coldly, pointed straight at Evan.

"Peak fifth-grade Vajra?" Evan glanced at him. "To be a bit more precise, it's actually above the peak of fifth-grade Vajra."

"As long as you're in the fifth-grade Vajra bracket, that's good enough! I'm Tyler Tu, nineteen years old, and three days ago I broke through to fourth-grade Vajra! Master calls me a once-in-a-century genius. Today, I'm going to cripple you and avenge my senior brother! I'll show Master just how pointless his worries are!"

Tyler Tu laughed arrogantly, face full of pride. "I refuse to believe anyone in this world is stronger than me! And I'll make sure you learn who you should and shouldn't mess with!"

"Make your move!"
