On the drive home, the atmosphere in the car was stifling.

Lucy Lu was driving. At the banquet, she’d only sipped her wine and hadn’t actually drunk any.

Charles Chen sat in the front passenger seat with his eyes closed, leaning against the headrest. The window was down, letting the cold wind blow on his head to clear out the lingering alcohol.

The aftereffects of those drinks were hitting him now, making Charles Chen feel uncomfortable. Even worse was his mood.

Evan Lin and Lynn Chen sat in the back. Lynn glanced at Evan, a little worried: "Hey, you drank so much—should we go to the hospital and get you an IV?"

Just now, Evan had downed several bottles of liquor—baijiu, no less. Normally, Lynn wouldn’t even spare him a glance, but tonight he’d taken the drinks for her father, and that made her care about him a bit more.

"I'm fine. Really," Evan replied.

"Evan, maybe you should go to the hospital and get an IV drip. You drank so much, and it was really strong stuff. What if it leaves some aftereffects?"

Lucy Lu, still driving, frowned. Sixty-two-degree baijiu—most people can barely handle three glasses. Evan had just drunk nearly four bottles, which was over six jin.
