Really Fell Into My Hands

12/19/2025

Echo Young stood up excitedly and declared loudly, "Brother Joe, I, Echo Young, do not know what fear is. As for The Unfalsifiable, I was merely cautious before, nothing more. Now that I’m following you to learn martial arts, his enemy is my enemy too."

"It’s not that serious, sit down first." Joe Di gestured for Echo Young to sit before continuing, "One of the people captured by The Unfalsifiable’s men is my friend. I have to rescue her. Do you know where they went?"

Echo Young shook his head, but quickly added, "I also heard they’re planning to kill Vincent Di of Di Pharmaceuticals... Brother Joe, aren’t you from Di Pharmaceuticals...?"

Joe Di waved his hand, "I may have had some connections with Di Pharmaceuticals before, but now I have nothing to do with them. Since we know where they’re going, things will be easier..."

"Brother Joe, are you planning to lie in wait outside Di Pharmaceuticals?" Echo Young asked uncertainly.

Joe Di nodded, "That’s right, I’m going there to lie in wait."

"Brother Joe, if you trust me, let’s go to my place first. I can find out where that car went," Echo Young said confidently.

Joe Di recalled how Echo Young could alter the surveillance footage before, and immediately understood Echo Young’s intention to hack the local monitoring system. He agreed without hesitation and went to Echo Young’s home with him.

.....

Echo Young’s place wasn’t small—a house of two hundred square meters, and still within the Fifth Ring.

As soon as they got home, Echo Young turned on his computer.

Watching Echo Young’s hands fly across the keyboard, Joe Di was amazed by his computer skills—the sheer speed and precision were terrifying.

In less than ten minutes, Echo Young had already accessed the first surveillance storage device. He explained, "This is the surveillance system near Yan Arcade. I’m very familiar with the cameras in this area... Wait, I found it—this is the one!"

Echo Young quickly pulled up a surveillance video. With a flick of his mouse, Joe Di saw the car appear on the screen.

After that, things became straightforward. Echo Young sifted through one surveillance video after another. An hour later, the image on his monitor froze.

"Brother Joe, I found it—this is the place! I never imagined this would be The Unfalsifiable’s hideout," Echo Young exclaimed, staring at the screen in surprise.

After watching for a moment, Joe Di understood why Echo Young hadn’t guessed it before—the place was an old folks’ home.

"Hiding in a nursing home doesn’t guarantee safety. Echo Young, I’m heading over now. You drive and lead the way." Joe Di didn’t want anything to happen to Sylvia Su; truth be told, she was only in danger because of him.

"Alright." Echo Young shut down his laptop, packed it away, and slung the bag over his shoulder.

......

After another half hour, Echo Young and Joe Di arrived outside the nursing home.

"Brother Joe, I’ve rerouted all the surveillance cameras along this path," Echo Young said, drawing a line on his tablet.

"No, you stay here. I’ll go up alone. If anything happens, it’s good to have someone watching out for me." Joe Di stopped Echo Young from following him.

......

Sylvia Su looked at the two men before her in utter despair. At this moment, both she and her aunt Susan Su had their hands tied behind their backs and their mouths gagged.

She was beginning to regret coming to Beijing. If she hadn’t, at least her aunt wouldn’t be in trouble.

"Ryan Ruan, we’ll wait here one more night at most. If Zane Bi hasn’t sent word by then, we need to move the hostages," said the bearded man on the left, his expression tense.

The man called Ryan Ruan was the sharp-faced, pale-skinned fellow on the right. He chuckled, "Gavin, what’s there to worry about? Lydia Lu is handling this herself—I don’t believe that Joe Di has superhuman powers. Zane Bi just got lucky and was taken in as a disciple by Master Jia. Useless people are always useless; it’s up to us to do the real work."

As Ryan Ruan spoke, his eyes fell on Sylvia Su’s face. He swallowed and said, "Seriously, this little beauty is stunning. Her skin is just..."

