Molly Yun steadied herself and whispered quickly to Cecilia Gu, "They're dancing around us—this must be some kind of ritual! I'll hold them off, you run! Don't look back, okay? Just keep running forward!"
"No way!" Cecilia Gu instantly grabbed Molly Yun's hand in return. "Sis, do you know how crazy everyone got after you disappeared? I came here to find you, and now... Whatever happens, I'm not leaving you alone! If we go, we go together. If we stay, we stay together!"
"You stubborn girl, why won't you listen?" Molly Yun blurted out. "This sacrificial rite is obviously off—if we both stay, it's actually more dangerous! They captured the two of us on purpose; it's clear they need both! If you escape, I'll be safe too! Go, now!"
Molly Yun grabbed Cecilia Gu and shoved her hard toward the outside, then turned around and blocked the people fiercely.
But Cecilia Gu only managed to take a couple steps before the crowd blocked her way!
They only stopped them, without doing anything excessive—in fact, their eyes even showed a trace of awe.
Molly Yun and Cecilia Gu were blocked in place, unable to move.
