Searching for the Entrance

Evan Chu understood the exact location after hearing this. Once there, he could naturally find it with his divine sense. He said to Serena Dream and the Freewind Palace Lord, "I'll go ahead. You two follow after!"

With that, he picked up Ethan Fenn from the ground and walked out of the secret chamber. Once in the open, he instantly activated his teleportation technique and vanished before their eyes.

"Such speed! Evan Chu truly is a genius. I've never seen anything like this before!" exclaimed the Freewind Palace Lord.

"Evan's speed really is terrifying. If he went all out, it would take at most an hour to travel from Freewind Palace to Frostbane Sect. I know from experience—it's just like stepping through a teleportation portal, truly unbelievable," said Serena Dream.

"Serena, I'll go ahead first. Delegate the sect's affairs and then hurry over. Don't let anyone else know about this—remember!" said the Freewind Palace Lord, then disappeared in a flash.

At this moment, Evan Chu kept teleporting without pause. Now that his cultivation had reached the peak of the Ninth Layer Divine Martial Realm, his teleportation distance had greatly increased—each jump covered several hundred li.

Ethan Fenn, carried on Evan Chu’s back, slowly regained consciousness. Though pain wracked his body, he could still speak.

Seeing himself on Evan Chu’s back, Ethan Fenn immediately struggled, but Evan said, "If you really want to die, go ahead and move. Do you think I want to save you? If it weren’t for your mother, I wouldn’t bother."

Ethan Fenn found Evan Chu’s words odd. "My mother? You know my mother? Evan, I’ve been an orphan since childhood—my master raised me. Are you seriously claiming I have a mother? Isn’t that ridiculous?"

"What good would it do me to lie to you? Once the gu poison is cured, ask your mother yourself. For now, don’t move—you have three days left to live. If you don’t want regrets, just do as I say." Evan Chu said, then teleported several hundred li away in an instant.

At this moment, Ethan Fenn was more shocked than anyone. While talking to Evan Chu, he glanced down and saw Gourdvale, a town under Freewind Palace’s jurisdiction. Now, just seconds later, they were above Hillcrest Town, over five hundred li away. Such speed felt utterly unreal.

Only now did he realize the gap between himself and Evan Chu was insurmountable. No matter how hard he tried, he might never catch up.

"Even if you save me, I’ll never thank you. You stole Serena Dream from me—I only hate you, and it’s a hate that cuts to the bone!" Ethan Fenn said.

"How much is your gratitude worth? You’d better save your breath—the pain you’re about to feel will be unbearable. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. Your child-gu is already dead. If I hadn’t infused you with wood element, you’d be a cold corpse by now," Evan Chu replied.

"I’m not afraid of death—why would I fear pain? You really underestimate me, Evan. If I survive, I’ll fight you again one day. I’ll show everyone in Azure Tide Ruins that I, Ethan Fenn, am not just a name!" Ethan said, though his face grew even paler.

Evan Chu kept teleporting northward. The air grew colder, snowflakes drifted down, and he knew he was getting close to his destination.

After a few more teleports, Evan Chu stopped in midair. While teleportation didn’t consume much Chaos Dragon Force normally, carrying someone made a difference—he realized he’d already burned through a third of his reserves.

Now the surroundings were a vast world of white, just like the northern fog-forest peaks near Heavenly Dragon Academy—snow everywhere, nothing but a world of snow.

Evan Chu scanned the surrounding peaks, searching for the mountain the Freewind Palace Lord had described. But after a long search, he found nothing. "It must not be here. Let’s go further in and look!"

This time, Evan Chu didn’t dare teleport again. He flew slowly through the air, scanning everywhere. After about half an hour, he finally stopped.

Now the winds had become astral gales, and the temperature was extremely low. But Evan Chu finally saw the mountain described by the Freewind Palace Lord—halfway up, there was no snow.

He teleported straight over, landed at the mountain’s base, and began searching for the cave with his divine sense. The snow here flew even harder, quickly covering their heads in white, but after a long search, Evan found nothing.

"Luna, your soul sense is stronger than mine—help me look!" Evan Chu called to his sword spirit.

After a moment, Luna said, "Follow this valley forward for about ten li. You’ll see several huge boulders—smash one, and the cave entrance will appear. You missed it because the entrance was blocked by fallen rocks."

Evan Chu didn’t move immediately. Instead, he used Watershift to turn the snow on the ground into ice-arrow markers to point the way.

Step by step, he kept marking the direction. By the time he reached the boulders Luna mentioned, he’d made at least ten arrow markers.

These so-called stones were actually blocks of ice, but a grade only slightly inferior to Mystic Ice.

Evan Chu set Ethan Fenn down—Ethan was shivering from the cold. "You brought me to this hellhole just to cure my gu poison?" he asked.

"That’s right. Did you think I was here for sightseeing? Not even a bird or beast survives here—the cold is the only thing that can freeze your blood so I can remove the child-gu. Freezing your blood stops the poison from spreading. You’ll have to endure the pain, but I believe you can do it!" Evan Chu said.

"Why should I trust you?" Ethan Fenn suddenly asked.

"Because you’ll trust your mother. If I’m right, she’ll arrive in two days—ask her yourself. Of course, if you die before then, don’t blame me for not warning you!" Evan Chu said.

Ignoring Ethan Fenn’s stunned expression, Evan Chu drew the Frostbane Sword and slowly circulated Chaos Dragon Force. Then, with a sudden Tyrant Cleave, he slashed at a house-sized ice boulder.

With a loud bang, Evan Chu thought he’d split the boulder, but realized he’d only chipped off a tiny corner—like an ant biting an elephant.