"Master Jia wants her brought back for punishment. You’re not allowed to touch her," Gavin Guo said coolly.

"Bah! I’ve been stuck in this lousy place for a whole day. If that Joe Di dares to run into me..." Ryan Ruan’s gaze shifted to Susan Su, Sylvia’s aunt. He licked his lips and said, "She may be a bit old, but it’s better than waiting around doing nothing."

Before Ryan Ruan could pounce on Susan Su, Joe Di’s voice rang out just in time: "Looks like I really did run into you..."

Almost the moment Joe Di crashed through the window, Gavin Guo whipped out the pistol from his waist—his reaction was lightning fast.

But his gun was barely out, and he hadn’t even released the safety when a flash of white pierced his brow. Joe Di stepped up to him, tapping several times at the spot between his eyebrows.

As the dagger was pulled out, surprisingly little blood oozed from Gavin Guo’s brow.

Joe Di’s movements were seamless. Besides Gavin Guo, only Ryan Ruan had time to react; even then, he was still in shock.

It wasn’t until Gavin Guo collapsed to the ground and Joe Di sat down in his seat, playing with the dagger, that Ryan Ruan finally snapped out of it. Instinctively, he reached for a weapon at his waist.

"You’d best not move. You should know, I killed seven of Zane Bi’s men before. With the one I just took out, that’s eight. If you make a move, I’ll just make it nine." Joe Di said nonchalantly.

Ryan Ruan may have bragged about not wanting Joe Di to run into him, but now that Joe Di was here, he was more afraid than anyone. He wasn’t even a match for Gavin Guo, who was instantly killed before he could fire his gun. If Ryan tried anything, he’d likely be next. Now, he was only thinking about how to convince Joe Di to spare his life.

The moment Sylvia Su saw Joe Di, joy flashed in her eyes. She even ignored the fact that Joe Di had just killed Gavin Guo right in front of her.

After frightening Ryan Ruan, Joe Di walked over and untied Sylvia Su and Susan Su. "Sylvia, I’m truly sorry. I suspect you got caught up in this because of me..."

"Thank you, Brother Di. It was my fault for choosing the wrong place for my birthday party. That’s why I lost my parents. It has nothing to do with you." Sylvia’s eyes reddened.

"Thank you for saving Sylvia twice. I’m her aunt, Susan Su," Susan Su said gratefully.

She knew very well that if Joe Di hadn’t come, what awaited her and Sylvia would have been far worse than mere humiliation.

"What are your plans now..." As Joe Di spoke, he stepped back and swept his leg out.

Ryan Ruan, who had just stepped back, was kicked by Joe Di and sent flying, landing beside the TV cabinet.

......

"As long as I can get Sylvia into Yanda Martial Arts Academy, we’ll be safe," Susan Su said immediately. She understood what Joe Di meant. With Quentin Jia’s influence, even if they were rescued today, they could still be in danger later.

"Alright, you should leave now. I’ll take care of things here," Joe Di said, wasting no words.

With Echo Young controlling the cameras outside, Susan Su and Sylvia Su could leave without being noticed. Plus, dawn was approaching—it was best to get away quickly.

"Alright." Susan Su clearly understood the gravity of the situation. Joe Di had killed Gavin Guo right in front of them, showing he was no ordinary man. She and Sylvia decided it was best to keep their distance from people like him.

"Brother Di, be careful. My aunt and I are leaving. I’ll devote myself to martial arts at Yanda, and if you ever need my help, just come find me there," Sylvia said sincerely.

On the night she lost both parents, Sylvia learned a lot. She didn’t overthink things like her aunt did—Joe Di had saved her, and she owed him a debt of gratitude.

"Alright. As for your kidnapping and everything that happened here, just act like you know nothing. Don’t tell anyone," Joe Di reminded them.

"We understand," Sylvia replied.

Even if Joe Di hadn’t said it, she already knew. She and her aunt had been abducted out of nowhere, and not a soul had been alerted. It was clear some things couldn’t be solved by simply telling others.
