Evan Yang sent a sound transmission to Richard, "Be careful, we might run into demons here."
Richard understood what Evan meant. He still remembered that before they came, Evan had said that besides the Demon Emperor appearing here, there was already a powerful demon in this place—it's this powerful demon that made it a forbidden zone.
Although the demon in front of them hadn't said much, Evan had already guessed a few things from his actions.
Evan and Richard followed the Demon Emperor. The Demon Emperor walked carefully, acting casual at times, clearly afraid Evan and Richard might notice something.
After a short while, they arrived at a cave. The Demon Emperor smiled at Evan and said, "Go inside—you'll be surprised."
"Oh? Inside?" Evan smiled.
"Mm." The Demon Emperor nodded.
Evan and Richard exchanged a glance and slowly walked in. Inside, it looked just as refined as outside, but even more luxurious and ornate.
The Demon Emperor sneered behind them, "Take a good look." Then he shoved them forward with a powerful force, pushing Evan and Richard inside.
Evan and Richard were prepared, quickly dodging aside, but the cave entrance was so small that the Demon Emperor had already blocked it with a stone from somewhere.
Evan and Richard exchanged a glance, just about to move the stone when a much stronger aura appeared behind them.
When Evan and Richard turned around, they saw a fish-headed, human-bodied figure staring at them with two huge eyes.
"You dare disturb my peace? I’ll kill you both!" the fish-headed demon roared in anger.
Evan realized this was most likely the forbidden zone’s demon. With their strength, defeating it was impossible. He quickly said, "Senior, this is a misunderstanding."
"A misunderstanding? Don’t make excuses!" the fish-headed demon snapped.
"It really is a misunderstanding. We were pushed in by another demon," Evan explained.
"Pushed in? Do you take me for a fool? Looks like I’ll have to teach you a lesson—you think I’m easy to trick!" The fish-headed demon snorted, and its whiskers started to twitch. Suddenly, an electric current shot from its whiskers, forcing its way toward Evan and Richard.
Seeing this, Evan quickly channeled the electric current through his body, but Richard had no such ability and was knocked out on the spot. Evan, however, was unharmed.
Noticing the situation, Evan quickly stored Richard in his Space Ring.
"A Space Ring, huh? Hmph. But you actually came out unscathed—that’s unexpected," the fish-headed demon said, looking at Evan in surprise.
Evan knew that as long as there was still a chance, he couldn’t give up. He respectfully said, "Senior, we really were pushed in by someone else."
"Kid, you’re still saying that? Don’t think just because you dodged me once, you can keep dodging. I want to see how capable you really are." The fish-headed demon snorted, then sent an even stronger electric current at Evan.
Evan spread his hands and absorbed all the electric currents directly.
The fish-headed demon was stunned. He didn’t believe it and kept increasing the current, but Evan absorbed it all—even at full power, Evan was fine. The demon was shocked, realizing that his invincibility relied entirely on this electric current.
"Senior," Evan called again.
"Fine, I’ll let you go. Leave," the fish-headed demon suddenly changed his tone and said.
Seeing this, Evan smiled. "Thanks, then." He turned to leave—wanting to get out before the fish-headed demon changed his mind. He punched the stone, shattered it, and walked out.
As Evan left, the fish-headed demon muttered, "That was close. Good thing he didn’t test my strength. Now, I can only rely on my electric array to appear strong."
If Evan had heard what the fish-headed demon said, he would’ve been shocked. No one would have expected such a powerful demon to have thoughts like that—it was baffling.
As for Evan, he’d already left the cave, frowning as he used his senses to search for the Demon Emperor’s whereabouts.
After a while, Evan found the direction and quickly swam over. When he arrived, he saw the Demon Emperor pacing in front of a cylindrical pillar.
When the Demon Emperor saw Evan arrive, he was shocked. "Where is he?"
"Who?" Evan frowned.
"The monster in the cave, obviously." The Demon Emperor, seeing Evan, thought the fish-headed demon had come and was startled.
"So that's it—you wanted us as bait, so you could come here and steal something?" Evan noticed that the pillar contained a pure power, though he couldn't tell what it was.
"You're smart. I advise you to get lost, or you'll end up like your friend. By the way, did your friend get eaten by that monster?" The red-marked demon sneered.
"Eaten? No, actually, that senior let me out," Evan replied with a smile.
