It's just a pity that my son seems to have someone he likes.
And I'm afraid Chief Assistant Yu wouldn't be interested in my son, either.
I've always been proud of my son, but it really depends on who you're comparing him to. If it's Julia Yu, well, there's simply no comparison.
Just looking at Chief Assistant Yu's drive, perseverance, and the way she manages things—my son can't quite measure up.
Such a pity, really.
Both Mrs. Song and Julia Yu genuinely wanted to get to know each other, so their conversation was nothing but pleasant and lively.
When Julia Yu was about to leave, she did think about saying goodbye to Stephen Song, maybe letting him know she'd visited his home.
But then she realized, the two of them were just casual acquaintances, and it was Mrs. Song who'd invited her over.
After thinking it over, Julia Yu decided not to greet Stephen Song.
As for Mrs. Song, since she felt her son wasn't good enough for Julia Yu, she didn't tell him that she'd invited his crush over as a guest.
Another beautiful misunderstanding, really.
Julia Yu left the Song house, and hadn't even reached her own building when she got a call. The caller was someone she didn't expect at all.
It was Sean Young's mother calling.
Mrs. Young used her son's phone to call Julia Yu, so she had her number. "Chief Assistant Yu? I'm Sean Young's mother. May I talk to you for a moment?"
Julia Yu rarely socialized outside of work, but she envied people with loving parents and warm families—Sean Young was one of those lucky ones.
Sean Young might be a bit of a playboy and not much for work, but his family atmosphere was wonderful. His parents went from poverty to wealth without ever wavering, living happily together, and since Sean was their only child, they poured all their love into him.
The family vibe couldn't be better.
Otherwise, Julia Yu wouldn't have chosen him for a blind date with Lisa Li.
So Julia Yu was extra patient with Mrs. Young. "Is there something you wanted to talk about?"
"Lately, Sean's been working at the repair shop like a madman. I've never seen him work so hard. Chief Assistant Yu, you have no idea—Sean's never been one for studying. He was always dead last in his class, and nobody even tried to compete with him. Getting him through high school was a struggle—his dad and I practically begged him, and we spent a lot of money just to get that diploma. But these past few days, it's like he's possessed. He told me he wanted to open a shop to repair and modify cars, asked me for a few million to start, and then disappeared for days. Yesterday, I secretly followed him and saw for myself—I was heartbroken, Chief Assistant Yu, you wouldn't understand unless you're a mother. I watched my son skip meals and sleep, wearing the same clothes for three days, just working hard with everyone else." Mrs. Young was a talker; once Julia Yu asked, she went on and on.
"I was scared out of my wits, worried something would happen to him, so I tried to drag him home to rest. But he said he wouldn't come back unless he made something of himself. I asked him what was going on, and he said he'd promised you—he had to show you some results. Chief Assistant Yu, look, Sean listens to you now. Could you please help me talk to him? Tell him not to keep staying up late, he'll ruin his health."
Julia Yu: "Uh... this really has nothing to do with me, does it?"
"Chief Assistant Yu, you're close to the big boss and have seen a lot. Maybe you look down on people like us."
"No, not at all. I definitely don't think that way."
"Chief Assistant Yu, please, I'm begging you. My son is obsessed—he won't listen to anyone else, but he says he'll listen to you. If you have time, could you come with me? Oh, I have to go now, Sean's coming back. I used his phone to call you." Mrs. Young is actually pretty interesting in some ways.
Mrs. Young is actually quite calculating.
But in the face of real power, she knows when to back down.
Julia Yu sighed and said, "Alright, send me the location. I'll head over now."
"Okay, I'm waiting for you at the entrance to the underground garage at 78 xx Road." Mrs. Young hung up, satisfied.
Julia Yu turned her car around and headed for the destination.
Soon, Julia Yu saw Mrs. Young standing by the roadside, waving at her.
Julia Yu drove over, rolled down her window, and asked, "How did you get here? Want to hop in?"
"No need, no need, I'll just follow behind. I brought my driver." Mrs. Young replied cheerfully, then quickly got into a nearby black sedan.
Julia Yu smiled, followed Mrs. Young's car, and headed toward the underground garage.
This was a newly opened residential complex, a bit out of the way, quite far from downtown.
Because the price was low, Sean Young's family bought an entire building, so they also bought all the underground garage space.
The whole basement level had almost 500 parking spaces, and now there were plenty of cars parked there.
