"What did you just say?"
Tyson Xiang froze when he heard the voice.
Lily Liang, who was about to say a few words in Evan Lin's defense, also paused at those words.
"Hey, don't say anything reckless right now!"
Lily Liang jumped in alarm, reached out, and tugged Evan Lin's arm, her face suddenly anxious. "Even if you're angry, you shouldn't say something like that at a time like this!"
"Are you an idiot or what? Do you know what kind of occasion this is? This is not the place for your nonsense!"
Just earlier in the car, Lily Liang had said that Tyson Xiang might have his older brother make trouble for Evan Lin. She was right about that, and her prediction was spot on.
But in Lily's view, since today was a big day for the Shang family, no matter what Tyson's brother did, he wouldn't really lose his temper here. If something really went wrong, even Tyson Xiang wouldn't be able to take responsibility.
As long as Evan Lin wasn't reckless and didn't say anything stupid, Tyson Xiang wouldn't actually make a move in front of the Shang family gate, not with so many people watching.
"Damn, who is this guy? He's so wild!" Nearby, someone couldn't help blurting out after hearing Evan Lin's words.
"He looks unfamiliar. Wasn't he just getting out of Lily Liang's car?"
"If that's the case, it makes sense. Everyone knows Tyson Xiang likes Lily Liang. This kid is clearly too close to her, so of course Tyson's brother is going to deal with him."
A few people stood nearby watching, shaking their heads one after another.
They didn't really take Evan Lin's words seriously.
What do you mean, 'you guessed right'?
In this situation, Evan Lin admitting he's here to cause trouble—most people just think he's acting out of spite, only saying it to snap back at Tyson's brother.
Nobody actually believes Evan Lin really came here to make trouble.
Who would run to the Shang family to stir up trouble? That's just plain stupid.
"So you're admitting it, huh?"
Brian Xiang's face lit up with delight.
"Bro, don't waste words with him. If this kid's here to cause trouble, just beat him out of here."
Tyson Xiang, who was waiting behind, walked up to Lily Liang, grabbed her hand, and smiled at her. "Let's go in first. This guy's here to make trouble, so let my brother handle him."
"A guy like him, popping up from who knows where, has no business walking through this door!"
Tyson Xiang looked down his nose, said his piece, and walked off with Lily Liang.
Lily Liang's expression kept changing. She glanced at Evan Lin, bit her lip, then finally shook her head and looked away.
She was really curious about Evan Lin, but what he just said honestly sounded way too stupid.
Admitting you're here to make trouble—you're just asking for a beating.
No matter how curious Lily Liang was about Evan Lin, she didn't dare explain anything at this point. She didn't want to get herself dragged in.
"Since you're here to cause trouble, don't blame me for being rough."
Brian Xiang nodded at Evan Lin, stepped forward, and threw a punch straight at Evan's shoulder. "I heard you used this shoulder to knock down my brother just now?"
"If that's the case, then leave your shoulder behind!"
Brian Xiang barked out, his voice forceful and commanding.
He was a fifth-grade Vajra, not low in status at the Shang family. This punch carried howling inner force, his whole presence overpowering.
"This kid's done for!"
"Serves him right for not knowing his place."
"Only someone with a messed-up brain would come to the Shang family gate and admit he's here to stir up trouble. And it looks like he's even trying to steal Tyson Xiang's girl—he's just asking for it."
The bystanders all shook their heads; nobody stepped in, and nobody planned to say anything right now.
They were just waiting to watch the show.
Tyson Xiang, already pulling Lily Liang away, suddenly paused and turned with her to watch Evan Lin. He smiled and said, "No rush—let's see how this kid gets laid out first."
"Lily Liang, I already told you—guys like this are probably just scammers. Now it looks like he's not just a scammer, but an idiot too."
"You said he's Ben Liang's girlfriend's friend? Well, that means Ben Liang's girlfriend is probably no prize either. I'll go talk to Ben Liang about it later."
Tyson Xiang's voice was full of amusement.
Lily Liang sighed, and even her gaze at Evan Lin held a faint trace of contempt she couldn't quite explain.
She'd thought the guy in front of her, able to move a billion yuan, might be some well-connected, smart second-generation.
That's why, on the way here, Lily kept chatting with him from time to time.
But now, it looked like this kid was just a self-important fool.
Picking fights with anyone, no matter the occasion—does he really think being rich makes him special?
Lily Liang stayed silent, not answering Tyson Xiang.
Brian Xiang's fist was about to smash into Evan Lin's shoulder. With that punch, half his bones would probably break.
But unexpectedly, Evan Lin, facing Brian Xiang's punch head-on, didn't back off at all. Instead, he threw a punch right back.
Evan Lin threw a punch.
Compared to Brian Xiang's aggressive punch, Evan's looked ordinary—almost plain.
There was no howling inner force, no overwhelming power.
All there was, was a simple, unremarkable punch.
It wasn't even fast.
But the amazing thing was, the punch came after Brian's—but landed first.
Instead of hitting Brian Xiang's fist, Evan's punch beat him to the mark, smashing into Brian's face before his own fist could touch Evan's shoulder.
Bang!
All the chatter around suddenly vanished.
It was dead silent.
Everyone was stunned.
Lily Liang's contempt turned to shock; Tyson Xiang's sneering smile froze on his face.
Everyone watched in disbelief.
Brian Xiang, a fifth-grade Vajra, was sent flying with a single punch.
Half his face caved in, his mouth twisted, an eyeball bulging out, and he crashed straight to the ground, unmoving.
"Brian Xiang... is down?"
After a moment, someone in the crowd whispered, their face full of shock.
"Holy crap! Who is this guy? He just knocked out a fifth-grade Vajra with one punch?"
"Did I see that right?"
After the initial silence, cries of astonishment erupted one after another.
The whole crowd exploded.
Everyone's gaze toward Evan Lin changed completely.
"You're really that strong?"
Lily Liang broke free from Tyson Xiang's hand, rushed up to Evan Lin, and stared at him wide-eyed, as if she'd found some treasure. She was full of excitement: "What realm are you in? Fourth-grade Vajra? Third-grade? Or maybe even second-grade?"
Her eyes were blazing—now there was no contempt, only deep awe and joy.
But Evan Lin wasn't planning to answer her. He walked straight ahead toward Tyson Xiang.
"What are you doing! What do you want!"
Seeing Evan Lin coming, Tyson Xiang turned pale and shrieked, his voice sharp: "This is the Shang family!"
"You—"
He tried to say something else.
But before he could speak, Evan Lin slapped him and sent him flying.
