Rona Muir's Fury

1/4/2026

Sylvia Ran looked at Rona Muir with innocent eyes. "So you really don’t need to worry. Other than me, you’re already the most important person in Sean Kerr’s heart. I don’t mind if he’s with you, either. He used to say that before he decided on what kind of woman to marry, he’d always let me see her first, and only confess after I gave my approval. Even though you and Cecilia Gu are good friends, I still don’t mind you being with Sean Kerr."

Rona Muir was so angry she laughed.

You don't mind?

I do!

Cecilia Gu’s face was also ashen.

Sylvia Ran was simply too much!

Her words sounded innocent, but every single sentence was a blow to Rona Muir.

Cecilia Gu almost couldn’t hold back from rushing over, but Sophie Mo quickly grabbed her hand and whispered, "Rona Muir isn’t the kind of woman you can bully easily. If she were, how could she have secured the position of Vice President at Odyssey Corporation?"

Sure enough, Rona Muir suddenly laughed, folded her arms, and looked at Sylvia Ran with undisguised sarcasm in her eyes. "Miss Ran, aren’t you overthinking this?"

Sylvia Ran was stunned, her big watery eyes staring at Rona Muir.

Unfortunately, the more she wore that expression, the more Rona Muir found her annoying.

"Who told you that Sean Kerr and I are romantically involved? Was it Sean?" Rona reached out, slowly stroking Sylvia Ran’s hair as she said, "Miss Ran, smart girls are likable, but women who think they're clever are just irritating! I have zero interest in anything between you and Sean. During the six years you were missing, did Sean ever tell you how close we became? If I wanted Sean, do you think, with my qualifications, I couldn’t get a man like him?"

Sylvia Ran stared at Rona Muir in shock.

"But what you like isn’t necessarily what I’m interested in! Whether you love Charles Yin or you and Sean Kerr are childhood sweethearts, none of it has anything to do with me. I stay by Sean’s side because being Vice President at Odyssey Corporation pays two million a year, plus tens of millions in bonuses. It’s that simple." Rona’s smirk grew sharper. "Who Sean loves is his business. I don’t care, and I won’t bother. When he gets married, as his deputy, of course I’ll celebrate! If you find out who Sean likes, just let me know in advance so I can prepare a red envelope!"

"You..." Sylvia hadn’t expected Rona to be so indifferent about Sean, and her face flashed a look of deep regret, as if Rona not loving Sean was some terrible crime.

Tsk, tsk, this woman really is a bundle of contradictions!

She flaunted her close relationship with Sean Kerr, yet felt heartbroken when Rona Muir showed no interest in Sean.

"But there’s one thing I need to clear up." Rona spoke to Sylvia, enunciating each word: "You think I don’t like you because of Cecilia Gu? No, no, you’re flattering yourself! In my eyes, you’re not even worth that much. I might dislike Charles Yin because of Cecilia, but my dislike for you is all my own. I just really can’t stand you!"

When Rona said this, not only was Sylvia Ran stunned, even Cecilia Gu was shocked.

It was the first time Rona Muir had ever so openly declared her dislike for someone.

Looks like Rona Muir was truly angry this time.

"Rona! How could you say something like that to Sylvia?" Sean Kerr’s voice suddenly rang out from behind.

Rona lifted her head and saw Sean Kerr and Charles Yin walking over together.

"Sean, I’m sorry!" Sylvia turned and saw Sean and Charles, but she didn’t run to either of them. Instead, she just stood there and started sobbing, "I’m sorry, I messed everything up again! I just wanted to explain things to Vice President Muir, but I don’t know why she said such hurtful things. Sean, please don’t blame her, okay? It’s all my fault, I shouldn’t have acted on my own!"

Rona Muir just laughed.

Charles Yin’s gaze landed on Sylvia Ran, utterly emotionless.

Sean Kerr was different—his eyes were full of pain and helplessness.

Rona Muir saw the pain and helplessness in Sean’s eyes.

To hell with your pain and helplessness!

"Sorry, guess I don’t know my place." Rona’s voice was so cold it could freeze, "President Kerr, I accidentally made your beloved confidante and childhood sweetheart cry. If you want to punish me, go ahead."

"Rona! Since you know you were wrong, shouldn’t you apologize?" Sean couldn’t help but say, deliberately ignoring how distant Rona’s tone was.

Apologize? Ha!

Rona suddenly took a step back and said, "I’ve been busy with the Odyssey-Mo Consortium project these days, and now I’m feeling a bit unwell. President Kerr, I’d like to request an extended leave to rest. If you don’t approve, I’ll prepare my resignation and submit it to headquarters tonight."

