Chapter 1057: Elemental Fire

Once the energy of the Alchemical Array flowed to this node, it began to operate according to the pattern set on the metal plate. It was as if a miniature Alchemical Array had been added here, making the massive array even more intricate and vast.

Moreover, if the modification succeeded, the metal plate made of Eternium would fuse into the entire mountain range, making it impossible to ever dig it out and sabotage the Alchemical Array again.

As this core section was altered, the earth began to tremble, and wisps of sinister black smoke started to seep out from the ground.

A surge of energy fluctuations also began to spread outward from beneath the earth.

Just as the final part of the Alchemical Array was modified, before any last changes could be made, the black smoke that had been slowly seeping out suddenly thickened.

Endless black smoke erupted from the ground like a volcanic explosion, and the howls of demons echoed from within the darkness.

The terrifying power of the Abyssal demons spread out like a tide, the black smoke swirling together to form countless pitch-black demonic heads, all roaring in fury at the coalition outside the gorge.

In just a few seconds, dozens of towering Lesser Demon Overlords appeared at the edge of the smoke, as if the darkness itself had condensed into these monstrous commanders.

In an instant, sixty or seventy Lesser Demon Overlords emerged, the black smoke in midair continuously gathering around them, making their presence even more formidable.

By the time most of the black smoke had dissipated, more than a hundred Lesser Demon Overlords—each at least level thirty-five—had already appeared.

At the very front were the Purple-Eyed Demons and the Blade Demons, whose arms resembled massive blades. Their bodies were incredibly strong, able to withstand most spells through sheer physical might alone.

Behind them were the slightly smaller Horned Demons. Though these ranked low among the seventy-two demon races, it was mainly due to their relatively weak bodies. In the demon world, strength comes first—and that means having a powerful physique.

Their bodies couldn’t compare to the Purple-Eyed Demons and Blade Demons, but their spellcasting abilities were just as potent as those of demons with silver bloodlines. In the Abyss, these Horned Demons are called Shepherd Demons—one of them could command tens of thousands of abyssal creatures.

However, here there weren’t nearly enough abyssal creatures for them to command…

As these Lesser Demon Overlords charged out of the gorge, the black smoke behind them kept swirling and gathering—until three Demon Overlords, each over a hundred meters tall, emerged from its depths.

One Purple-Eyed Demon Overlord, one Unicorn Demon Overlord, and one Horned Demon Overlord.

Freshly summoned, the Purple-Eyed Demon and Unicorn Demon immediately led the hundred-plus Lesser Demon Overlords in a charge out of the gorge. The Horned Demon, meanwhile, hung back, eyes gleaming with cunning and cruelty as it began to forcibly control the rampaging, chaotic demon commanders.

A horde of demons burst out of the gorge, and in an instant, battle erupted.

Everyone’s faces grew grim. Not only had three Demon Overlords been summoned, but half the black smoke still hadn’t dispersed—there were even more terrifying presences taking shape within.

The coalition, joined by the Bloodfang Tribe’s elite, collided head-on with the swarm of Lesser Demon Overlords.

The Purple-Eyed Demons and Blade Demons, like rampaging beasts, swung their massive blades and claws, charging forward. Dozens of steel-bodied demons formed a line, enduring waves of spells and Battle Aura Slashes as they pressed relentlessly toward the defenders.

Behind them, a group of Horned Demons hunched over, abyssal magic billowing from their bodies like black smoke. In an instant, the sky filled with meteors trailing long tails of darkness, crashing down on the human and Bloodfang orc armies.

There were also fireballs billowing black smoke, expanding in midair and falling like a torrential rain.

In moments, the sky was crowded with meteors and fireballs, each seven or eight meters wide. From afar, it looked like a swarm of evil abyssal flames converging and crashing to earth.

On the human side, aside from Leon and Dida La, even Raphael had joined the battle.

A storm of fire, sand, darkness, lightning, frost, and wind surged upward—a chaotic spellstorm clashing against the demons’ rain of meteors and fire.

The Bloodfang Tribe’s cavalry charged, riding massive wolf mounts into the demon horde. Bloodfang Marks flared on their bodies, crimson Battle Aura flashing, and every warrior’s blade seemed to transform into a fang drenched in blood.

Those fangs carried a mysterious power—greater even than supernatural strength, and faintly tinged with divine and demonic energy.

Leon, waiting in midair for a chance to complete the final step of the Alchemical Array, watched the scene unfold with a hint of surprise.
