Xiao Tiange sighed. He knew Evan Yang was a genius, someone he could never catch up to, so he quickly let it go. Still, he planned to go into closed-door cultivation and train hard.
As for Evan Yang, he was already on his way to the Purple Cloud Sect.
Brightspirit Star, a third-class planet, is also one of the worlds in the Ninefold Star System.
Following the map's markers, Evan Yang used a star-level teleportation array to reach the nearest accessible planet, then transferred again, spending some spirit crystals along the way to get through.
He was also glad these planets were far enough from Moonpride Star, which didn’t manage this area for now. Evan Yang smoothly entered the territory of the third-class Brightspirit Star, and finally arrived at Heavenbright Star.
Heavenbright Star was a third-class planet and bustling with life. As soon as Evan Yang arrived, he noticed lots of powerful cultivators, so he kept a low profile and headed for the largest city near the star-level teleportation array.
Evan Yang didn’t know what this city was called, so he went straight to an inn to see if he could pick up any news about the Purple Cloud Sect.
But after listening around for a while, nobody mentioned Purple Cloud Sect. Evan Yang called over the inn attendant and asked, "Do you know where the Purple Cloud Sect is on Brightspirit Star?"
"Purple Cloud Sect? Senior, what are you looking for that place for?" the inn attendant asked suspiciously.
"I heard the scenery at Purple Cloud Sect is pretty nice, so I came to Brightspirit Star just to take a look," Evan Yang made up a random excuse.
The inn boy nodded earnestly, "Purple Cloud Sect is pretty far from here. You can use the city's teleportation array to reach Purplecloud City, and from there, you should be able to find out where Purple Cloud Sect is."
"Great, thanks. Here, this is for you." Evan Yang smiled after listening, then handed him a tip.
The inn boy gratefully accepted the crystal-source currency and went back to his work.
This little exchange was noticed by a burly man and a pale-faced woman nearby. The man looked fierce, with long hair tied back and an axe at his waist. The woman had snow-white skin but moved and spoke in an oddly fussy way, as if she was scared of dirtying herself.
"Looks like we've got a big fish," the man laughed in a voice transmission to the woman.
The woman glanced at Evan Yang's spot and replied through a voice transmission, "What could a beggar like that possibly have?"
"Are you dumb? These days, anyone with money plays it low-key. Show off and you’re just waiting to get robbed," the man disagreed.
"True. Everyone’s dirt poor on the surface, but secretly, they’re loaded," the woman chuckled.
"Let’s go over and buddy up with him, then figure out what he’s really got before we make a move," the man said with a grin.
The woman just smiled and stayed silent.
Evan Yang left the inn and headed for the teleportation array.
The man and woman followed, circling around to block Evan’s path, forcing him to stop.
"Hey, fellow cultivator, are you heading to Purple Cloud Sect too?" the man asked.
"Hm?" Evan gave them both a quick look and nodded. Then the woman spoke up, "We're siblings—I'm Lily, he's Hank. We're headed to Purple Cloud Sect too, but we're worried about running into bandits on the way. Mind if we travel together?"
"Bandits?" Evan blinked.
Hank and Lily thought Evan was easy to fool. On the surface, Evan didn’t react, but inside he was thinking, "These two are at least early Out-of-Body stage, not weak at all. Why would they want to travel with me? Still, if they know the way, it’ll save me some trouble."
He just smiled and said, "Sure, let’s go together."
Hank and Lily lit up and quickly introduced themselves. "I’m Hank Hunter. This is my sister, Lily Hunter."
Hearing their names, Evan nearly twitched, but he held back and asked, "You two know the way?"
"Of course. We go to Purple Cloud Sect every year. Today just happened to be the day, but our other friends were busy, so when we heard you were going, we figured we'd tag along," Hank said with a laugh. Lily’s pale face managed a stiff smile too.
