Immortals Have Immortal Ranks, Gods Have Godly Ranks

"They're human?" The little Dragon Steward clutched his head. "You actually took two humans as disciples?"

"What, am I not qualified to take humans as disciples?"

"You are! You are!" The little Dragon Steward stuck out his tongue. "Please, after you!"

Grandpa Gene led the two of them through the central plaza toward the backyard.

"Grandpa Gene, are there more humans or more demons among the Dragon Stewards of Drake Abyss?" Rina Chu asked.

"Here, there are neither humans nor demons," Grandpa Gene replied. "They're all immortals!"

"Immortals?"

"That's right! Whether it's spirit wood or spirit beasts, as long as they've cultivated enough to take human form, they can be called 'immortals.' It's just that some of them go down below to cause trouble, eat people, and harm others, so they're called demons!" Grace said.

"Got it! So the difference between a demon and an immortal isn't about cultivation, but about morality," Rina Chu said.

"Haha, exactly! As for the Dragon Stewards here, in terms of race, humans, beasts, and us woodfolk each make up about a third!"

"Oh..." Both of them nodded and asked, "If each makes up a third, that's only nine-tenths. What's the remaining tenth?"

"There are also some spirit immortals born naturally from heaven and earth," Grandpa Gene said.

"Oh? What kind of immortals are those?"

"For example, stone immortals that grow from divine stones, or artifact immortals born from spiritual artifacts, and so on!"

"I see! There really are a lot of immortals in Drake Abyss. So, the cultivation levels among the different Dragon Stewards must vary, right?"

"Of course!" Grandpa Gene said. "Those who come to the Divine Realm as Dragon Stewards are all Demigods or High Saints. Demigod is also called the Spirit Lord realm, and High Saint is called the High Saint realm. Each has upper, middle, and lower tiers, so there's a big difference in cultivation!"

"So what's your cultivation level?" Rina Chu asked.

"Do you really need to ask?" Grace said. "Didn't you hear everyone call Grandpa Gene 'Golden Thread Immortal'? He must be at the upper tier of the High Saint realm!"

Besides, all the Dragon Stewards here respect him, which shows his cultivation isn't low.

"Haha!" Grandpa Gene laughed. "That's right! Qingluan guessed correctly!"

Rina Chu looked at him with admiration in her eyes. "Wow! You must be really powerful!"

But Grandpa Gene shook his head. "Powerful? Us? If we spend our whole lives cultivating and reach Immortal status, that's the best we can do! The truly powerful ones are the Divine Clan! From birth, they're at a level we can never hope to reach."

Rina Chu pursed her lips in frustration. "So being born into the right family really is everything."

Grandpa Gene sighed. "Exactly!"

"So, among the Divine Clan in Drake Abyss, who's the most powerful?" Rina Chu asked.

"Of course, it's His Majesty the Celestial Emperor!" Grandpa Gene replied. "Next is our Crown Prince!"

Rina Chu glanced at Grace, her expression suddenly a bit sly. "The Crown Prince?"

"That's right! The Crown Prince is only a thousand years old, but he's already achieved the rank of Divine Lord!" Grandpa Gene exclaimed.

"A... thousand... years old? And still 'only'?" Qingluan blurted out.

So he really is a thousand years old? She used to think Evan Xiao was just joking...

"His Majesty the Celestial Emperor only became a Divine Lord at five thousand years old!" Grandpa Gene said. "Our Crown Prince became a Divine Lord at one thousand—he's truly a prodigy!"

"Grandpa Gene, what does it mean to achieve Divine Lord status?" Rina Chu asked, puzzled.

"Immortals have immortal ranks, and gods have god ranks," Grandpa Gene explained. "God ranks include demigod, god, high god, Divine Lord, and Celestial Emperor. The Crown Prince is called 'Crown Prince' because he's passed the heavenly trial and reached Divine Lord status!"