The Demon Emperor sneered, "I won’t tell you. You and I are—"
Evan was puzzled too, but guessed that maybe his immunity to electricity was the reason he was released.
"Ah! You can use both lightning and water?" the Demon Emperor exclaimed in shock.
In this water, everyone’s movement is restricted, and powerful attacks are hard to unleash—water weakens them. However, there are some types of attacks that aren’t affected.
"So that’s how you survived in there—you can use lightning," the Demon Emperor said in fear.
Evan smiled, waved his hand, and trapped the red-marked demon in a wall of water. On land, this wall wouldn’t hold him, but underwater, Evan could use the endless water to reinforce it without limit.
Although the red-marked demon had Demon Emperor-level strength, underwater he could only exert Immortal Lord-level power. Evan, able to fight peak Xuan-Immortals, had reached ninth-tier Heavenly-Immortal and could match an early Immortal Lord. With the water advantage, Evan suppressed him.
The red-marked demon was furious, attacking with all his strength, but it was useless.
He asked in shock, "How do you have water attributes? Are you some kind of aquatic demon?"
"That’s none of your business. Just treat me as a water creature," Evan said with a cold smile.
"Fine, you can trap me for now, but you can’t keep it up forever. Eventually your power will run out, and then I’ll break free and crush you," the red-marked demon said angrily.
He wasn’t wrong—Evan knew that maintaining the water cage consumed his energy faster than the demon’s attacks. Demon Emperor power was strong, and most importantly, this was the Demon-Beast Realm. Evan found his Immortal Source recovered slower here than in the Immortal Realm.
So Evan thought of a quick solution. Suddenly inspired by the earlier lightning, he secretly laughed, "Let’s see how you like this."
Evan sent a surge of electric current. It wasn’t weak—in fact, on land it wouldn’t threaten a Demon Emperor, but underwater, the red-marked demon was completely exposed to the electricity.
Evan kept strengthening the current around him. At first, the red-marked demon used his demon shield to protect himself and felt nothing, but soon he sensed something was wrong. The shield was slowly penetrated, and his whole body began to tingle.
"Ah! Monster!" The red-marked demon, thinking the cave monster had come, cried out in terror.
Evan didn’t know what he was saying, only that the demon was already electrified. Seeing Evan unmoved, the red-marked demon shouted in fear, "Let me go! The monster is coming—if you don’t let me go, neither of us will escape!"
"The monster’s coming? Stop bluffing," Evan said. He sensed no sign of the fish-headed demon.
"Didn’t you feel it? The electric current around us is getting stronger!" The red-marked demon said, trembling.
Hearing this, Evan thought of the fish-headed demon’s methods and finally understood. He quietly laughed, but coldly said, "I don’t care about your monster—I’ll deal with you first."
Evan increased the current. The red-marked demon endured it in terror until his body was nearly powerless, and the water around him kept pressing harder—he was badly wounded.
Seeing it was almost over, Evan flashed over and approached. The red-marked demon tried to escape, but a stronger current made him tremble all over, and Evan placed his hand on him, sealing him.
Evan withdrew the water wall and current, smiled and asked, "How’s that?"
The red-marked demon realized he couldn’t move at all. Terrified, he cried, "What—what’s happening to me?!"
"Nothing special. You’re the one who betrayed Harlan, right?" Evan said with roughly a smile.
"You—you know Harlan?" the red-marked demon asked in shock.
"That’s right. Do you know why we’re here?" Evan asked with a smile.
"Why? You’re not here for sightseeing?" the red-marked demon asked suspiciously. "Wrong. We came to catch you—Harlan sent us. You tried to use us, but in the end, you’re the one who lost," Evan replied.
The red-marked demon was stunned. "So that’s it. No wonder you two idiots came here for ‘sightseeing’—you were after me. Damn it!"
"Too late to regret now. But your trick was ruthless—using us as bait. You must have had a reason. Spill it!" Evan demanded.
The red-marked demon sneered, "I won’t tell you. You and I are—"
"Oh, really? Then how about another taste of lightning?" Evan smiled, and sent another surge of current. The red-marked demon had no way to resist—his whole body tingled and he suffered even more.
"Ah! You can use both lightning and water?" the red-marked demon exclaimed in shock.
"That’s right. Otherwise, the demon inside would’ve eaten me already," Evan replied with a smile.
"So that’s how you survived in there—you can use lightning," the red-marked demon said in fear.