Some were there just to watch, some needed repairs, and some wanted modifications.
Julia Yu parked her car, got out, and walked toward the crowd.
As soon as people saw Julia Yu, they automatically stepped aside to make way for her.
That's what you call presence.
Even if you've never met someone or don't know who they are, as soon as you sense their presence, you just instinctively step aside.
Julia Yu saw Sean Young in a blue work uniform, lying on the ground with others, fixing a Land Rover.
Sean Young was chatting with someone, but when he noticed everyone had gone quiet, he instinctively looked up. When he saw Julia Yu, he froze, quickly got up from the ground, and stammered, "Y-you... why are you here?"
Julia Yu glanced around and said, "It's a pretty big place. How did you get the license for it?"
"No license, really. It's just a private car modification place," Sean Young said a little sheepishly. "Can't compare to you."

Mrs. Young came over then, grabbed Sean Young's hand, and started wiping her tears. "Son, you've lost weight!"
Sean Young awkwardly looked at Julia Yu, wondering why she came with his mom.
Julia Yu said, "Your mother was worried about you, so she asked me to come check on you."
Sean Young immediately complained to his mom, "Mom, didn't I tell you I'm fine? Why aren't you resting in the lounge, and why did you bring Chief Assistant Yu here?"
"It's all because you never listen!" Mrs. Young started nagging endlessly, so much that Julia Yu's brow began to twitch.
"Alright, alright, I'll go back, okay? I'll go rest now!" Sean Young was genuinely scared, hurriedly promised, "Mom, you go back first. Let me talk to Chief Assistant Yu for a bit, then I'll leave, okay?"
Only then did Mrs. Young leave, satisfied.
Julia Yu glanced around the place and asked, "So many garages—why are they all going to waste?"
Five hundred parking spots! That's a huge empty space!
"The houses here aren't worth much, just a few thousand per square meter. The subway hasn't been built yet, so prices are low for now. My dad made his fortune buying real estate, so he's kind of obsessed with it. He spent ten million and bought the whole building, including the basement. The apartments upstairs are all rented out, but the garage is just sitting empty," Sean Young explained. "So I figured, why not use it for something? I really meant it when I told you about opening a repair shop last time."
Julia Yu smiled, "Sounds good. But if you don't have a business license, be careful not to get caught."
"I'm not open to the public, just modifying race cars and black-market cars. Don't worry, I've got connections here, nothing will happen. Nobody knows what we're doing anyway—can't I fix cars in my own garage?" Sean Young said boldly.
Julia Yu could tell right away—Sean Young really had no idea about the law.
Looks like Mrs. Young was right—he never liked studying since he was a kid.
But Julia Yu wasn't one to get too personal, so she just nodded and didn't say anything else.
"Alright, my job here is done. Go home and get some rest. Take things one step at a time, don't rush." Julia Yu nodded and turned to leave.
"Julia Yu!" Sean Young called after her, "Can I still ask you out for a meal sometime?"
Julia Yu turned back and smiled, "Sure."
Sean Young instantly broke into a wide grin, waving enthusiastically at Julia Yu's retreating figure. "I'm going home to rest right now!"
Julia Yu waved as she walked away.
Watching Julia Yu leave, all of Sean Young's wild friends exploded. "Sean, Sean! Who was that? Damn, what a vibe! Whose goddess is she? Which family's heiress?"
Sean Young gave them a disdainful look and said, "What do you guys know? She's the uncrowned queen, not an heiress—better than any heiress. She's Julia Yu, Chief Special Assistant to the President of the Mo Consortium, and also a lawyer."
Everyone around instantly went silent.
They'd all seen how obsessed Sean Young was with Chief Assistant Yu lately—he was absolutely crazy about her.
Today, they finally met the real deal.
No wonder, no wonder.
Even though she's several years older than Sean Young, she's so well-kept she looks just like a young girl.
"Sienna's really going to cry this time," someone said. "She always prided herself on being young, but Julia Yu totally outshines her."
"Don't say that! Sienna's great too, right Sean?"
Sean Young's expression grew unreadable. He said calmly, "Alright, is this really your concern? I'm going home to rest. You guys keep watch here. Oh, and don't spread the word about Chief Assistant Yu coming here."
"Got it, Sean, don't worry! We definitely won't tell anyone!" The others teased, "Your goddess told you to go home and rest, and you're still wasting time here. Aren't you afraid she'll get mad?"
Sean Young laughed happily.
