"Your Majesty! She's Lily Bai! She's a Heaven-Bestowed Demon Slayer!" Mirage pointed at Lily Bai, urgently identifying her to the Demon Emperor.

"I know she's Lily Bai," Damian Black replied coolly.

"You know?" Mirage shot Lily Bai a surprised look. "Then why are you protecting her?"

"Right now... she's a friend, not an enemy," Damian Black said.

"Her? A friend? No way!" Mirage cried. "She's slaughtered our kind by the dozens! She even killed Giant Spirit!"

Giant Spirit Beast was Mirage's loyal subordinate.

"Let's just go inside," Damian Black said, waving his hand and scooping both Lily Bai and Mirage onto Azure Flame's back.

Azure Flame spread her wings and soared into the black mist of the Tribulation Thunder Array.

"Your Majesty!" Mirage cried, panicked. "How can you bring her into the array?"

Damian Black said, "She saved Azure Flame by pulling out the Moonbound Ice Curse."

"Wait, did she defect to our side?"

"Hey, hey, hey! Don't get it twisted!" Lily Bai hurried to clarify. "I'm only here to hunt the Five-Element Earth-Soul Beast. Once I get it, I'm out of here!"

"Five-Element Earth-Soul Beast?" Mirage frowned. "Your Majesty, don't you have a pact with the ancient great demons of the Primeval Demon Wilds—no interfering? You can't break the rules!"

Inside the Primeval Demon Wilds, there are ancient great demons who've cultivated for hundreds of thousands of years.

They usually keep to themselves—neither gods nor demons can control them.

Damian Black carved out his own territory in the Wilds and subdued plenty of demon beasts.

But the truly ancient great demons? They don't answer to him.

He made a deal with those ancient great demons: mutual non-interference.

The Five-Element Earth-Soul Beast isn't one of the super great demons, but it's still cultivated for tens of thousands of years.

It's also bound by the non-aggression pact with Damian Black.

The Demon Emperor said, "Lily Bai will take it herself."

Lily Bai nodded again and again: "Yes, yes! I'll handle it myself! No need for Your Majesty's help!"

"Ha! You?" Mirage scoffed. "Do you even know what level the Five-Element Earth-Soul Beast is? Where does all that confidence come from?"

Lily Bai shot back, "Not your problem!"

"Who's worrying about you?!" Mirage retorted, then scooted over to sit right next to Damian Black.
