Planning the Greenfield Medical Academy

Simon Yu shook his head. "The Lin Family doesn't accept women as apprentices. There are no female doctors here."

Martin Wu rolled her eyes, looking utterly unimpressed. "Wow, your Lin Family actually discriminates against women? If you're so capable, why didn't you check if the fetus had come out yourself just now? In the end, you still needed a woman like me to do it for you!"

Simon Yu was left speechless by Martin Wu's retort. He turned to Princess Jade Hayes and said, "Madam Penny is weak and sleeping right now, but she's out of danger. I'll prescribe her medicine and go prepare it."

"Thank you, Simon," Princess Jade Hayes replied.

Simon Yu went out to prepare the medicine, while Martin Wu, exhausted, plopped herself down on a chair.

Seeing how tired Martin Wu was, Belle took the initiative to clean up the bloodied items. Princess Jade Hayes sat beside Mrs. Penny, watching her with concern.

As a mother herself, Princess Jade Hayes understood that if Mrs. Penny woke up and learned she'd lost her child, she'd be heartbroken.

There was also another important matter—Princess Jade Hayes didn't believe for a second that Mrs. Penny had simply fallen and lost the baby. She was sure there was more to the story, and she would have to wait until Mrs. Penny woke up to get to the bottom of it.

Watching Princess Jade Hayes keep vigil by Mrs. Penny's side, Martin Wu stuck out her tongue and said, "Princess Jade, I really think it's inconvenient that only men can be doctors. Why can't women study medicine and become doctors? I think women are just as capable as men—if not more so!"

Martin Wu was a fiercely competitive girl. She had once disguised herself as a boy to apprentice under Professor Wu, outperformed all the men, and naturally had a proud spirit.

Whenever Martin Wu heard people say women were useless or naturally foolish, she would just snort in disdain.

Even now, Martin Wu kept that same attitude—women could be doctors too.

Martin Wu rolled up her sleeves, wiped the sweat from her forehead, and said, "Half the world is men, half is women. Women get sick too, and some illnesses aren't convenient for men to treat. Most women go through childbirth, which is even less suitable for male doctors. If we had female doctors, things would be different! Princess Jade Hayes, don't you think we should establish a medical academy—one that accepts both men and women—to train more female doctors?"

Martin Wu was just testing the waters, but Princess Jade Hayes agreed without hesitation. "I've wanted to set up a medical academy for ages, but I've been too busy. Now that you've brought it up, let's add it to the agenda. We'll admit both men and women—female doctors are absolutely necessary. So many women die in childbirth because there are no female doctors. If we had them, things would be different."

"Oh wow, that's wonderful!" Martin Wu was genuinely delighted, grinning broadly. "Once the medical academy opens, we'll definitely train a group of outstanding female doctors. Then Simon Yu, with all his arrogance, will see that women learning medicine can be just as good as him—if not better! Just wait until he sees the top female doctors I've trained. I can't wait to see his face when he realizes women can outshine him!"

"I was only gone for a moment, and you're already talking about me behind my back?" Simon Yu's voice floated over as he carried a bowl of medicine, shooting Martin Wu a look of mock disdain. "I knew it, you never say anything nice about me. Is my face swollen? Stop making things up!"

As Simon Yu spoke, Belle took the medicine bowl and gently helped Mrs. Penny Zhao drink it.

Martin Wu retorted, "Don't judge me by your own standards, Simon Yu. I wasn't badmouthing you—don't flatter yourself."