Rona’s words shocked everyone present.

Cecilia Gu clenched her fists, eyes fixed on Charles Yin.

If Charles’s gaze toward Sylvia Ran showed even a hint of tenderness, then she...

would have given her heart to the wrong person again!

Charles Yin, don’t let me down...

Charles’s eyes flickered, but showed nothing.

Sean Kerr, standing nearby, suddenly looked shocked. "What did you say?"

Rona Muir stood firm, repeating herself, "President Kerr, I want a long leave. If you won’t approve it, I’ll resign!"

Charles Yin glanced sideways at Sean, watching the shifting color on his face, and sighed inwardly.

His good brother was still being kept in the dark by Sylvia Ran.

Sean, oh Sean, every time you help Sylvia Ran, do you realize you’re only pushing yourself farther from Rona Muir?

Thankfully, I woke up just in time to cherish the person right in front of me.

If you keep refusing to see the truth, I’m afraid...

Sean Kerr stared at Rona Muir for a long time before finally speaking softly, "Alright, you’re tired. Take a good rest. I..."

Before Sean could finish, Sylvia Ran interrupted with another wail, "Sean, I’m sorry! You absolutely cannot let Vice President Muir resign. Otherwise, I’ll feel so guilty!"

Sylvia turned to Rona, "Vice President Muir, you can’t quit. Odyssey Corporation can’t do without you. I don’t have time to stay by Sean’s side now, so I’m begging you to look after him for me, okay?"

Rona Muir’s temper shot straight to the top: "If you care so much about Sean, then marry him!"

Sean’s expression seemed to reach its breaking point. "Rona Muir, what nonsense are you talking about!"

Sylvia’s ears turned red and she looked bashful, but still said, "Rona—uh, Vice President Muir, how could you say that? You know the person I love most is Charles Yin. I’d never marry anyone else!"

Rona was completely fed up with their antics and left without another word.

After watching the drama unfold, Sophie Mo sighed lightly, "What a performance! She’s a master at stirring up trouble. Miss Gu, you..."

Sophie’s words trailed off as she followed Cecilia’s gaze.

They saw Sylvia Ran walk up to Charles Yin and say, "Charles, I was wrong last night. I shouldn’t have stripped naked in front of you to seduce you. But I just couldn’t help myself!"

Charles Yin stood there, unmoving.

Sean Kerr frowned, "Charles, whatever you say, Sylvia only did that to save your relationship. She’s a good girl, and for her to do something like that, she must have been desperate. Can’t you forgive her just this once?"

Cecilia Gu’s face turned pale at those words.

Last night, Sylvia Ran stripped naked in front of Charles Yin?

When did that happen?

Oh, right. Charles got a phone call and left quickly.

Could it be that the call was actually from Sylvia...?

Cecilia suddenly didn’t dare think any further.

Sophie Mo had wanted to say something, but thought better of it and decided not to get involved.

Their relationships were always so strange.

It’s better if they break up—then my brother will have a better chance.

So Sophie stayed silent too.

Whenever Cecilia Gu started overthinking, she’d get stuck in her own head.

She remembered Charles Yin had been gone for over half an hour.

Half an hour... half an hour...

Did he go to see Sylvia Ran?

Sylvia stripped naked in front of him...

Cecilia’s mind instantly conjured a terrifying image.

Meanwhile, Charles Yin said nothing, and Sylvia Ran kept crying, "Charles, I really admit I was wrong! Please don’t make me leave, okay? Auntie will be back in a couple of days, and if I’m not here, she’ll be angry again! Charles, I promise I’ll never do anything out of line again. I really know I was wrong!"

Watching Sylvia apologize and Sean constantly speaking up for her, Charles’s expression finally softened a little.

Charles thought to himself, nothing actually happened last night. Plus, his mother had called and insisted Sylvia pick her up from the airport. If Sylvia wasn’t around, his mother would definitely be angry again.

Fine, he’d let her stay for now.

Charles’s tone softened, "It’s good you know you were wrong. Don’t do anything so foolish again! Once my mom’s back, I’ll count on you to look after her."

"Thank you, Charles! I knew you couldn’t bear to kick me out! Boo hoo, I promise I’ll never do anything to upset you again! I’ll be good!" Sylvia immediately ran over and hugged Charles’s waist.

Charles’s body stiffened, but he didn’t push Sylvia away.

To Cecilia, that scene meant something entirely different.

A woman who seduced Charles Yin had just been forgiven...

And Charles didn’t push Sylvia away...
